"All’s Fair in Bread and War" is a comedic short film, about a game show where artists/bakers compete against each other for the validation of the host. The main character Breadman, goes on the show to end his heated rivalry between himself and Croostoff. When the time comes to show off his skills, he is quickly overshadowed by Croostoff’s bizarre creations. The two go back and forth with Breadman’s creations becoming more complex and Croostoff’s becoming more abstract. In desperation Breadman relies on some good old forbidden bread techniques to whip up the wonderful, mysterious, Bravid. (The David statue with a slice of toast placed around the neck) However, it is no match for Croostoff’s ultimate piece, “Bread in its truest form” (A single wheat seed). In frustration Breadman destroys the Bravid which creates of a new piece that wows the host and wins him the show. However knowing that he didn’t he didn't win by his own means leaves him frustrated with the results.
⭐About Me⭐
Hellooooo there! You can call me Croosty/Crusty!
I'm a recent animation graduate on a grand adventure to the next best thing to work on. I love to animate and make colourful character designs. My interests include cartoons/anime, and frequently getting stuck on video game levels.
Previously I have worked on my thesis film, "All's Fair in Bread and War". A short film about a renaissance baker who struggles to compete in a modern-day baking game show (and yes, they're heads are indeed bread).
As well on a group film called "Stella" about the personal struggle of an idol. With that said, I'm hope you enjoy my work and am happy to work with you!

Judy is the host of the hit show “All’s Fair in Bread and War”. She is very bubbly, outgoing, and slightly shallow. She is loud and proud in her role even though she doesn’t know much about art/baking in general. She is slightly obsessed with Croostoff and tries to impress him by speaking some french. However, since she is very misinformed she speaks it incorrectly, using the wrong phrases or speaks it poorly. Due to her obsession she can be a bit shallow and dismissive towards people who aren’t Croostoff, but at the end warms up to recognizing Breadman as an artist.

As for notes on the character, even though I have written down a brief template for this character I am very open to people doing different interpretations, or experimenting with her lines in different accents or tones. I would also like to find someone who is confident in speaking french...poorly. But mainly I would just like people to have fun with the role.
[enthusiastically] Au revoir Everyone! Welcome back to…. |
[dismissive tone] ...and our other contestant, Breadman. |
This is the most très magnifique thing I have ever seen! I don’t even know what it means. |
Breadman is the protagonist of the film. He is an aspiring baker who wants validation from the public eye. However due to being constantly overshadowed by Croostoff he progressive gets more and more frustrated and bitter. Breadman is quite the perfectionist and easily loses his temper when things don’t go his way. He can get a little crazy at times when he becomes desperate to win. But aside from that he is just a very determined person that wants to get validation at the end of the day.
-----
Breadman has very few speaking lines in the film but a lot of his dialogue makes up of reaction noises/non-dialogue vocalizations, things like grunts, sighs, groans, panicked/frustration noises and the occasional evil laugh sprinkled in. So anyone who is comfortable with doing non-dialogue stuff is welcome.
No more, games “Croostoff”. TODAY, I’m getting the validation I deserve- |
Wait wha-, Huh?! |
[Gimme your best evil laugh with build up] |
