Mabel and Hope have been best friends for 15 years. Even when college separated them, they were never truly apart. Now, 15 years after their first encounter, they end up at the same police department as new police academy graduates, looking to burst onto the scene as the newest officers. However, 15 years of friendship has seem to potentially... given birth to something more between them, but with the stress of the job now in full swing, will they have time to fully realize the feelings building between them?

Though this "role" that says Badge and Heart Pilot Section was originally meant for organizational purposes, you can submit any demo reels or other voice acting experience to this "role," so that I can have a reference for any extra roles that may be necessary beyond what is listed in this casting call.

For voice personality and other inspirations for this version of Mabel, one of the primary ones I would want you all to consider is The Clone Wars version of Ahsoka Tano. Voiced by Ashley Eckstein, she portrays the character with a lot of emotional depth and layering, which is exactly what I'm going for with this particular version of Mabel.

I fully understand neither of these are British-born characters, but the personalities (wanting to prove something to the masses, fight for what they want to believe in, etc.) is exactly the kind of drive and personality I want you all to consider for the adult version of Mabel.

For the teen/young adult version of Hope Stone, I'm looking for a voice that's kinda like the Taissa Farmiga version of the DC Comics character Raven (specifically from the 2020 animated film Justice League Dark: Apokolips War), that can be elevated to where Mabel is a caring mentoring type of best friend to Mabel, as Mabel is trying to find her place in a brand-new country.

Phoebe Ayling is the caring and soothing motherly presence that Mabel Ayling, her daughter, desperately requires, especially as the move to an entirely new country is now completed. Phoebe is a supporting presence where able throughout the duration of the pilot, and eventually in the full series, offering advice and encouraging her daughter as needed. 

For Phoebe's voice, there are so many existing characters that I could use as inspiration examples, but a unique one that I'm going to go with here is Brandy's depiction of Cinderella, in particular in the 2024 film Descendants: The Rise of Red, where she is the mother of Malia Baker's character Chloe. Her soothing and understanding presence in that particular film, and throughout her appearances as Cinderella in general, is the exact vibes that I'm looking for in terms of the voice for Phoebe.

For Edward's voice, I'm looking for a voice like Alex Quijano's Mike Bowen from High School Musical The Musical The Series, at least personality-wise. Otherwise, I'm not too picky about the voice that I would want for this particular character, so feel free to play around with it as you like, as long as it confirms to everything else I've laid out in this role description.

Joyce Stone is the mother of Hope Stone. Joyce is one of the very few people in the world who sees the brilliance of Hope's dual focus on coding and art, and the unique ways she finds to combine those two worlds to create something collectively and creatively special. That said, Joyce is also worried for her daughter, as she continues to encourage her to finally make a true and long lasting friend, so that she can feel truly happy about someone, as opposed to just her coding and artistic work. As important as both of those things are to hope, Joyce knows Hope has to expand her circle, in order to truly be successful in life. 

For Joyce's voice, I am looking for another soothing motherly presence like Phoebe for Mabel, but taking into consideration that Hope's circumstances are vastly different than Mabel's in many respects, but that there may ultimately be some similarities, if they're willing to look hard enough.

With that, when he finds out about the accomplishments of his daughter Hope and best friend Mabel as officers with the Nashville Police Department, along with the potential history when he finds out something... more is going on between them, he's willing to do whatever it takes to hunt that story down, but that lust for excellence may end up having unintended consequences...

For Ethan's voice, I want a commanding voice that has a hint of ego and a lust for perfection woven into the fold. I can't honestly think of a particular character that has everything that I'm looking for, but I would at least suggest to consider the lust for power exhibited by Sam Wither's depiction of Darth Maul from the Star Wars universe. 

Sam Walters: Activist For Life Season 1 (Premiering June 2026)

Welcome to the world of Sam Walters! The first The Autistic Star spinoff dives deep into the mindset of the older adoptive Walters sister, and how she ultimately became the mentor and comforting figure that Hannah desperately needed throughout The Autistic Star Season 1. The series will follow Sam through all the ups and downs, and show how she built a support system for herself, so she could be her true and perfect self, no matter what.

Though this "role" is being used for organizational purposes, use this to submit your voice actor demo reels and/or other voice acting experiences for any extra roles that will become necessary as the project is fully developed.

Jennifer Watson is Sam's girlfriend. She was her girlfriend even before she transitioned into being a woman. She's been extremely supportive of Sam since the beginning of her transition. Her number one goal is to ensure that Sam is as comfortable as possible, throughout the process. She will do everything in her paper to protect Sam and make sure she's safe. She'll do whatever it takes to realize that goal. 

For Jennifer's voice, I'm looking for something a bit assertive when dealing with those that wish to harm Sam, but soft and understanding as well, especially around Sam. I'm thinking something to the effect of Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters. 

AMERICAN TRANSGENDER VA NEEDED

Name: Michelle Jade Richards

Michelle Richards will be Sam's best friend when she enters Marble High School, after transferring to be in a safer environment away from her abusive father. Michelle, like Sam, is a transgender woman, so she understands the pains that Sam has been going through. Having been introduced to Sam through a mutual, Sam's girlfriend Jennifer, Michelle, like Jennifer, will do everything in her power to protect Sam, but unlike Jennifer, she has had direct experiences similar to Sam in terms of her trans journey that will ultimately serve to help Sam in the long run. 

For a voice inspiration, I'm thinking Mira from K-Pop Demon Hunters. Though Jennifer and Michelle are both assertive when needed, Michelle takes it one step forward. She moves heaven and earth, metaphorically speaking, to protect a fellow trans woman, and that involves going quite assertive, but she can go soft when needed.

Florence Chambers will be a minor supporting role, mostly in the first episode but recurring appearances throughout the season. She and her husband Milan provide a temporary sanctuary for Sam, while she figures out more permanent arrangements. 

Since the character isn't going to appear a ton, I'm not too picky about the voice inspiration or personality or anything like that, so feel free to build that however you like to fit the audition lines and everything else presented here.

Milan Chambers is the husband of Florence Chambers. He, alongside Florence, serve as a temporary sanctuary for Sam, as she tries to find her path forward in a world that seems to hate her for being her true and perfect self. Though Milan doesn't necessarily understand all the pain Sam's going through, he tries to help her however he can.

Like with Florence, the character isn't going to appear too much, so I'm not picky about voice inspirations or style or anything like that, so feel free to play around with that how you wish to.

I need a couple extra background/minor roles for purposes of filling out the background at Marble High School with lively students. I've included some examples lines below. In addition, submit any other voice acting experience you have that would prove beneficial for this opportunity.

Not What It Seems (Premiering August 2026)

Welcome to outer space! In an effort to protect human civilization with a dying Earth becoming increasingly apparent, many members are sent to neighboring star systems, to inhabit planets and moons. It is on one of these moons where we meet Amelia Granger, a young athletic teenage girl who longs for respect and peace in this totally new world. However, she gets more than what she bargains for, when an unknown threat comes about that could end up destroying everything they've built here, from outside and within. With that, Amelia must assemble and lead a team to combat this threat, and save the universe from what would come if the threat got off their new home...

She's cunning, extremely smart and versatile. However, underneath that outer shell is an emotional mess, and a mesh of someone on the brink of disaster, but tries to hold herself together when she's called upon to save the world. With her girlfriend Daniella at her side, and a friend group, small but mighty, proping her up at every opportunity, there's nothing that she can't do.

You could honestly think of Amelia being a mix of sorts of Riri Williams from Marvel and Sabine Wren from Star Wars.

Daniella is Amelia Granger's girlfriend. Daniella is a transgender bisexual woman, who always grounds Amelia whenever her anxiety attacks ramp up. She supports Amelia as she takes her major step up to gain the respect she wants from people in the world, or the universe in this case. 

For her voice, I'm looking for a voice like Hailee Steinfeld's Spider-Verse film version of Gwen Stacy. It needs to be an emotionally complex voice, and I think that Gwen Stacy is a perfect example for what I'm looking for.

Eriska Starlight is a hotshot legal intern, who's currently going to law school to become a lawyer. She's incredibly athletic and can hold her own when necessary, but within her capacity is the ability to care, and to mentor when able. Amelia Granger has always been of interest to her from that perspective. She's incredibly bright but hasn't believed in herself a ton, so she tries to help whenever and however she can, when she has the time that is. 

For Eriska's voice, I really like the idea of being inspired by Peyton List's depiction of Barbara Gordon in the 2019 animated film Batman Hush.

Natalie Lightyear was Amelia's first true friend, when Amelia was in freshman year of high school, and Natalie was in her senior year. She's been beaten down, largely because she's Latina, but with Natalie, she's proficient in every type of martial arts and gymnastics type imaginable, so she can hold her own. With that, Natalie has held on to something for Amelia that she was reluctant to hold on to until she felt physically ready, but with the universe at stake, there's no time to get ready...

For Natalie's voice, I'm thinking something along the lines of Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, Amelia has been trying to help her in that department, in exchange for assistance on her mathematics homework, since Emma is a mathematical genius. Emma is extremely shy in part because of her love for mathematics, which doesn't resonate with most people. Amelia is helping her realize her full potential, and become one of the most well-rounded people she's ever known. 

For Emma's voice, I'm thinking something along the line of Bex Taylor-Klaus's voice that they provided for the character Paige from the series Voltron Legendary Defender. 

AUTISTIC FEMALE VA NEEDED

Peyton Granger is the autistic older sister of Amelia Granger. Her life has been one that has been extremely difficult and rough to get through. She's easily been manipulated throughout her life, which has led her down the darker path that Amelia finds her going down throughout Not What It Seems. Amelia wants to help guide her down a more light-filled path, but she isn't sure how to ultimately get through to her, before it's too late...

For Peyton's voice, I'm thinking of something along the lines of Cynthia Erivo's depiction of Elphaba in the Wicked films.

Colonel Kaycot is the main antagonist of Not What It Seems. They're an alien. They're extremely cold, calculated, and extremely manipulative. They will body anyone and everyone who will stand in their way, in their conquest for universal domination. 

Aside from this short description, I'm open to whatever depictions you all have for the character.

Mayor Caleb Starlight is the father of Eriska Starlight. He's calm, cool, collected, and focused on whatever job is before him on any given day. He doesn't appear often in the story, but when he does, he brings a commanding presence that brings with it a ton of respect and dignity. 

Since this is a minor role in the story, I am open to any voice inspirations and personalities that you all can come up with, based on the description that I've given here.

Mayor Lola Haley will be a minor but supporting and soothing presence during Amelia's quest to save the universe. She's in Amelia's corner, and offers advice and technology where needed, in order to protect everyone, as much as they possibly can. 

Aside from this short description, and due to the fact the character doesn't appear that much in the story, I'm not too picky about the voice type, accent, personality, or anything like that, so feel free to play around with that as you see fit.

Miya Ryan is the young and hot chief of staff for Mayor Lola Haley. Born female and now identifying as non-binary, they're a fashion whiz. Feminine, masculine, androgynous, and everything in-between. When Amelia needs help getting a new look, Miya is one of the first people she turns to. 

Since this is a minor supporting role, I'm not too picky about the voice I get, aside from the fact it needs a hint of feminine in it, but also pushing to a more gender neutral voice. 

I need some extra VAs to fill certain soldier roles for when the big battles get underway within the story of Not What It Seems. There are example lines below. Do those and also submit any addition experience that will help me pick out the best VAs for the job.

Warrior Princess (Premiering November 2026)

Warrior Princess is a brand-new original fantasy adventure cinematic audio drama movie, set in a distant world with a wide variety of kingdoms within it. In Warrior Princess, we meet Cassandra Decker and Felicity Ravenswood. Both are princesses for their respective kingdoms, but once has it easier than the other. For Cassandra, she doesn't want to conform to the norms that her father has laid out, but any time she deviates, he steers her right back on course. For Felicity, her mothers allow her to pursue any path she desires, within reason. With that, when the two princesses formally meet, there's a spark that lights between them, which may ultimately may say all the kingdoms from total annihilation...

Though this "role" is being used for organizational purposes, feel free to use them to submit demo reels or other voice acting experiences if you wish to be considered for any extra roles that may become necessary as the project fully develops.

LESBIAN VA NEEDED

Name: Cassandra Decker

Age: 16

Sexuality: Lesbian

Cassandra Decker, on the surface, is the ideal princess. She's loyal, kind, and is the most feminine presenting. She's the picture perfect princess. However, when one looks beyond that surface, they see an emotionally complicated teenage girl, who wants to live life her way. She's been taking fencing and other fighting-based classes, much to the displeasure of her father, but to the quiet pleasure of her mother, who appreciates Cassandra is trying to craft her own journey. Beyond the fighting classes, she has zero interest in marrying a prince like her father wishes for her. She has no attraction. Her best friend Felicity in the other hand... she's looking to break the norms on that front as well, though time will tell if she will actually achieve all her dreams, or if she will forever be in her father's shadow.

For Cassandra's voice, I want her to sound formal when performing official princess duties, but more relaxed and genuinely happy when doing things like talking about Felicity, or when she's fencing, and other things along that line. For the actual sound of the voice, in my head I'm thinking Erin Kellyman's Jade from the Willow Disney Plus series.

Sexuality: Lesbian

Unlike Cassandra, Felicity Ravenswood has had a life that was a lot easier. Though she still has formal princess duties, Felicity has a lot more freedom in determining her own path. She too has taken a liking to the fighting warrior ways, but also to the arts in all capacities, and much more. She even has the freedom to date or to marry any individual she chooses to. When the multi kingdom annual meeting comes around, Felicity means Cassandra, and she's instantly charmed by her wonderful stature, beauty, and everything in-between. However, she also knows that Cassandra's father wouldn't approve of them dating, so they have to find a way to make it all work, while also saving a potential falling alliance between their two kingdoms.

For Felicity's voice, I'm looking for something like Ruby Cruz's Kit Tanthalos from the Willow Disney Plus series. 

Name: Katherine Decker 

Age: 50-55

Katherine Decker is the supportive and caring mother of Cassandra Decker. Cassandra wants to do things beyond the traditional norms and confines for a princess, but her father will usually deny her, but her mother is the complete opposite. She recognizes that Cassandra must forge her own path, away from the norms, and it's that very support that may end up being the key to saving the kingdoms from total destruction...

For Katherine's voice, I can't think of a specific inspiration off the top of my head, but I want a voice that's observant and caring, but also can be a little sneaky, as Katherine often has to be in order to ensure her daughter can have the fun when she needs it. 

Name: Terrance Decker 

Age: 50-55

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Terrance Decker is the strict and traditionalist father of Cassandra Decker. He plays things exactly by the book, and instructs his children and anyone who works for him to do the same. Anything that slightly deviates off the course of tradition will upset him greatly, so it comes at no surprise that the warrior and nontraditional dating intentions of his daughter Cassandra, when he catches wind of them, he is rather upset and even angry. However, it's that very reluctance to allow some things to go off tradition that may bring about the downfall of his very kingdom he's worked exceptionally hard to maintain...

For Terrance's voice, I'm thinking of the commanding presence that the late great Lance Reddick had when playing Zeus in the Percy Jackson and The Olympians Disney Plus series. 

LESBIAN VA NEEDED

Name: Addison Ravenswood 

Age: 40-42

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Lesbian

Addison Ravenswood is one of two mothers for Felicity Ravenswood. The kingdom in which Addison rules over has specific regulations that allow a same-sex couple to rule over the kingdom with equal power, with duties evenly dividing between her and her wife. This is a significant break from the traditions in place across the realms. What's even more of a break is their willingness to allow their daughter Felicity to pursue whatever passions she wants, in addition to her royal duties.

For Addison's voice, think of something commanding and caring like Angela Bassett's Queen Ramonda. Not necessarily her accent, but the personality and commanding presence her voice brings to the table.

Eleanor Ravenswood is the second mother of Felicity Ravenswood, and the wife of Addison Ravenswood. Like Addison, Eleanor is also very supportive of Felicity's extracurricular activities, and even joins her on occasions. She's invested in Felicity's future, and wants to ensure she is well-rounded in all areas so she can be the best ruler possible someday. 

For Eleanor's voice, to differ it from Addison's, I would go with something like Natalie Portman's Padme Amidala.

Name: Benedict Claymoore 

Age: 55-60

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight 

Benedict Claymoore is the lead butler for the Decker royal family. He serves at their pleasure, with him in particular being assigned by the King to pay attention to his daughter Cassandra, and ensure she's confirming to his image for her. 

For some reason, Benedict Cumberbatch's voice for Doctor Strange, and the James Garrett depiction of Alfred Pennyworth from DC Comics are the two voice inspirations that come to mind that I think will work for the version of the character that I'm going for. 

I would like to build out some crew roles to help make my life as easy as possible, especially as I am barreling towards college graduation in May.

Since day one, I've been editing together the audio dramas for Diversity Entertainment myself. Though I enjoy doing it and I feel very fulfilled, I also have a lot else going on, so I need some additional help.

I would like to build a team of character artists, that will help create visual representations of the characters in the stories being told by Diversity Entertainment.
