BreakPoint - Animation Student Thesis Film
Project Overview
PROJECT INFO
Hi, my name is Perrin. I am a 4th year animation student at Sheridan College, (Canada), working on my final animated thesis film: “BreakPoint”. The film will be a 3D/CG animated action short – inspired by internet animated shorts, video games, cartoons, and anime.
I am currently looking to fill the roles of the 2 main characters – 1 female voice & 1 male voice.
The story follows Sky, the hotshot pilot of a highly advanced combat suit, who consistently disregards the advice of her commanding officer, The Colonel, during her missions. One day, she encounters a foe that she cannot defeat with her usual tactics and must learn that she cannot overcome every obstacle she encounters with force alone.
My goal is to make a fun and exciting animated short, but also learn as much as I can along the way. I encourage everyone to audition and look forward to hearing what you can bring to the table!

EXPECTATIONS
- I want to ensure that actors/actresses are duly compensated for their work & effort so these roles will be paid and negotiable if selected.
- The full script and further details will be delivered upon selection.
- I prefer a directorial approach and actors/actresses should be comfortable with re-takes based on feedback, as necessary.
- If selected, communication will be handled primarily through Discord, but I am open to considering other voice communication options if necessary.
- Please ensure recordings are as clean and professional as possible.
- It is expected that you are capable of a full range of emoting with any voice you choose to submit for your audition.
AUDITION INFO
- Auditions will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis – up to the audition deadline.
- Roles may close before the deadline if an exceptional audition is processed.
- Audition using the provided audition lines for your desired role.
- Please keep your audition to a maximum of 3 takes per audition line - (less than 3 takes per line is acceptable).
- Please start your audition with an audio slate that clearly states your name.
- It is preferable that you email your audition audio file, (Google Drive links are also acceptable), along with your base quote per project to:

ROLE INFO
Role #1: “Sky”
Description: Sky is a young woman who is confident and very physically capable. Her impressive skill has led to her growing increasingly arrogant to the point where she completely disregards strategy in favour of acting purely on instinct during her missions.
Voice Adjectives: Upbeat/Optimistic/Casual/Confident
Lines: 13 (110 words) + possible efforts
Sample Lines:
Sky: *yawn* You know, I could probably kick these doors down faster than your brainiacs could hack ‘em.
Sky: [winded] I got it… right where I want it…
Sky: [controlled] Colonel. I… have a plan.
Role #2: “The Colonel”
Description: The Colonel is a middle-aged man. He’s a veteran who’s seen it all and is more than capable of formulating solid strategies and plans of attack. He is Sky’s superior officer and is always struggling to try and reign in her impulsive behaviour during missions.
Voice Adjectives: Stern/Controlled/Patient/Disciplined
Lines: 14 (150 words)

Colonel: Do you have any idea how many strings I’ve had to pull to clean up after you and your ‘style’?
Colonel: [angry] Sky, use your head for once! There’s no way you’re getting through its armor!
