Eheh... I must have had you all wrong. Let's, er, put aside our past grievances. Say, buddy, could you do your new friend a favor? I've got a meeting in Auburn soon, I need to get on this train.
SO, WHAT, HUH? WHAT'S GOING ON? IS THIS ALL SOME SORT OF... DIVINE PUNISHMENT FOR THE WAY I SPOKE TO YOU BACK OUTSIDE THE SUBWAY??? I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, OKAY??? PLEASE... MAKE IT END!!!
Ticket Collector is an overworked service worker.
- english
Alright... I'll stamp your hand to mark that you're allowed on the train. Give me a moment.
Hey... Didn't I just ask you not to cause trouble? Could you stop that, please?
Sigh... Whatever, it's not like they're paying me enough to care...
Malic is a friendly Roughworks worker who rides the train to Espren when the murder occurs.
- english
- male adult
I have high expectations for Auburn Forest. I've heard it's beautiful over there- a couple of my buddies are lucky enough to work at the Auburn Lumbermill.
As a subscriber to this paper, I'm honestly getting a little tired of the riddles that just talk about how great the province is... Some variation of this question's in like, every single issue.
...you know what? Yes. Take me instead. {resigned}
A young woman from the Citadel who is riding the train when the murder occurs.
- english
- female young adult
I've been travelling the Queen's Line all around Fruma to see what the rest of the province is like! It's been a fun time so far! ...Well, mostly...
...Sorry. I'm a little... rattled, after what's gone down... ...Those guards were wrong, right? It wasn't you?
I'm really nervous... What if the murderer isn't done? What if they're a cursed one?
One of the people riding the train when the murder takes place. Very annoyed with the roughworks and has become cynical and jaded.

I hoped, at least, that the Festival there would be cool, and instead, it was a complete disaster. On top of that, I missed the one back home...
And yet, everyone back home is just so... Okay??? With it??? They think the government couldn't wrong them. They build shrines to the Queen in their homes!
I bet everywhere is just as bad. I just don't know what to think of anything anymore. It all feels like a lie. But maybe I'm just asking for too much, I don't know...
A general of the Fruman military. You won't have to record anything else for this role.

The caretaker of the train when the murder occurred.

I am Telati, the attendant for your journey today. I am sorry I did not say hello when verifying your stamp, I was a little, uh, shocked by how many people were taking the train today.
Concerned, I followed the two of them, to find that they had found Levi's corpse. Before I could ask questions, they were off running through the train yelling.
But... I would never kill one of the Queen's servants... Or anyone for that matter! Please! Have mercy!

I'm conducting a study of Fruma's snails- they've always fascinated me... They come in so many different shapes and sizes...
...It wasn't you, was it..? No... No, a guility person wouldn't react the way you did. I trust you.
Did you know that Gigastropod shells are tougher than concrete? You can stand on them and the creature will be fine! ...Though, I don't advise doing that- it's probably really scary for the poor snail. Apparently, back in the horrible Great Auburn Flood - you know - the one that kickstarted the New Age... ...People survived by clinging onto the Gigastropods, because despite their hardy shells, they're also bouyant! Speaking of the dam, isn't it fascinating that Gigastropods are so closely related to the Murex Mollusc despite the sheer cliff between them? Don't stand on Murex Molluscs though, they're toxic! Plus, their shells aren't as strong. Did you know that their slime- OH, GOODNESS! I'm so sorry! I... I got carried away.
A snobbish man coming from the highlands who is riding the train when the murder occurs. Is actually the one who kills General Levi and secretly a member of the Highlands resistance cell.

...God Maury, with a messup this bad, they'll send us to Deraj for sure! You know what they do to people in Deraj!!!
Yeah? What were YOU doing napping on the job? What else was I supposed to do when I needed the bathroom?
...You were the one worried about screwing it up! Just think how that would have looked, dude, we would have been so fired!
One of the constables meant to protect General Levi. A reference to the Wet Bandits from Home Alone.
- english
- male adult
NO, Harvin, that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. We're already on thin ice after the sewage incident. Bein' assigned to the General is a BIG DEAL! We can't screw it up, or we're OUT.
...Oh, Harvin, GODDAMNIT HARVIN... We're NOT gettin' let off the hook for this one! We're SCREWED.

A constable that guards the Bread Factory.
- english
- male adult

Get out of here pal, you shouldn't be loitering around under a Constable's watch. {authoritative, warning}
Obviously not... We have enough problems as it is, what with that stolen barrel last week... And the production quotas... {stressed}

The mail-deliverer, truly a noble profession. I will share with you her location, but in exchange you must tell her: her friend is back in town. {approving, informing}
Did you know? Did you know? There is more than one way to enter any building. {mischievous, teasing}
Vault Chief is more formal and relents to authority.
- english

At my factory? What do you seem to be implying!? {defensive, offended}
I humbly apologize... I didn't mean... But, still, that matter was settled years ago! {nervous}
Inquisitor 1 is investigating the bread factory for a potential breach.

Inspector is arrogant and cruel. Very proud of his job.
- english
- male adult
We are here to execute a search. Your water usage levels have exceeded your authorized allotment. {formal, cold}
At the bread factory? That's none of our concern, we're the Water Authority, not the Bread Authority! {irritated, authoritative}
What's that!? To imply that the Water Authority couldn't handle a bit of gluten... It's treason, is what it is! {outraged, offended}
- english
Inspector, there seems to be some commotion coming from the Bread Factory. {formal, alert}
Inspector. A message. {urgent}
Inspector. A message from the Authority. {urgent} Uncertain. But they're recalling us, under orders of some higher authority. {reporting/serious}
- english
- male adult
A letter? Don't know nuthin' about no woman on the hill, but maybe Bush over there would know. {uncertain, casual}
Don't talk to him for too long though, or he'll start putting strange ideas in your head... {warning, uneasy}
You think starin' at random people in the street is some kind of joke? Get lost. {irritated}

Lishvil is a changeling pretending to be Abramod's brother and is very fixated on obtaining a medallion. Should sound off, like an alien imitating human speech. You won't have to record anything else for this role.
- english
- male adult
Abramod... I want to come home now. If you give me your medallion, I can be with you again. {tempting, deceptive}
Give me your medallion. I can become one of you. {insistent, predatory}
NO! {furious, panicked}
One of the guards to the Aldwell festival.
- english
We can't let you in without seeing your medallion!
I don't know how, but this alley must have slipped through our planning.
Hmm... neither of us have seen anyone carrying something that smells like that in.
One of the people who run the festival stalls.
- english
Welcome to Festival of the Wicker's premier food stall!
No, I don't. The residue smells far more pungent than any drink I recognize.
If you found it here, you could try asking around the festival to see if anyone else recognizes it.
A festival attendee who really likes green tea.
- english
It's the festival again! And you know what that means... Green tea!!! I never know how to get this stuff outside the festival.
They do all this under the guise of it being "mystical" and "only suited for ceremonial occasions like this," but everyone sees through their sales techniques.
Come on, give me the name. What do you want, emeralds? Information? I'll give it to you, just tell me where I can find a year round green tea merchant.
- english
The rules are simple: you pick the fox you think will win a race around the wickerman and back.
I'll give you a banner you can use to cheer your fox on. It should be helpful, although sometimes they can get a bit overwhelmed.
Wow! Your support for your fox was really impressive. You've easily earned these tokens. Enjoy!
A festival attendee who really likes racing foxes.
- english
Oh, hi. Don't worry about me, I'm just analyzing the performances of the last few races. It's nothing you'd be able to understand anyway, so don't worry about it.
No hard feelings, nobody can expect to beat me at fox racing though.
And if you'd teach me your racing technique at some point, I'd really appreciate it!
A festival attendee who is worried for her child's safety.
- english
- female adult
Isn't it nice to see kids having fun? I try to lighten his life when I can, but it's so hard to some days.
I did see something very odd a few hours ago though. By the entrance to Aldwell, it looked like someone hopped over the fence.
It might have been a trick of the light, but I think I saw them change clothes and shove something under the bridge.
A child enjoying the festival. You won't have to record anything else for this role.
- english
- male child
I love when the festival finally comes around again!
A clan member who enjoys being alone at the festival.
- english
The festival is a great time to hang out with friends, away from anyone who might want to intrude on us.
Their old medallion was handed to me to burn. In fact, just on my way into the festival I threw its ashes up the tallest tree in Aldwell.
You know, they were always a bit troubled. But I don't think they're bad. They just weren't suited for clan life.
The organizer of the festival who is willing to do anything to make sure people don't step out of line.
- english
Just as generations ago, when our ancestors first exposed and immolated the changeling threat that we are supposed to be celebrating today, we must remain vigilant!
If we let up our vigilance for even a moment, we have already lost our war. Our clans and families will be infiltrated within the day.
Again, thank you so much for your help. I cannot emphasize enough how much you assisting in this matter for us allowed the festival to be a success.
An old woman who notices things others would not.
- english
- female senior
I'm much too weak to ride the ziplines around town much anymore so I appreciate any company I can get.
But I can still sit and watch the scurrying people below. I can see what they all do when they think nobody is watching.
A bunch of lying outsiders then. To be expected, it's a pity you can't say they all did it.
Secretly a member of festival security who nearly burned the wickerman down. You won't have to record anything else for this role.
- english
The festival is a great time to hang out with friends, away from anyone who might want to intrude on us.
No. And we're in the middle of a conversation, please don't interrupt us.
Be careful what accusations you throw around. Not everyone has their guard down around this festival for those who stick their noses where they don't belong.
Arris is a young person who is under suspicion of nearly burning the wickerman down. They were recently exiled from their clan.
- english
- nonbinary
Well, um, of course you do. You're going to think I committed arson or something and then report me and everything will be horrible.
I only lied because I panicked and I'm sorry for panicking but please please please you cannot tell them that I'm a changeling or whatever.
And this was the only place I could think of that would have any and I really missed not having to run across the Mistwoods trying to forage and I really really hate being exiled and I need somewhere to go.
A supposed tea merchant and poacher who is arrested for being suspected of nearly burning down the wickerman.
- english
- male adult
I'm cooperating. But I don't see why I should trust someone I don't know or trust with more details than they need.
I spend so much time alone by myself in the woods that I'm not used to making conversation, even when it's needed.
I've managed to find a spot in the Aldwell wall where you can leap over and the guards can't see. I'm amazed they haven't fixed it yet.
Cerisa is an escaped soldier who is arrested for nearly burning down the wickerman.
- english
- female adult
I was also completely uninvolved in who or what tried to burn down the wickerman, so you can let me go whenever you're ready to.
My solitary purpose right now is to convince you that I did not try to burn the effigy. I can deal with the consequences of being exposed as a thief later.
It was a gamble to avoid mentioning my desertion. I had to weigh the odds of you finding evidence of my desertion with the danger I might be in by admitting to it.
