Danganronpa: New World Order (Chapter 3 onwards) - Wes Nova
Project Overview
**Please see the update**
Hi everyone! With chapter 3 coming up soon, we’ve decided that now is the time to open a casting call for the new characters (Vivienne & Wes), as well as the pre-existing characters whose VAs were unable to continue with the project.
Please read the below to ensure that you are fully aware of the project and what you may be getting yourself in for!
Additionally, please feel free to let me know via PM if you wish to audition, but feel you cannot do so in the given time frame. My discord is Nopeunintended #8291 for anyone who prefers using it to communicate^^
Is this a paid role?
Since the game is operating on a non-commercial, fan-driven basis, the Voice Acting roles will not be paid.
In contrast, we are open to payment for the asset creation roles, and we're particularly looking for budding artists or animators who can do execution, climax reasoning, and/or body discovery art or videos. This is consistent with how the original project was presented.
To prevent this project from being labelled as a ‘paid’ project, the asset creation paid amount will be set to '0'
General Requirements:
- We are looking primarily for people who can stick with the project until the end (which will drag into the years). In fact, it's been roughly three years since the project began! Admittedly, this has not been helped by our hiatuses, but we have long since pledged to complete this project absent some fairly extreme circumstances.
- In terms of the cast as a whole, we have almost no set requirements - if you feel your voice is appropriate for a character, please don't hesitate to audition! You are free to use any lines that have been put here and/or any you can come up with yourself!
- You are OK with traced sprites, and a project that 'is no Kill/Cure' (or nowadays, 'is no Shattered Hope'). At the end of the day, this is a passion project above all else - for context, the entire game up to the end of Chapter 1 was initially private, and our original intent was to only produce this for our friends to play for fun.
Is it really a playable game?
Yep! To give you an idea of the scope of the project as of now, the segments that have been released amount to around 10-15 hours of playable content, with far more to be expected. This includes the prologue and a fully-completed chapter 1 and 2, which are viewable on the YouTube channel and playable via download from itch.io
Overview
Danganronpa: New World Order [aka DanganFanfic v2: New World Order] is a playable fan game/visual novel, featuring a fresh cast of characters, most of whom are based veryveryvery vaguely on real life friends [hence the tongue-in-cheek disclaimer you get in the title sequence]. As of now, the game is playable up to the end of chapter 2, and we plan to continue going strong with the project and seeing it through to the end.
The storyline is different to the main series, with the game being set in a talent-driven world, ruled by 16 'Great Families' which each hold exclusive jurisdiction over a separate area, such as education, religion, entertainment, and so forth. Amidst the strict regularity of this 'New World Order' [*theme song plays*] came a series of events that shook the system to the core, culminating in a killing game with most of the original Family Heads as the participants. To this date, the mastermind of that incident, and how exactly they managed to orchestrate such a large-scale kidnapping, remains a mystery.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the world quickly shifted to a merits-based system rather than the former hereditary one.
It is thus that we're brought to the start of Danganronpa: New World Order, which takes place during the final stages of the Great Talent Program, an initiative designed to scout out candidates to replace the former Family Heads. By this point, the talent pool had been reduced to 50 batches, ranked from most to least compatible and with each batch possessing 16 candidates.
The story follows the top batch of candidates, deemed to be most capable of succeeding as the head of their respective Great Family, and the horrifying ordeal they have to endure after they are kidnapped and trapped under a dome with only one means of escape. No points for guessing what it is...

Latest Updates

Thank you all for your submissions! We will be casting most of the characters shortly (over the coming days). The team have been blown away by the quality of submissions and we’d like to thank everyone for their interest in the project. For Wes, please be advised that we have amended this role and will be closing the original, with an updated deadline of September 17th (2 weeks). The reason for this is that there has been an update to Wes’ character since the project opened, meaning we are now looking for a relatively specific voice. There were lots of high quality auditions for Wes, and we encourage anyone who previously auditioned to submit another audition for Wes if you wish to do so. We'd like to stress that this decision was taken as a result of a misunderstanding on our end and is not a reflection on the quality of the auditions themselves. The new role will be open for two weeks, and this will be the final update. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you all again for your interest!
A mysterious woman, dropped into the middle of the killing game during chapter 3 for reasons that aren’t immediately apparent. Initially, little is known about Vivienne other than her name, her claim to know more than she lets on, and her pre-existing relationship with Wes, another new addition to the cast.
Could her mystique be disguising a dark secret?
Only with time will the burden of her knowledge be truly revealed.
“We all make our own realities.
Perception tends to override truth…you know that as well as anyone”
“If you’re really going to lapse into naivety that easily…
Then perhaps you should be treating me with even more caution than you already are.
Sooner or later, there are no secrets as far as I’m involved.”
“Sometimes, you just have to take the initiative.
It might be uncomfortable to make difficult decisions …
But you’ll grow used to it with the realisation that if it’s not you making those decisions…
Someone else will be making them for you”
A man with a grim mission, Wes is the second chapter 3 addition to the cast. As with Vivienne, information about Wes’ background and motivations remain initially scarce.
Though more affable in demeanour than Vivienne, the revelations he provides will prove to be no less earthshattering over time.
“Frankly, it’s so surreal hearing a top-quality world candidate ask something like that…
You’ve all really lost it in here!”
“Why are you looking at me!? I’m plenty emotional!”
(Of Vivienne) “Sleep can be quite difficult for one that’s seen as much of the world as her. Her especially…
She’s keenly aware of all the suffering around her.
And just as it has hardened her…it also torments her”
A robot with a mysterious past, Mii-Yu has remained an anomaly of the group since the start. Motivated principally by the shared learning model underlying her AI, Mii-Yu is genuinely interested in observing and partaking in the intricacies of human interaction.
Though she is definitely still learning to get her footing in the world, she remains plagued by self-doubt and is mindful of the possibility that she may have been involved in the initial kidnapping incident. After all, how can you comfortably proclaim your innocence...when you don't even have the memories to back yourself up?
"Right now? I’m feeling relaxed.
A sense of contentment is washing over me as well.
My emotional discernment simulator is clearly telling me that I am enjoying this conversation"
"Are you sure you can walk?
I understand it is human convention to put on a brave face.
But if you need a shoulder to lean on, I’ll be here!"
"There's no need to lie to spare my feelings.
I...already know how this must look to you all"
Literally Monokuma.
Side Note: ‘Killmore Bear’ is a lingering reference to the ‘first season’ of the fanfic, which was written in a much looser form for a group of friends and contained a plethora of in-jokes, one of which was “Killmore” (the name of one of our high school teachers)!
Sidier side note: Unique mascots were originally scheduled for release in chapter 3. This was pushed back to chapter 4 to allow the spotlight to be on Vivienne/Wes.
"Puhuhuhu...
But if you pick the wrooooong person…!
I’ll punish everyone besides the blackened, and that person will earn the right to *ahem*...
Exit the dome!"
"But I must say, you kids have seriously impressed me with how bloodthirsty you all are!
Even as far as Killing Games go, this was an especially brutal kill."
"Upupupupu...such resilience!
Let's see how long you can keep this up!"
*This is a paid role*
Please feel free to apply if you believe you can do any of the following:

Say something you think would fit
Rounding out the cast, Wes is the second chapter 3 addition to the story. As with Vivienne, information about Wes’ background and motivations remain initially scarce.
He has an enigmatic, calculated side to him, but otherwise defaults to being a bit of an awkward and even immature goofball.
Voice: "Like Fuyuhiko (DR 2), but lighter". Please also note that Wes does not have a deep voice.
Also included a sprite that displays a bit more of his personality.
(Enthusiastic) I think people like you are super cool! Too complex to be put into little boxes…too atypical to be explained by personality alone. Please…I have to know more!
(Flustered) Wh-what are you doing!? I-I thought I told you to stay away!
(Cold) Someone has to step in and view things through a more logical lens. She saw them, she knew what they were really like… It must’ve been so easy for them to moralise, while others continued to die from the pain of existence itself.
