Danganronpa: Overflowed Lies
Project Overview
Please note the art assets here are old and have since been redone
Danganronpa: Overflowed Lies is a fangame based off of Spike Chunsoft's Danganronpa Franchise. The plot remains similar but has no canonical ties to the original series. Our cast consists of 16 students (listed below) participating in a killing game similar to the canon series. The game will be 6 chapters long, including a prologue and epilogue, so please only audition if you are willing to stay dedicated to the project for the entirety of it. Please note that some of the lines used in the beta scripts are taken directly from the game, while others are made up scenarios in order to conceal spoilers. A character may have a line where it displays them as a killer, while that could just be a line used to examine your voice range. Please do not uphold this scripts to the actual game, as the dialogue will change and be different. Casting is now going to be scattered and could possibly be before the deadline.
We’ve decided to just cast characters once we get an audition which we believe fits perfectly instead of waiting until the August 10th deadline just to speed up the process for the prologue to be produced faster! Roughly 9 characters are left, thank you everyone for auditioning!

Kaiyo is the protagonist of the game and will be the most prominent character. When auditioning for her, please keep in mind that you will be responsible for multiple voice lines and creating them in many different emotions. Kaiyo tends to be less emotionally clouded compared to other characters, but has deep sympathy for the rest of the cast members. She's very level headed throughout the game and tends to keep herself positive, unless something drastic happens (as we all know happens in Danganronpa). However, she also tends to feel more towards others in even an occasional romantic sense which is very important to be portrayed.

Misume Fuji is a prominent support character within the game. We imagine her voice to be somewhat deep and clear for a female. Misume generally snaps easily and has a hot personality which causes her to come off as blunt or cold. However, when in a vulnerable state, she can quickly transition from fiery to weak and emotional. As a teenager who comes from a very large line of business, she knows how to handle people yet can be harsh at times. Misume values those closest to her the most, and will defend them with all that she has. Misume is a large supporting character in the game, and auditioning for her means you accept the fact that you will be responsible for lots of lines with ranging emotions.

Ayaka is a shy and has a slight inferiority complex. She thinks of herself lowly and doesn't believe she's worth her peer's time. When the time calls, she's able to bring herself to a more strong personality and bring the group back to their previous unity. At times, she can be the glue holding the cast together. For this character, you will need to be able to portray multiple different sides and emotions to her personality. Her voice should reflect a shy and timid personality, with a tint of forcefulness when needed. She can be compared Chiaki Nanami in a way.

Kazuya is a cheerful and whimsical girl who puts lots of her faith in astrology. Kazuya can name all of the stars in the sky without a seconds hesitation. Although Kazuya is one of the most positive characters in the cast, she can easily disturbed by things such as the killing game. She isn't the smartest in terms of logic, and will resort to unusual strategies during trials. We think of her to have an airy voice, but isn't a requirement.

She's hesitant when making friends and limits the amounts she socializes with the other students. However, when she does trust someone enough to become friends, she will create a deep bond. If possible, she could have a French accent, but it is not required.

Izumi Sasaki, the Ultimate Violinist, is a girl in Japan's most popular girls J-Rock band, Meloditis, Izumi is a very honorable leader and trusted friend in her band, even considering them her own family! Izumi shows the impression of a very “aggressive on the outside but flowers on the inside!” type of person, most people fear talking to Izumi at first because of one, how serious she looks on stage about her performance and two, her “aggressive rock band” persona, while her looks contrast very much to her personality, she never ceases to not give a good impression on people she meets due to her high energy and cheerfulness. While you might think Izumi has not much time for home because of her world traveling band, she always makes sure to make her large loving family. Izumi is the oldest 12 siblings, and makes sure she spends as much time with them and supporting them in their future careers, over the years due to absence of her parents she has been the main figure to her younger siblings, supporting her siblings financially is one of the reasons she has still continued to be in her hit rock band.

- Toshiko Nomura, the Ultimate Profiler, is a responsible and mature woman. She's solved numerous amounts of cases which her higher-ups couldn't, solely due to her profiling and crime solving skills. Despite this, her name isn't widely known. She isn't credited for her solved cases to her dislike, which is why she left her job to study at Hope's Peak. We personally imagine her to have a higher and more child-like voice.

Riko Ikari, the Ultimate Translator, is the best known translator in not just Japan, but the entire world! If you ever had an interest in learning languages you had to have heard the name “Riko Ikari” at least once! His National Title as the “world class Ultimate Translator” gave him his first class ticket to Hope's Peak Academy, earning him the official “Ultimate Translator” title. Riko is a very talkative and mostly friendly individual. As a child, Riko and his father had to move place to place almost around the globe because of his father's work, due to this, Riko had to pick up many languages to learn in order to properly interact with his current peers before he had to move to the next country. Because of this, Riko managed to learn over 20-30 languages from across the world. But sadly for him, there was a downside, during his childhood Riko never really had the time to form serious relationships then the average child, causing Riko to grow up lonely and felt a bit isolated. Riko hopes that his acceptance at this amazing school will be able to help him form these skills that he missed out on and maybe even make long lasting memories.

Eiko Hado, the Ultimate Lawyer, is a male student of Hope's Peak mostly known for his amazing talents in the field of law, defending hundreds of people through his passion and wonderful skills. He has been known as the lawyer who has never had his clients lose in court, despite being younger than other lawyers. Eiko is a very social and righteous young man who believes that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. His more outgoing personality makes him easy to talk too and gives him a sort of, leadership role to his classmates of Hope's Peak. Although Eiko himself has never had any close friends in the past, due to him being busy with his career, his intimidating appearance and his big name in the law community, Eiko hopes that like his career in the law he will find his place in Hope's Peak.

Asahi Haruno, the Ultimate Poet, is known for his deep meaning dark poetry. His poems mention dark topics using very impactful literary devices to convey meaning. Many don't know if his poems just play a character, or vocalize his inner emotions and struggles. People all over the world embrace his unique poetry style and find different ways to relate to the stanzas of his writing. Asahi is very shy about sharing his poetry with others other than through his social media accounts, and refuses to read any of them out loud. His poems have still won various contests despite not being performed, earning him his Ultimate.

Masaru Ito, The Ultimate Engineer is a Japanese and Chinese foreign student, while his mother and father first settled in the country of Japan. Soon after Masaru was born, they eventually moved to China after the unfortunate death of his mother at his young age, so that his father could begin his career and business that would soon change Masaru’s life. His father was the businessman of many factories across the continent of Asia and Masaru would soon bond with the many workers that were there due to his father not being around as much, giving Masaru his passion and talent of engineering and repair at a extremely young age. After Masaru hit his teenage years because of a very unfortunate incident Masaru alone, was eventually forced to move back to Japan. But this never stopped Masaru from achieving his goals and passions of engineering. Which eventually earned him the talent of “the Ultimate Engineer.” Due to his past experience, Masaru is a very untrusting person who usually is more hostile to people he doesn’t trust. But when in the case he is the presence of someone who he does in fact trust, he is very passionate and mindful of people he cares most about. Will be those people at Hope's Peak Academy ??

Taichi Tsukuda, the Ultimate Dentist, was trained at a young age to care for his health, or more importantly, his teeth. This training caused him to be heavily interested in the structure of teeth and the human mouth. He enrolled in dentistry school, and despite being the youngest, was the top of his class. Since then, he was known as the most cheerful dentist at his office. His sarcasm and (not so) funny dad jokes gave him a likeable personality, making his patients, co-workers, and even himself laugh! We picture him to have a deep voice and sarcastic tone, but is not entirely required.

Not much is known about his personal life, but the more public events such as vacations and trips are regularly uploaded to his social media profiles, and his views multiply by the second!

Akio Kurosawa, the Ultimate Historian, is a world renowned historian. Even though most historians end up working at libraries, Akio was able to create a financially booming career for himself. From a young age, he had hyperfixated on multiple historical events. This caused him to be the top of all of his history classes, but very low in terms of popularity at school. Akio regularly writes biographies for his favorite historical figures and events, which typically fall under American history, his favorite. He is also invited to speak in many documentaries, and give lectures to others interested in his passion.
