Project Overview
A professor at a museum has been murdered and a valuable Hindu manuscript has been stolen by someone impersonating The Shadow. While investigating at the museum, Lamont Cranston receives a phone call from the one who claimes himself to be The Shadow! Can Lamont Cranston find who this Fake Shadow is? Tune in to find out!

Professor Rice was one of four Professors who were translating a manuscript of Ancient Hindu Culture. He then had met his fate, killed by the one who claims to be The Shadow!

[Calm] Hello? No. No, I can’t speak to him. And please don’t put more calls through, operator. I am busy working and I don’t wish to be disturbed. Thank you [Hangs up the phone – Now Focused] Now let me see, where was I? The- Oh yes! [Begins writing]
[Concerned] Give you this manuscript? Why? Why that’s impossible! It’s not mine! It-It belongs to the museum! It’s a direct key to ancient Hindu culture!
[Worried] Now see here, I’ve always had a great respect for you, Shadow. You’ve always worked for the forces of good against the forces of evil. But now, you’re behaving like a common thief!

[Chipper] Well, not till they king of a better one!
Thank you! [Hands Lamont the Newspaper] Extra, extra! Entire north state buried by snowstorm! Read all about it!
Commissioner Weston is a wealthy, self-important, middle-aged man who is the commissioner of New York City's police department.
Weston is very much indebted to Cranston, as it was he who made the arrangements for the commissioner to join the Cobalt Club. With this friendship, Cranston is often called upon as a consultant on various cases that puzzle Weston. In turn this relationship benefits both parties, The Shadow receives privileged knowledge about a crime and Weston unwittingly seems capable of solving cases with surprising success.

[Determined] Well, that’s her opinion. Me, I think different. [Pause][Determined] I’ve always suspected that the Shadow was a criminal at heart!
[Stubborn] Otherwise why would he always remain invisible? Oh, I tell you, he’s a bad egg. This murder confirms it! [Pause] [Unsure] Well, it’s something that the professor was working on. Rice and three other scholars are employed by the cosmopolitan museum, specializing in well… uh… I don’t know, restoration, and recreation of ancient Hindu culture.

[Curious] Yes? What is it? [Pause] [Chipper] We seldom have visitors this late hour.
[Whispers] I must ask you to walk quietly, please. They do not like to be disturbed. [Pause] [Whispers] Shhh! This is their time to rest.
[Whispers] Those that you see about you. The statues. The paintings. Tires them you know, people staring at them through the day. [Pause] [Chipper/Whisper] Oh yes! Yes, they do. They know that I watch over them through the night. There is the door to the offices. I er… I must leave you here.

The missing manuscript was quite priceless in rarity, but its monetary value was slight indeed because any attempt to resell it, would bring immediate arrest. [Pause] I must confess that I do not know. You see, it was one section of a single volume that the four of us were translating. Each of us took one-quarter of the work.
*Screams in Fear* [Pause] I found him so, on the floor, dying. [Pause] Yes. He told me that his attacker was an invisible man, who called himself The Shadow.
