Colored Rooms: The Crimson Crags (Skyrim)
Project Overview
The Colored Rooms: a DLC-sized new-lands mod set in the realms of Meridia. Enter the obscure dominion of the Daedric Prince of Light and Infinite Energy and unravel the narrative plaguing its people, a great labyrinthian assemblage of omens and foreboding prophecies that at once seem to say nothing yet upon closer inspection harken back to the secrets of the Dawn Era. Journey to the world beyond the Rainbow Road and discover a fantastical, otherworldly landscape unlike any on Mundus, rich with treasures and stories from the ancient past. A land untamed, primal and beautiful in all its strangeness invites you to explore it.
My co-writer and I have been doing the lion's share of the work on this mod, and have been reluctant to go public before we made some amount of progress. The time is right, though.
The Crimson Crags, largely taking place in the rough and hardy realm representing the lowest of the low-frequency colors of visual light, will serve as the teaser for the rest of the mod.

Now then, Interloper, if you'll excuse my Knight's interruption, it is time to put you to the test. I have a task for you.
The absolute worm, the foul, spiteful maggot of the void, Molag Bal, has breached my realm. Help to rid the realm of this fiend and his ilk, and you shall be rewarded handsomely. Betray me and you'll wish you'd never been born.
Because I command it, so it is done. As you put your faith in I, I put my faith in you, mortal. Do not disappoint me.
The herald of horrors, the abomination that haunts all the Aurbis, Bal fills all hearts with fear not through power or influence (though he has both in spades), but because he is the black rot known by even the most noble. The bitterness that turns warm hearts cold, the shame that turns sympathy into malignant indifference, he is the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men cruel.
Molag feels few emotions other than hatred; raw, unbridled indignation at reality itself, with the only cure being to take and remake in his own image all that is. He is the spirit of mass murder, of brutal torture, of every sadistic urge mankind is capable of.
Make no mistake, Bal is not frightening because he hides in shadow. Bal is frightening because deep down, within us all, there lives a small part of us that wants to give in to his instinct. The true fear lies when we find ourselves in the crucible of conflict and our character is called into question, that we may find ourselves hearing his call.

"The Yellow Knight" (real name is under wraps for now) is an Auroran of the Yellow Tribe and the de-facto leader of a knightly order of Aurorans. He is the foremost servant of Meridia; while the degree to which he serves her to the letter is debatable, he always does what he believes is in her best interest. He is the player's advocate.

"The Red Knight" is a grizzled old warrior of an Auroran with a soft spot for mortals and a blazing fire inside him. Should be able to be both tender and ferocious.

It's true. Millennia have borne that Aurorans, while lofty of standing, know little of the joys you drink in as life. Truly, one cannot appreciate what lies in their lot unless there is some credible danger of losing it.
A master of the mystic arts, "The Green Knight" is Red's brother-in-arms and foil. The two of them are your companions in this first chapter of the Colored Rooms story. Green is sardonic and cautious.

Hard-boiled and clever, Indigo is the detective of the group and Yellow's closest friend, not that you could tell by how they talk to each other. He becomes very relevant in later releases.
