Jesse May
@jessemayvaJess, he/they, 30 - aspiring voice actor finally following my dream :)
currently available for and actively seeking roles; fiction podcasts, audiobooks, video games, animation
Hi! I’m Jesse May (he/they) — a former theatre kid and singer from the Southeast U.S, now aspiring voice actor. I naturally sit in the mid-to-high male range, which works well for younger (late teens to 30s) male and androgynous voices. I really enjoy playing the charming trickster archetype: the eccentric oddball with underlying vulnerability and power, a lot of times wildcard allies, antiheroes, or suave villains. (Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel, Sokka from AtLA, and Okabe Rintaro from Steins;Gate come to mind.)
I'm very passionate about diverse media and would love chances to lend my voice to nonbinary, genderfluid, and androgynous characters. I love character work for D&D, games, animation, podcasts, and anything with personality and story.
I’m actively growing my skill set—developing new character voices, creature/fight sounds, and vocal effects. I’ve studied several languages, which helps me pick up accents and dialects quickly and deliver natural-sounding regional accents for characters.
I’m also a tenor and would love to voice musical roles as well.
I’m new but passionate, and excited to connect, learn, and find great projects to bring to life!
Flexible - working within project creator’s budgets
I'd love to work on audio projects with indie creators. Narrative fiction in podcasts and audiobooks, indie video games, and animation are my jam!

Jesse is an incredible voice actor! He is on top of his work and constantly updated the team on any delays. His emotional range is truly impressive and he was really able to understand and portray the character through his unique interpretation. He has initiative but is also very coachable. This is a gem you want on your team -- thank you Jesse for lending your talents to us!

Jesse is not only a great voice, but a font of vocal knowledge, as well. A great resource for accents, intonation, and understanding the human voice; any project Jesse participates in will be benefitted by it.

Jess played the role of "Charli" in my in-progress musical and did a fantastic job! They communicated well throughout the process and they weren't afraid to ask for clarification, both things I really value in a VA. Jess delivered his lines promptly and really nailed the character!

Delivered well ahead of the deadline with no issues, brought a good performance for a small role in my audio drama.

I managed Jesse on an audio mystery, drama series where they played a important guest star character on our second episode and even provided some of the Additional Voices. Working with them went very smoothly was easy to communicate with, discuss feedback, and properly met the deadline for delivering lines, giving the project a high quality performance. I greatly recommend Jesse May, I hope to work with them again in the future.

I acted opposite Marcus in Radio San Lazaro. They always came to recording sessions prepared and were a great scene partner!
