Forget everything you thought you knew about the Sonic games.
Forget the original timeline. Forget SEGA’s mistakes, the contradictions, the rewrites, and the direction the story eventually took.
Imagine an alternate universe where the events of Sonic Adventure 2 went too far.
Sonic finally sees past the rivalry and recognizes the pain behind Shadow’s anger. In the final battle to save the world, he makes a choice no one expected.
Shadow does not sacrifice himself. Sonic does.
Sonic is gone, leaving Shadow behind with the memory of the person who saved his life and a promise he now has to carry forward.
The others are left without their friend. Shadow is left with the consequences.
And from that moment on, the entire Sonic timeline changes.
What if Shadow lived after Sonic Adventure 2?

“What is this project about?”
What If Shadow Lived After Sonic Adventure 2? is a story focused project built around one major change to the Sonic timeline: Shadow survives the ending of Sonic Adventure 2, while Sonic sacrifices himself instead.
But this project is much bigger than simply rewriting one game.
Our goal is to retell the entire Sonic game canon as one connected, evolving story. We want to revisit the games, expand their characters, fix contradictions, strengthen weak storylines, add missing context, and make the events of each game actually matter to what comes after.
Rather than treating every Sonic game like a mostly separate adventure, this version of the universe is designed to feel like one continuous saga where characters remember what happened, relationships change, consequences carry forward, and major events permanently affect the world.
The story is the main focus. Because of that, the project is not limited to one format. Some parts may work best as animation or cinematic episodes, while others could eventually become full video games, audio productions, or other forms of storytelling depending on what serves the story best.
We are currently looking for voice actors, video editors, SFX editors, artists, animators, musicians, developers, and other creative talent who would be interested in helping bring this universe to life.
This is a paid project, but we are especially looking for people who are genuinely passionate about the idea and want to be part of something long term. We want collaborators who care about Sonic, storytelling, character development, and making these stories feel meaningful rather than simply showing up for a paycheck.
This is not just about making a cinematic Sonic series.
It is about rebuilding the Sonic story from the ground up and asking:
What if everything actually connected? What if the characters truly changed from what they experienced? And what if one decision at the end of Sonic Adventure 2 changed everything that came after?
Sonic dies. Shadow lives. The story continues.
When the auditions are done I’ll contact one person of choice on who not only fits this project but who will remain voicing the characters going forward in the project
