WE KNOW THE DEVIL is a Group Relationship Horror Visual novel created by weirdo games critic and indefensible twitter account haver Aevee Bee (Mammon Machine:ZEAL) and illustrator and comics artist Mia Schwartz, with a chilling 80s horror synth soundtrack by Alec Lambert (Antibody Productions), live photo backgrounds taken with disposable cameras in the terrifying woods where we live, and aesthetic touches and UI by Lulu Blue.
WE KNOW THE DEVIL is a story about everyone who made you cry at summer camp. It’s about missing your Sailor Moon VHS tapes. It’s about how being irresponsible is contagious. It’s about knowing that in a group of three, two of you will be closer than the other.
And it’s about being weird and queer and wrong and hoping against hope no one will find out when the actual, literal devil comes for you.

[Laidback, Slightly Anxious. Any Range]
Jupiter typically has a "go with the flow" type of attitude, and doesn't concern herself much with other events. The only main exception to this is her fear of the Devil and of being a bad kid. She is constantly afraid of being "bad," and goes out of her way to try extremely hard to be seen as good.
Jupiter is anxious and shows a tendency to blame herself when things go wrong. An example is when she and Neptune go to the greenhouse and she breaks an old cabinet by accident, which causes her to start crying. Whenever she feels nervous or believes she has made a mistake, she snaps a hair-tie against her wrist.
(thinking) I envy boys a little sometimes too. Isn't that the good thing about them, that they're easier? A more straightforward sort of evil.
(disgusted) Oh god it hurts just to smell. Are you sure this is something people can drink?
(narrating) The devil is lonely. We kicked out the devil and it misses us. It keeps begging to be let back, for us to let it in.
[Bitchy. Snobbish. Any Range.]
Neptune is bossy and fashionable, and doesn't care what others might think of her or how her own actions might affect others. Neptune typically behaves as she would like to, with little regard for others' approval. While she can be nice to those she cares about, her tone comes off as rather abrasive and sarcastic most of the time.
Neptune does genuinely care for Jupiter and Venus; however, her ways of showing it are somewhat unconventional. Rather than outright declaring it, she demonstrates her feelings towards her friends in more typically aggressive speech and actions, such as threatening to hit Jupiter if she doesn't stop blaming herself.
(complaining, bored) Another week. Fml. This is the worst.
(under breath but obvious) Fuuuuck him.
(sneering) Calm your tits, Jupiter, I just need like a minute. I promise to be an incredible nightmare to you too babe just wait a MINUTE.

[Shy, Soft-Spoken. Med. High.]
Venus is timid and shy, masking a deep anger at the world and at Summer Scouts in particular. She doesn't hesitate to argue back when Group South picks on her, but instead of hurling insults the way they do, she just tells them why she thinks they're antagonizing her.
She noticeably is easily distracted. While fixing the sirens, it takes Neptune three tries to get Venus's attention, despite her being involved in the conversation just before. This is likely due to her seeing lights as the devil.
(worried) We should have called the captain.
(distracted) Sorry...I thought I saw something. This diode shattered, can you pass me a new one?
(whispering, horrified) I want them within me and without me. All through and about me. I want feathers in my lungs and eyes on my skin. I want my heart to see and my lungs to fly.
[Warm. Inviting. Mildly Foreboding. Any Range.]
God is described as "sounds like every boy you are afraid of talking at once." , confirming the Devil's presence before switching to a weatherman's report. Welcome to any interpretations!
(narrating, even-toned) It is certain that the devil is coming. It is absolutely certain the devil is already here.
(narrating continued) Parables I:I "The devil is only the shadow of man cast from the light of god."
(mild, conversational) The weather is scheduled for 100 with humidity tomorrow. And now for the news—
[Sensual. Sinister. Teasing. Low Range. ]
The Devil is described as "smoke and honey", beckoning for the trio to return to them.
(coy) Oh. Hi there.
(cooing) Oh, darling... I miss you. I have always missed you. I can still remember what your faces were like. I have missed them since before you were born. Please come back.
(gently bargaining) I know I can't offer much. The bodies I can give you are weak. The stories I tell are impossible.
