Persona 5: The Phantom X [CHAPTER 4 ENGLISH FANDUB]: Wave One (MAIN CHARACTERS AVAILABLE)

Project Overview

This is a Persona 5: The Phantom X English fan dub for Chapter 4! Since this is the first time I am doing this, main character roles are up for grabs. We will also eventually be dubbing over the Prologue and the first three chapters, so do consider that if you are auditioning for a main character!

Chapter 4 Phase 1 has been released on Global and SEA servers, so characters that appear in this part will be listed here! In the case that a lot of people are interested in this project, I am considering fan dubbing for future chapters, P5 & P3R collabs, and the main cast synergies. There are also plans on dubbing all battle lines and other synergies in the future, however they are not at all a priority at this time.

Another wave of characters will be here in a few months, which will include:

  • Merope & Igor

  • Some Phantom Thieves of Hearts

  • Characters from the Prologue and Chapter 1

I have talked with some of my friends and a lot of them said they are interested in P5X but don't want to play the game due to it being a gacha! It's understandable, which is why I'm starting this dub as a passion project with the goal of making a fanmade English dub enjoyable for people who are interested in its story but don't want to play it.

These will be posted on a Youtube channel for everyone to see once it is complete, but since the size of Phase 1 is around 6 hours, it may be split into 3 (or 6 if we like 1 hour interval) parts. There's multiple other Persona 5 X fan dub projects around as well, so be sure to check them out in your free time! I think they are pretty neat and I got a little inspired to make my own, as you can see. ^^

Requirements

  • DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS CHAPTER, SOME ROLES ARE 18+ ONLY. We will be accepting submissions from 16+ for all other roles, but please state if you are a minor in your audition.

  • Slating is optional. You may record up to three takes in your audition for each line in any format you wish!

  • Discord is required for communication! Please put your Discord in your audition.

  • USB Mics are OK 👍 as long as your voice is clear to hear. Do you best to keep your minimal background noise low. I don't expect everyone to have studio quality equipment, but we do need to hear you!

  • AI IS NOT ALLOWED.

  • Like having fun. I might do something special for the English dub cast in this fan dub.

Other Information

  • You do not need to know or play the game to audition! Characters have their wikis linked in each of their descriptions, but the links do contain spoilers!

  • Characters have videos linked to where the line comes from. Please use them to your advantage to display the correct emotion. Videos also contain spoilers.

  • Don't worry about how to pronounce a character's name! If you are cast as a character, I will tell you how to pronounce it.

  • The ideal vocal range is my idea for the character. You do not have to follow it if you have a better idea of the character.

  • If a role is not listed here, the character has already been cast or does not appear in Phase 1 of Chapter 4.

  • If you want to get involved and you think you have something else to bring to the table (video editing, audio mixing, singing, etc), do tell! I may open up roles for them in the future waves if there is interest.

  • Chapter 4 Phase 1 is already transcribed and written onto a document! You can start immediately once casting is over.

  • This is a long term project. Please keep that in mind when auditioning for a main character role or a reoccurring character.

  • Progress Update 1

    Thank you all for the support recently! It's only been a few days and there's already almost 50 submissions! Didn't think it would be so fast.

    In other news, I'll give a progress update on my end. The entire story has been written and transcribed onto documents! I've also recorded the footage for all of Prologue and Chapter 1, and will be starting on recording Chapter 2 today for future dubbing. Priority is still Chapter 4, it just takes a while to actually reach that part on a new account... I should be able to finish the story before auditions end, though. This will be my 4th time completing the story.

    Keep up the good work! I haven't listened to all of the submissions yet, but I'm loving what I'm hearing so far! Hopefully I could at least get enough auditions to cover the whole cast before the deadline ends. 🙏 I'll start giving some more feedback to some more auditions now. Good luck, everyone! 🌸

Codename: Wonder


He is the protagonist of Persona 5: The Phantom X. He's a second year student who lives in Zoshigaya and goes to Kokatsu Academy. He is the leader of the Phantom Thieves of Desire. Throughout the game, he gets visions of alternative events that happen in the game. Instead of "confidants" or "social links", he has "synergies" with other characters in P5X. He cares a lot about his friends, and is currently guiding the world to avoid ruin. Despite being a "silent protagonist", you will be voicing Nagisa's lines and his thoughts.

Codename: Luce (Italian. "Light")


The star of the show of Chapter 4 (and also my favorite character)! He is a new member that joins the Phantom Thieves during Shimotsuna's Palace. He is a third-year student who goes to Kiga High School and he is an uprising actor on stage plays. He is half Italian, half Japanese, but being able to speak Italian fluently is not required to audition for him! You will still be expected to learn how to pronounce Italian words correctly if chosen (he says like...10 different words in Italian, you'll be fine). As he grew up in Japan and not in Italy, an Italian accent is not required either!

He's an owl-liked creature who possesses knowledge of Mementos, Palaces, and the Metaverse. Certain human beings who possess the power of Personas are able to communicate with him. Unfortunately, his memories are lost and he does not remember who he is, but over the course of the story, he slowly regains some memories as each treasure is successfully stolen. His synergies are automatic within the game's story. I wonder what kind of being he turns out to be...

Codename: Closer


She's an optimistic and sincere second-year student at Kokatsu Academy, sitting in front of Nagisa during class. She is the most athletic out of the Phantom Thieves with a background of being a skilled baseball player as a child. However, she doesn't have the same skill level for her logic, so she relies more on her intuition instead. She is best friends with Tomoko Noge, and gets along very well with Riko Tanemura. Her synergy focuses on her getting back into baseball after resolving the events of Palace 1.

He is a second-year student at Kokatsu Academy, meeting Nagisa and Motoha for the first time during the events of Chapter 2. He has a close bond with the owner of a ramen shop, training to become a chef. Despite being in a different homeroom class, he looks up to Katayama and admires her. During the events of Chapter 4, he gets along extremely well with the guys of the group (Nagisa Kamishiro, Shoki Ikenami). His synergy is about finding the ideal ramen flavor by trying out ramen from different places.

This character has an obsession with the main cast (Shoki Ikenami). She is Chapter 4's antagonist. She is the 5th palace ruler, under the sinner of Pride. She sees herself as above commoners and will not hesitate to get rid of anyone who is an "obstacle" to getting her way. She is the cause of ruining Shoki's family in Japan, and shows predatory affection specifically to young men (Shoki Ikenami, Shun Kano, Nagisa Kamishiro). Due to this, she, and the other three mentioned are all 18+ roles only.

A recurring minor character & synergy.


Yes, he appears in Chapter 4 despite being a synergy! He's a dramatic freshman who has trouble making friends, but Nagisa starts talking to him in a synergy before Chapter 4 as one of the "chosen ones". He appears in Chapter 4 as an actor for Kokatsu's and Kiga's joint play, so he plays a minor role. If you are cast for Kiyoshi, you will be cast as an extra.

Kumi Katayama is Nagisa Kamishiro's homeroom teacher! Formally with a palace in Chapter 3, she has a few appearances throughout Chapter 4! The Phantom Thieves of Desire all look up to her as someone to admire. She is protective of her students and wishes to guide them to better futures. If you are cast as Kumi Katayama, you will be cast as an extra.

SYNERGY ROLE. She does not appear in Chapter 4 Part 1, but she will be cast anyways due to her appearance in 4.0's trailer and her brief appearance in the Prologue. If you are cast for Manaka, you will also be cast as an extra for the story.


She is a first-year high school student who sings covers of songs on the internet under the name "Ange". In the prologue, she attempts to commit suicide. In her synergy, she is recovering from the attempt and learning how to walk again through physical therapy. Eventually, we will dub over her synergy (friendship route only), but it is not a priority at this time.
