Project Overview
Welcome to our first Casting Call of Ultra Danganronpa: Heaven of Despair!
But don't get too excited, this is just a first wave. Right now we're looking for our main star of the show, the voice of Rei Akiyoshi!
This role is very important and we need to find one as soon as we could manage, he is our top priority among the cast. So if you feel like you're up for the part, get to it! Chop chop!
And if you're looking for other roles, you will have to wait for at least a while longer.
1. Your setup should be in a good quality. No echo, or background noises. Extremely expensive equipments aren't required, but the overall sound quality must be on acceptable level. Even if you don't have that yet, don't be afraid to try out anyway, your voice might just be the one!
2. You can act. You can express different kind of feeling and emotions, whether it's to be sad, happy, determined, or all kind of human emotions in a convincing and immersive way, while staying true to your character at all time. And again, don't worry about it too much, don't get me wrong you still have to act well, but everybody can improve!
3. You can work well as a team. You can cooperate with others, maintain a good relationship with the team, and all around good natured. This might not sound like an important thing for some, but trust me, it is if you're planning to stay here for a long run! We're all gonna be family!

Rei Akiyoshi is a stoic and quiet individual. He prefers to keep himself out of the spotlight, and occasionally wander around in his own thought. He is an observer, not a speaker, and daydreaming is a very blatant trait for him, which many times have led him to be disconnected from the world around him, which often times annoy the others who were trying to speak to him.
Though he is perceptive and intelligent, he lacks the initiative and is constantly challenged by his own self-doubts, especially when everyone is looking up to him for guidance.
Despite the pressure of carrying the faith of their lives in his hands, he will remain calm and fight on while at the same time battling with his own inner madness.

Rei has a medium, to slightly deep, low voice, with a natural calming tone, almost monotone, and usually filled with a hint of indecisiveness and curiosity. (If you need an example, I'd say it is similar to a lot of Johnny Yong Bosch's performances (closet would be, say, Yu Narukami). But don't worry it isn't *exactly* like Johnny Yong Bosch!)
He will spend the majority of his time talking to himself in his inner thought. His stoic demeanor is hard to break and he will remain in control in most situations.
If you're going to take this role, expect a *lot* of work coming your way!

Yeah there's a lot of Yu Narukamis, but that doesn't mean you have to have the *exact* same voice as him, any kind of voices you think would be fitting for his character are free to submit!
(inner thought) "This is bad...! If I don't turn this situation around... There must be a way... There *has* to be a way!)
(you know Danganronpa you get the idea) "You've got that wrong! / That's wrong!"
(lost and confused/defeated) "My... talent? Right. It's... I... I don't know."
(dumbfounded) "That sounds... interesting."
(indecisive/nervous) "Are you sure that would work?"
(impressed) "You made these stories? Wow... I can't believe I'd actually get to meet you, let alone in person like this."
(stating to self) "Maybe this is my chance... My one last chance to make things right."
Optional but also quite important: Choose one of the character profiles (or more than one of them, your choice) and narrate it out from start to finish. You don't have to do it in one go, you can make a cut between pauses and take a short breather as long as they're not noticeable.
