Carousel | Animated Show Pilot
Project Overview
Carousel is a cartoon series in the making for a very long time. It’s a mostly light-hearted show made to be enjoable for all ages (it’s not a children’s show, but it’s not an ‘adult show’ like for ex. Helluva Boss). It takes place in an old, abandoned theme park and follows a found pseudo-nuclear family that range from ‘took the job to save up so he can move out’ to ‘on the run from authorities for homocide’. It follows all of their adventures as the secrets of the nearby woods, the ink-black creek and the townspeople unravel.
Right now I’m finished storyboarding the pilot, ‘Junkyard’ (working title heh), and im looking for five voice actors to help me bring it to life!
Good mic quality required, payment in usd through paypal. Im looking for someone who’d be willing to stick around if the series continues, for the same or higher pay if it gets popular enough.
This series will contain swearing, lgbt themes, death, alcoholism, mental illness and will feature mentions of abuse, so if any of that is an uncomfortable topic to you, please don’t audition.

Pory is a (half-)fairy. Her mother couldn’t deal with having a newborn and left them when Pory was very little, so she grew up with her dad and (paternal) grandpa, whom she was very close to. They taught her how to be a mechanic. After a housefire in which she lost her grandpa and a wing, she and her dad couldn’t get along, so she took a job as a mechanic and left home (though she still comes to visit her dad).
She’s stubborn and headstrong, sometimes a bit conceited and tends to have a hard time admitting she‘s wrong. She‘s very book-smart and always down to learn.

Help?? I don’t need help, not from you! *sounds of struggling to lift a heavy lid* …alright I think I need help…
Daevin is a faun, he comes from a huge family. The only person he’s ever felt close to was his mother, who died when he was 9, which made him feel very isolated and alone. He left home at 14 (not a very strange age for a faun to leave home) and Ned offered him a job helping around the park, which he took gladly.
He’s a bit feminine, which made him a target of bullying his whole life. He’s desperate for affection and for people to like him, and will put up with anything to get it. He’s very anxious when around strangers, but loud and friendly around people he’s comfortable with. He’s got a good intuition, he’s very street-smart and polite, a bit too bold for his own good.
His voice shouldn’t be ‘feminine‘ , just a completely normal 15-ish teenage boy voice.

A thirty-something alcoholic and smoker. She’s 30-ish years old, part-dragon. She d i d a v e r y b a d t h i n g, after which she felt so much guilt she couldn’t cope without alcohol. She’s cold and closed off, very rude and mean, though shows empathy and kindness in rare moments.
Her voice should be deep and rough, though i dont have a specific voice in mind, go crazy!

Ned spent most of his life as a homeless orphan, so when he came across an abandoned theme park in the woods, he immidiately struck a deal with the only person left there to whip it back to shape in exchange for having a place to stay.
He’s an older, very wise, masculine and fatherly man. He’s super loving and gentle, he never gives up on anyone and always sees the best in people. He won’t let himself get taken advantage of, but he’s always wanting the best outcomes for others.
His voice should be pretty deep and manly.
Nuri, I… listen, I know it’s been hard for you, but… you can’t just drink all day like this.

Marinette is an old theme park robot/animatronic who‘s very broken and keeps glitching out. She’s designed to look like a child because she would greet children, but she’s now over forty years old and very grumpy. All she wants is for the park to run again so she can feel like she used to. She gets angered very easily, especially about any jokes aimed at her height (she’s 4’11”)
Honestly just go completely wack with this one, im looking to give her a very unique voice, whatever that may be. Don’t apply any effects for a robotic voice, ill be doing that myself.
She doesnt have a big part in the pilot, but she’ll have a bigger one in the upcoming episodes!
Oh, I don’t know… maybe she finally DIED IN A DITCH SOMEWHERE. [Angry, spiteful]
