Hey folks! "A Tale of Stars & Shadows" has been a passion project of mine for a very long time; my brother and I have been developing this high fantasy story for over 8 years now. My brother is also in charge of the art, while I've been in charge of the scripts and world-building (as well as the music, teehee).
A while back, we released the first chapter of "A Tale of Stars & Shadows" as a graphic novel, and as my goal has always been to have this story be an animation show similar to Avatar: The Last Airbender & Legend of Korra and The Owl House, I've decided to take matters in my own hands and turn the graphic novel into a voice-over experience!

We've been actively spreading the word regarding this story in various ways, which includes a few original music albums that explore the story, the locations, and the characters of the show (perfect for those who like fantasy music as much as I do!)

This is initially going to be an unpaid project, so please audition only if you're comfortable with that! I haven't received any revenue from the work I've done so far for "A Tale of Stars & Shadows", but in case this new endeavour brings in any revenue when released, I will be sharing the profits with all contributors fairly!
Be wary that while I'm working on the edit, I will also be doing the soundtrack for it + my brother and I are also working on turning Chapter 2 into a graphic novel – which is taking a while as we both work full-time, curse you adulthood! All this to say that a finished product might take a while, but I always aim to have my work done ASAP!

Requirements for voice actors!
1. Clear microphone
2. Be punctual, dedicated, and committed
3. You must be okay with LGBTQ+ themes.
4. If you are cast, please do not discuss the script(s) and story outside of the actors' group as there are major revelations that I would like to keep a mystery so as not to spoil the fans of the story!
5. Please let me know what the best way to reach you is if Casting Call doesn't show you notifications - Discord, Instagram, etc.
I'm planning on having all actors join me in a Discord server for easy communication, so if you have a Discord feel free to share it with me along with your audition.

Hey everyone,
We just wanted to drop in and say that we are astonished by all the talent that has graced our ears! Thank you to everyone who has found interest in our project and has auditioned.
Seeing that we're reaching the end of 2023, we wanted to wish everyone happy holidays, and to inform you that we are working hard (or hardly working, amirite...? I'll-- I'll walk myself out) towards turning this project into reality! We are excited to make our choices hopefully towards the middle of January 2024!

Our frivolous, feisty, goofy and reckless protagonist. She's adventurous, acts before she thinks, and full of ambition to be part of the Caster Guild "Prestige" - despite being a Caster!
Voice range: Mid-High – think tomboy-ish Luz (The Owl House), lower-pitched Paimon (Genshin Impact)
(nervous laugh) There there, little... tree monster thingy.
Uh, you guys are not JUST a Caster Guild - you're "PRESTIGE", literally the BEST Caster Guild ever! You guys get to go out on adventures and help people around Galdore Kingdom! I want to do that too! (starry-eyed) I want to leave Avel and travel all around Elymas, to explore the WORLD, to be a bringer of JUSTICE... and all that jazz.
(through teeth, kicking jail cell door) COME. ON. UGH. (mocking) "Prove you're worth recruiting, Jas." You do it if it's so easy!
Ami, our second protagonist, is well-mannered, well-read, and... well, incredibly special. This timid and mysterious boy is more than he seems. Ami leans more towards his feminine side, and we'd like that to be reflected in the smoothness and softness of his voice.
Voice range: Soft & smooth, Mid-High - We encourage anyone to audition for this role!
(He has only a few speaking lines in Chapter One, and becomes a lead character in Chapter Three.)
(through tears) LET HIM GO! (panting) Lortnogk'dan! (have fun with that spell!)
That’s brilliant, but I’m going alone. (waves hand) Besides, didn’t that lady order you to keep an eye on me?
(panicking) I DON’T KNOW WHY I DID THAT!
A mysterious woman appearing in the very first scene of "A Tale of Stars & Shadows" and returns towards the end of Volume 1... let's just say she's very important.
(to baby) Shh, shh, it's okay... (then, keeping her cool) You know how they work. One way or another, they’ll take me back. And if they don’t... Never say a word about where we came from.
(tearful chuckle, accepting her fate) Okay.
Equally as important as Mother, this man is seen in the first scene of the volume. Likewise, he appears in a later chapter of Volume 1 (and Volume 3, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.)
(calm but insistant) We’ll get through this. (to himself, trying to make himself believe it) We’ll get through this.
(panicking) They're right behind us, I don't -- I don't know what to do.
Despite his snarky nature and charming lightheartedness, as the Head of Prestige's Envoy Division, Kelinar has found a way to balance his skittish traits with those of a tactful commander.
Prominent in Chapter 1 and 2, then has comparatively smaller appearances later on.
(teasing) You sure you don't have magic? Maybe one of the Old Magics? (gasp) I know - AIR MAGIC. Cause you're an airhead.
Should I even BOTHER to ask what you were thinking, or it's safe to say you weren't thinking AT ALL? (sigh) It's my mentoring. I knew I should've been stricter with you... And to top it all off, you did not only cause utter chaos, you DID IT in the HIGH DISTRICT!
You lack the advantages the rest of our Envoys have when it comes to battle. You don't only need to be good with weapons -- you need to be the best. And you won't be that if you don't learn how to use a bow! It's much more than a coward's weapon, and you'd know that if you gave it a shot. (then) Get it? Gave it a shot?
Marn is the Guild Master of "Prestige". Behind her stoic exterior hides a deep motherly care for her guild.
She's a supporting character throughout Volume 1 of "A Tale of Stars & Shadows" with further appearances down the line (again, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.)
(stoic, a hint of concern) You’re still training her. I hope you know what you’re doing.

We need to be smart about this, Kel. If what you’re suggesting is true, and it’s connected to what happened here last night... That crystal, hidden under our own guild house... the planned attack on us both... them happening in the same night, it can’t be a coincidence.
As cheerful as she is mysterious, Vil likes to keep her secrets as much as she loves to bury her nose in others' business. Perhaps that is why she was the best for to be the Head of the Archivist Division.
Similarly to Marn, Vil is a supporting character that has numerous appearances throughout the story.
Nahli Stuporalis. It grows in southern Nahlea, hunters use its essence to petrify their prey when hunting. (then) It’s going to take time, but if we don’t do something about it, you’ll lose all function of your arm. And that’s a best-case scenario.
(smirks) Don't worry about it.
(pet voice) She was just so cute that we couldn't just leave her there. We named her Pinky because she's so tiny. (normal voice) And because she's pink.
Serell is scrawny and unfortunate, yet rich with wisdom gathered throughout his fourty years of life on the streets of Avel (and beyond?)
Please. My wife and kids, they haven't eaten. I can sell it -- it's all the way from Nahlea, worth a lotta voliures -- I saw the price. (a beat) Please.
You know... when you gave me them coins... I could tell you’re one of us. Or at least were.

His quiet demeanour makes Damron the perfect agent for the Sect of Shadows. However, beneath his serene façade, a ticking time bomb of repressed anger awaits its explosive release.
Voice range: Mid (Raspy?) - a good reference would be Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
(with anger and desperation) It's the role I'm supposed to play!
