Mabel Ayling and her family have just moved to the United States of America from London, England. For Mabel, she's an intellectual genius who has a passion for knowledge and the arts. However, in England, her genius was seen by many as something to run away from, which was a major part, but not the primary reason, for moving out of the country. With that, the new start in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, is going to be the start of something new, but she wants whatever comes next to be a stable life where she can make some genuine friends.

The adult version of Mabel will appear at the beginning of the pilot's Act II, where she goes to sign up for the local police academy, only to be surprised that her best friend Hope has returned and is planning to do the same. This is where the main story truly begins. 

For voice personality and other inspirations for this version of Mabel, one of the primary ones I would want you all to consider the adult version of Ahsoka Tano, primarily portrayed by Rosario Dawson, but also to consider the character Detective Nyla Harper from ABC's The Rookie. I fully understand neither of these are British-born characters, but the personalities (wanting to prove something to the masses, fight for what they want to believe in, etc.) is exactly the kind of drive and personality I want you all to consider for the adult version of Mabel.
