"CUPID" - virtual story-based idol group, VA and Singing talent needed!
Project Overview
Hi there! Cupid is searching for 2 people to play the roles of "HANABI" and "NANA" in our songs and voice-acted skits! A third VA for the member "MOMONE" will be chosen from the collection of auditioners. We will be performing original J-Pop and Girlcrush style K-Pop songs, and our concept is "Falling in love with music". Please understand you will be playing the part of a pre-assigned character!
RULES FOR APPLYING:
all applicants must be over 18 to participate, no exceptions! (If you will be over 18 by January 2027, then you are permitted to audition! Please keep in mind that older auditioners will be accepted first!)
all applicants must be committed to recording vocals on time at minimum, as well as showing up to pre-recorded "live stream" events. These will all be scheduled out in advance and will take into account timezones!
all applicants must have a decent sounding microphone and a way to send audio in mp3 or wav format. m4a is not accepted!
all applicants must submit a RAW VOCAL SAMPLE to be considered! A raw vocal sample is one with minimal to no editing, no backing instrumental, and no harmonies or extra vocals - it's one track, one take! This is to make sure the selected vocalists blend with the group as a whole, and we can't tell if your vocals are mixed or edited!
WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE APPLYING:
A vocal sample of the song "Namidame Bahukatsuon" - please record the first chorus (starts at 1:04) and include it for the blend test!
A recording of the sample line for the character of your choice - this will be to get an idea for your voice for skits and 4Komas, please give it your best shot! AABB format please!
A general idea of your schedule and ability to commit - we're very relaxed as long as you're active and you turn things in on time!
A good mic, recording space, and attitude!
Please notate if you're willing to play a third role in your audition text should you not be accepted for either main role!
Note: Box here! I've had trouble with starting music groups like this in the past due to ghosting or auditions not going too well, so I'm hoping this one goes well! Please please understand the commitment level before auditioning!
Singer
Hanabi is one of four members of CUPID. Her image color is Jade Green, and she's a fan of gothic fashion. Her edgier fashion sense contrasts from her kind and spunky nature, so she prefers to be in the presence of people who aren't quick to judge.
Hanabi is Filipino, so a Filipino VA will be prioritized!
Hanabi is better for mid-to-low ranged voices!
A vocal sample of the song "Namidame Bahukatsuon" - please record the first chorus (starts at 1:04) and include it for the blend test!
"Hanabi here! Uhm... Sorry, not sure what else to say, haha! Peace peace!"
"Cupid, to your heart!"
Singer
Nana is one of four members of CUPID. Her image color is Sunny Yellow, and she's known for her preppy-cute aesthetics. She enjoys reading and being cute the most above all, so being an idol was natural for her. She's quick to anger but quick to cool off as well, and she has a bit of a complex about her accent ruining her "posh vibes".
Nana has a prominent accent as part of her character, so VAs with an audible accent will be prioritized!
Nana is better for high ranged voices!
A vocal sample of the song "Namidame Bahukatsuon" - please record the first chorus (starts at 1:04) and include it for the blend test!
"Hi, Nana here! You think I'm cute, yeaaah? [pause] Aw shoot, I flubbed it..."
"Cupid, to your heart!"
