Project Overview

Baldtusk!

A story about a young half-orc delivery man trying his best to fulfil  his duty amidst a war between the glorious Citadel and the ravaging Blood-Clan. Throughout his adventures, Baldtusk finds himself lumped in with a few misfits who - despite their best efforts - are distracting to say the least. 


Hello there!

This project is a comedy audio drama currently in the pre-production phase. I have always wanted to write a comedy and have 3 episodes story-boarded for this particular project. It is entirely self-funded through my full time work as a desk jockey.  I currently have an artist working on thumbnails that will be used for general world-building and final passes for cover art. As it currently stands, I have a few scenes written up that are purely for the purposes of exploring the characters and their interactions and grasping the kind of story beats that will be used throughout the episodes.

You may be wondering why a casting call is being posted when this project is still in its early stages and the simple answer is that I need voices to test out the current script and story beats.

So please be aware that this casting is purely for a test phase and a new casting call will be posted when the first few scripts are completed. To make it worth your time, however, I am willing to pay for your efforts. This project will require your services for 1 - 2 scripts and subsequently your work on those scripts will then be taken and reviewed internally to review possible changes to the current product. Again, you will be paid for your services, specifically for each script completed. 


REQUIREMENTS:

Paypal: Please have a Paypal account ready to use so that you may be paid in the most convenient way available.

Discord: Discord is an extremely useful platform for communication and is also where you'll find the scripts for use.

Performance Quality: Because you'll  be submitting your lines to myself directly, I do ask that you be able to either:

a) isolate your audio and minimise pops
- OR -
b) have the necessary recording tools where minimal audio cleanup is necessary

  • That's a wrap!

    Thank you so much to everyone who participated. There were some amazing voices out there - almost 400 of them - and picking just 4 was extremely difficult for one man to handle. Nevertheless, all roles have been filled and I am extremely excited to continue with this project and see where it takes me. Please keep in mind, there will be more casting calls posted in the near future for some extra voices that I will definitely need. So watch this space! I hope you're all as excited as I am to see this project come to life.

  • Just A Few Things

    First and foremost, thank you to everyone who's auditioned so far. Greatly appreciated! Please be aware that I am diligently listening to each and every audition so far. If any of you gold members can see that I've missed a few, please let me know because CC is saying I've got two unheard auditions but I can't seem to locate them. I have also upped the amount to be paid. Please be aware that this price is per script. I felt as though the original price was slightly too little for the quality I'm asking for. Thank you again to everyone who has put forth their best voice. I look forward to the next few weeks while we hopefully get more auditions coming in.

Rolosh Baldtusk is half orc and half human. During their upbringing, it became obvious that Rolosh was more human than orc in nature.

  • [Leader-like] Okay, guys, listen up. We've got 2 hours before the wagon is ready to take us to the next town over.  [Stern] Be ready! There will be no waiting if you're still polishing your shield or... preparing your spells or whatever.

  • [Attempting to be threatening but is not doing very well] Okay, mister, you listen here. My friends and I are going to walk out of this camp unharmed. If you don't like it... well then you will be in direct violation of official Citadel business!

  • [Trying to flirt] So, tell me, do you know how many rooms are available in this fine establishment of yours? I'd sure love to... stay the night. If you know what I mean. [Breaking the flirt] No? Like - you know - bed. Like I want a bed to... okay, you know what, never mind.

Style: Very gentleman-like when calm but quickly devolves into a bumbling mess when breaking.

  • [Trying to be the voice of reason] Now now everybody. Let's not get too hasty. Sheathe your swords and put your dicks away. We can handle this like fine gentlemen, can't we?


  • [Having a mental breakdown] What do you mean he has no gold!? We are literally in his mansion. The man has to have gold somewhere! He is a lord! [Pleading] Please. Just give me 10 minutes - 5 minutes! I can secure us enough to buy our own mansion. It will have everything we want! This is everything I've ever worked for. Please! [Sobbing] Please don't take this away from me!

  • [Frustrated] Do you know what it takes to make one of these metal swords!? Countless miners work extreme hours to extract iron from extremely poorly lit caves with no safety measures in place!

  • [Matter-of-factly] These streets are so terribly narrow and congested and yet there's all this space for garden beds. People are just stopping right in the middle of the path. This is a safety hazard! Someone should really petition to widen the roads.
