TROVE : the pilot episode (anime)
Project Overview
Hello everyone! My names Etain Sievers and I'm working on trove, An action/ indie anime set in a fantasy world where humans each have a gemstone that essentially determines their future. Kate Maile is fighting to stop this and live his life not as his gemstone but as him. (in depth desc at the bottom)
There will only be one episode of Trove because as soon as we finish this Pilot I will be sending this off to Netflix, Amazon, crunchy role ect, ect, ect and going in to pitch myself of course when the pandemic ends and they'll accept people once again. I decided to jump in the deep end and go full animated episode because this is my first pitch ever and I want the biggest chance possible of this to be picked up. This is my dream and I'm willing to do whatever I can to make this project succeed.
Our sponsor! we do indeed have a sponsor for this project so I will be able to pay for most of the roles and pay relatively well but my budget is very limited I'm afraid to say, so If you think this is a really cool idea and want to help out for free or just support from the side lines a discord server will be set up once the casting call ends and there will also be a section in the roles for you to pitch what you can do for free. ( This is completely optional please do not feel obliged to do this!)
This goes without saying but this project is a one off as soon as you finish your script, lines, drawings ect. You are free to go. So if you audition do not fear, you are not locked in for life!
There is however a chance that when I'm pitching, the people I pitch too might take a liking to your work, if this happens ill give them your info if you would like so to any who pitch in with this project just know that big companies will look be looking at your work which is huge! If you want nothing to do with him that is perfectly alright! we will keep you anonymous!
FOR THE VAS! > I have no clue how many words you'll be saying as the script isn't done, I have however written how many minutes you'll be speaking for, or at least my estimate of it and hey while you're reading this why not read the rules as well ;)

For VAs you need a mike, it is an absolute must for this show.
For animators please use quality animation programs. (sorry flipaclip will not cut it guys! :()
There is no nsfw it'll be pitched as a 12s Anime I'd say, there is a possibility for slight swearing (ass, shit) but nothing of a higher calibre.
The Theme of this show will be Self Acceptance with a minor theme of Masculinity which sounds odd but the show will break down gender stereo types subtly.
More about trove!
Trove is set in a world much like our own, but the big difference between us and our trove characters are gems. These gems are located somewhere on there body, the colour and gemstone type defermine your power and element. We see the world of trove through the eyes of the pessimistic Kate, he is an onyx couple gem. A couple gem is one gemstone out of two, they usually look deformed or like they are missing a part which they are, couple gems are one of the rarest gems and when they are reunited with their other half they have the chance of being immeasurably powerful. Although Kate has a fairly powerless gem, he has a couple one so a lot of opportunities have opened up for him. Kate himself hates everything that couple gems stand for as he knows without it he would sink far into the background. In this episode we will see Kate going into a new high end school and his struggles coping with only being know for the stone in his neck.

Once casted, you will start straight away. Will have to be open to learn in depth knowledge about the fantasy world trove is set in. Must have a willingness to work with the director aka me, as I want this project too go smoothly. Must have discord and be relatively active on there. It would be good if the writer had some previous experience with writing visual scripts, such as episodes of an animation or movie scripts, this is not necessary but would boost your chances of being chosen. for your task please write a flowing conversation between Fae and Kate, this conversation can take place anywhere but just remember they are school boys! Also if you have any other relative works that would show off your talents please do share!

The pilot is aiming to be 20 or so minutes long, (could be a few minutes more or a few minutes less) So you must prepare yourself for that. Must have discord and be relatively active. For this project I want my staff to go above and beyond, so please make this your best work so far! If you see a problem while editing please go out of your way to fix it! you will also need to know how to green screen as I am using both 3d and 2d models in this project.
For your task please just direct me to your previously edited videos (if would be great to see how you handle action scenes) and tell me what softwares you use to edit. I think this goes without saying but NO WATERMARKS!

First about payment, you'll be paid a set amount of 50 per mini scene, a perfect example is the trove intro that is linked above, if you animated the line art for that you would be paid 50. Hopefully you'll be working along side 3-6 animators so a set style will be put in place, but as long as your flexible in the anime genre you'll be perfect for the role. The fps has not been decided but it will not go above 12fps. There will be a lot of calls and check ups as you will have the biggest jobs, you will need to have discord and be active on it, you will also need be able to work along side other artists, you will be able to decide which scenes you want to animate alone side your fellow animators. For your Task please link your art portfolios and animations below.
Again this is an anime so I am not interested in any other styles.

For each mini scene you fully colour and shade you'll be paid 30. You'll have to make sure that when you import the line art there is no quality reduction. You'll hopefully be working along side 2-4 colourists. There will be meetings you'll have to attend so you must have and be active on discord.

I have a narration section done by Kate that explains the world to viewers. In this section I want a simple abstract animation 1-2 minutes long over the dialogue. It would be a zoom in into his eye and take place there.

Pinky is a fiery little man, who often get picked on by his friends (good naturedly). He's a yeller a whiner an all around loud mouth and person. He can be upset very easily.
Pinky [angry\ irritatated]-“I know I shouldn’tve dyed my hair that colour that nickname’ll stick longer then the hair!”
Pinky [even angrier than before]-“NNRRR do not call me fruity!”
Pinky[comfatble\mellow]- “Don’t mind if I doodle!”
Taro is on the villains side but you really would not think it... he is above all else nervy and scared.. for this he gets picked on religiously by his co-hoard Lassari. He is a loser and meek but he manages to stand up for himself from time to time.
Taro [egging him on]- “Too right Lassari!”
Taro [scoffing]- “Oh yes a common complaint,”
Taro [nervous]- "I am not too happy about this lass? you could say [yelling in fear] NOT TO HAPPY AT ALL?!"
Bonto is the third of the three henchmen working for the main antagonist. He is the most mature of the three. Bonto keeps to himself and when he speaks he always seems to be the voice of reason between Lassari and Taro. Bonto is in fact a Gentle giant and refuses to kill anyone himself.
Bonto [calm\agreeing]- “It is indeed Lass,”
Bonto [cold]- “could ask you the same question sunny…”
Bonto- “Probably because your pet name for him is the freak? Also Taro is playing see?” Bonto gives a rumbling laugh.
A masculine female. The classic pe teacher. Strong willed and perky. Act how. you see fit!
Light form teacher- “Right! That’s enough of that! Hope you all managed to finish if you didn’t please stay after class. Otherwise make your way out and leave your papers on your desk. Signed! And I hope to be seeing a few of you at the light form tryouts!”
Light form teacher [good natured]- “Ah boys! So good to see you!
Light form teacher [yelling] “Look if you’re here you know what to do, partner up and take a court!”
A gruff and time worn voice. He only shows love to his wife and although he tries to keep up a neutral/ positive demeanour it rarely show.
Dad [authoritative]- “Sit Kate.”
Dad [slightly derogatory]- “he’s dressing up and showing his best self… well,”
Dad- “Well, We knew you’d be embarrassed with us but we still needed a member of the family to see you off on your first day in the belly of the beast, even if she is an adopted one,”
Incredibly warm, positive and perky. An absolute joy to be around. She keeps the house hold a warm and nice place to be. Incredibly maternal and protective over her children.
Mum (cheery)- “Hey hero, where are you heading out so early,”
Mum- “Oh honey stop, he just wants to look approachable and fun, god knows he had problems in his middle school, this is a new start in one of the best schools around!”
Mum [feigning shock and awe]-“Surely not without breakfast honey!”

He’s the character that’s supposed to steal the show, I want a unique voice that draws your attention so just try things out! All I know is I want nothing deep, everything else? Dealers choice.

peppy is the perfect word to describe her. She is full of energy, extroverted and the life of the party. Even though she is boisterous she's a tough woman that can hold her ground. I'm imagining a lower sounding voice, nothing too high pitched. Also she's a loud, loud person.
