VIPER: Halo 5 Machinima
Project Overview
Synopsis:
The year is 2554. nearly 3 decades of savage war between humanity and a alliance of alien races known as the Covenant has left the outer human colonies in shambles.
The war may be over, but the consequences of it's occurrence continue to play out across the galaxy.
On the virtually ungoverned world of Iota, Thiago Collado, has made a name for himself as La Vibora, the Viper; a notorious smuggler and gun-for-hire. Driven by a hatred for the government that left his family to die during the Covenant invasion, Collado accepts a contract to deliver a critical shipment of stolen military equipment from a Covenant splinter leader, Grosan 'Santak. The contract would turn out to be a setup instigated by a rival crime lord, Jamie Micks. The ship Collado was to deliver the equipment in was rigged to fail. When it eventually did over the vast Iota desert, Collado found himself trapped within the wreckage. In a desperate attempt to escape, Thiago injected himself a series of steroids found in the shipment. He was able to leave the wreckage but soon lost consciousness, expecting death to follow soon after.
Collado awoke; his body transformed and wildly enhanced by the steroids he had taken hours prior. Upon returning to the crash, Collado discovered he had injected himself with the serum used to create Spartan IV's, hyper advanced super soldiers. With his new found prowess in addition to prototype suit of Spartan armor, Collado set out once again. This time get get revenge on his betrayers.
Project Logistics:
This project is a Halo 5 Machinima. It will enter production phases shortly prior to or soon after the final casting of the voice actors in the project, with a tentative timeline of Mid-April to Mid-May. The final product will be published on my YouTube channel publicly.
The following is a list of requirements for those seeking to audition:
- We will collaborate via Discord on all production aspects
- You must have a quality mic that can produce clean audio. No phone, laptop, earbud, etc mics. Auditions that do not meet quality standards will be rejected.
- Only raw audio is needed. You do not need to modify your voice to emulate any perceived effects (i.e do not create your own helmet-voice filter)
- We request that no person under the age of 16 audition for this project
- Submissions for finished lines will be done via Google Drive
What to Expect:
In virtually all of my productions, the voice work is often gathered first/early so that production can be done in relation to actual read times for lines. If-cast, you will produce your lines but will be on standby as the production is filmed/edited. During this time, modifications may be made to lines so be aware that there is a chance that rerecording may be needed.
This is a volunteer project . No member of the cast or crew for this production will receive any form of monetary compensation and that includes myself. Your hard work and time is valuable and appreciated!
I often put heavy emphasis on promotion and advertising of projects. Expect to see your name be attached to things like that over the production life.

PLEASE NOTE: This character is bilingual, and will have several lines in Spanish in addition to their standard lines. High preference will be given to VA's who can demonstrate a Spanish fluency or competency.
BIO:
Thiago is a former ore miner. He lost his wife and daughter during the Covenant attack in 2547 but was off-world on work during the invasion. He returned to Iota post-invasion and began working as a smuggler-for-hire, fulfilling contracts for both human and alien vendors. He despises the UNSC and blames them for the loss of his family. He continues his life on Iota where he can be free of UNSC entanglement but still close to his family's final resting place.
Thiago often speaks to his late-wife in prayer, a break from his usual cynical and sarcastic mood. He reflects on his actions and plans, often asking her to forgive him.
PERSONALITY:
Thiago is highly sarcastic, cocky and arrogant. Very much so an anti-hero, he does bad things for bad people for simple monetary exchange. His ability and status has only strengthened his sense of pride over time. Thiago however immerses himself in the Viper persona to escape the reality of how much he misses his family. The charade can only persist so long before he must speak to his late-wife in prayer and apologize for how she must see him.
VOICE:
Thiago is healthy man in his early 30's and his voice quality should reflect a natural maturity of the age range. His speaking tone is heavily influenced by his often overly casual and confident attitude, both elements of the Viper persona. He often breaks tense conversation with jokes or even asides.
NOTE: Thiago is a natural-born Spanish speaker, so a quality or natural Spanish accent is highly preferred for this role.
(Boasting/ Narrating) You see, on Iota they got a name for me. La Vibora. The fastest, most handsome, most talented smuggler for the next 5 solar systems. And honey that was before I got the cool new gear.
(Sarcastic/Mocking) C'mon guys! Are you even trying? I mean that guy doesn't even have a gun in his hand! At least give me a challenge!
(Serious/Decisive) That split jaw set me up, Cero. I'm coming back with his head and I'm gonna hang up right above my bed!

BIO: Ciro is a natural born genius and former ONI researched. Scouted for secret work immediately after completing University, Garza abandoned the organization in disgust with it's motives and his own contributions to it. For years he wandered the outer colonies. Eventually he found semi-permanent residence on Iota and became the one and only true partner to Thiago, the Viper. Garza uses his advanced intellect and ability with technology to support their criminal en-devours.
PERSONALITY: Ciro is highly level headed compared to Thiago. He is a analytic master and is able to asses and evaluate situations and information with high accuracy. Similar to Thiago, he does what he does as a means to stay out of reach from the UNSC. His justification lies in the fact that his work for ONI was far more harmful (or potentially harmful) than anything he could do on Iota.
VOICE: Being an outlooking planner and naturally rational thinker, Cero's tone is often one of quiet resolve and factly confidence. He speaks with the understanding that his assumptions and assertions are true. Unlike Thiago he doesn't need the feel to boast or parade and usually only discloses info when needed.
(Informing/Answering/Casual) Well, the short answer is no, you're not actually a Spartan. You're kinda caught somewhere in-between. Unfortunately amigo, it seems like you're just as much a pain in the ass.
(Reflecting/Humorous) When I look back on my time in ONI, I can't help but feel that being a criminal was the much better career choice.
(Serious/Assertive) And what if the UNSC comes out after you, Thiago? A few gun runners on Iota is fine but what about real, trained soldiers? You aren't thinking ahead at all as usual.

BIO:
Neves is an agent from a different organization who has captured and is interrogating Thiago some undisclosed amount of time after the events of VIPER. She reveals little about herself to Thiago during the interrogation. She is also a non-traditional Spartan but was skilled enough to apprehend Thiago and detain him for interrogation.
PERSONALITY:
Neves is a no-nonsense professional soldier. She is often very sharp and direct in her manner but not to a point of being aggressive necessarily. She takes interest in Thiagos retelling of the events of VIPER, but allows him to divulge as much info she feels is needed. She is also a excellent judge of when Thiago is inflating the story or changing details. Se retains her elements of mystery throughout.
VOICE:
Neves's voice is refined, mature and serious. She doesn't care to overly express and emote but that does not mean her voice lacks emotion. It is more filled with demanding tones and solid intimidating confidence.
NOTE: This character may use several Spanish phrases throughout the script.
(Serious/Directly) I'm not here for jokes, Collado. Tell me what I want to know or I'm gonna start knocking teeth out of that smile.
(Assertive) The only reason you're not dead is because you've got something in your brain that's important to us. And I don't feel like picking that info up from the floor, follow?
(Slightly Joking/Sarcasm) Oh I don't doubt the serum worked on you. I just don't believe you stopped at a holy crusade for revenge. You've got something else you need to tell me.

BIO:
Grosan is an Elite; an ex-member of the Covenant Empire that nearly drove humanity to extinction. While many of his race abandoned the Covenant due to it's betrayal of their kind, many like Grosan remained loyal to the goals of the Covenant. As the leader of a Covenant splinter group, he travels the galaxy in search for Forerunner relics that his people revere as religious icons. Unlike the past however, he cannot afford open conflict with humans and must trade and do business with other groups to accomplish his goals.
Jamie Micks strikes a deal with Grosan. In exchange for Thiagos life, Micks would give Grosan Forerunner relic. Grosan accepts the deal.
PERSONALITY:
Like many in his race, he is a strong, no-nonsense warrior type. He does not care for menial humor and is often highly direct and aggressive when speaking to others. He does not waster time with talk where avoidable and is quicker to take action as needed.
VOICE:
Please note, Grosan is an Elite, an alien species. While your audition does not need to 100% replicate main characters from Halo, please research their vocal quirks prior to auditioning so that you can attempt an authentic take on their voice type.
(Assertive/Threatening) I will give you the corpse of the Viper. But should you fail to uphold our deal, I will put you both in one grave.
(Matter-of-factly) The vessel is loaded. Deliver the goods and do so quickly. You will receive your payment once I know the delivery has been completed.
(Serious) I care not for your jokes, human. You are to complete your task and that is all.

BIO:
When the UEG lost control of Iota during the Covenant invasion, several opportunists rose up to take control of the ungoverned lands. Jamie Micks turned Iota into his playground. Killing, robbing and building an empire built on power and fear.
One day, an up and coming smuggler made a name for himself by breaking into one of the biggest warehouses run by Micks, robbing many valuables while avoiding capture. Unknown to the smuggler, he had also made off with Micks' most prized item. A shotgun he shared a family-like attachment to. Micks swore to have the smuggler tracked down and killed for the crime.
PERSONALITY:
Jamie is a proud, loud mouthed, arrogant stone cold criminal. he's build himself a castle and a throne if he had the chance to. He uses his power and influence to live a carefree, do as you please, life style and often at the expense of innocents and even his subordinates. he shares an attachment to only one thing. His shotgun. He reels in a murderous Covenant loyalist to exact his revenge on Thiago for stealing it.
VOICE:
Mature with a certain element of desert dweller gravel, Micks is someone who speaks as if he's giving a sermon and the world is his church. he demands a audience to even his whispers.
(Sly/Striking a deal) I've got something you'd like big guy. Something real fancy. Real sacred. I'll give it to ya', for free even. I just want one thing. I need the Viper. Dead.
(Plotting/Reflecting) That kid has been edgin' in on my business for far too long. I figured I'd let 'em slide. He'd get his kicks and then he'd kill himself off on his own. But now he's gone and took my baby. My prize possession! Boys, it's time to step on a snake.
(Mocking/Boasting) Oh boy, big guy. You must not get around to Iota much. You see my name is Jamie Micks, and I've got this whole planet under lock n' key.

Isabelle Collado

BIO:
Thiago's late-wife. She makes a short vocal appearance in Viper in his retelling of the fall of Iota. Shortly before the Covenant invasion she contacts him one last time to say her final goodbyes. In his prayers to her, Thiago highlights that she served as a guiding light for him that he hopes she can forgive him for his actions as the Viper.
NOTE:
Isabelle's part, while short, is written to be performed in Spanish. An actor who is bilingual or who can demonstrate a Spanish competency is preferred highly for this role.
VOICE:
Isabelle's tone is one of resolve and collection. Despite the dire situation she faces during her appearance she is clear and precise with Thiago in her final goodbyes.
