The Redcourt - PILOT
Project Overview
Planning to become an original animated show, but is right now just a concept for the pilot episode. This series contains language, gore, and fantasy violence, but mostly gore themes. Only allowing ages 14 and up.
Synopsis:
After losing everything at a casino in Scarborough, England, 36-year-old Edmund Graves is approached by a mysterious traveler named Fynland, who gives him a silver coin and tells him to throw it into Greenwood Lake if he wishes to change his fate. Desperate for a second chance, Edmund follows the stranger's instructions and is swept into Wonderland, a realm far different from the stories he remembers. Ruled by Queen of Hearts, Wonderland is preparing for the legendary Trials, a deadly competition where contestants battle through dangerous challenges for the opportunity to stand beside the Queen as a future ruler of the kingdom. Alongside fellow contestants Delta Fincher, Nikolai Lobonov-Rostovsky, Iris Obsidra, Björn Hartford, Alouette Hellebore, Orchid Samson, Rowan Wildes, and Kendrix Koa. Edmund must survive the schemes of the Duke of Clubs, evade the terrifying Ace of Spades, and uncover the truth behind Alice, a feared outcast said to lurk beyond Wonderland's borders. As secrets begin to unravel and contestants mysteriously disappear, Edmund realizes that winning the Trials may be far more dangerous than losing them—but can he uncover the truth of Wonderland before it consumes him forever?
Voice Actor
Edmund Graves is a 29-year-old man from Scarborough who finds himself thrown into the mysterious world of Wonderland after a devastating night at a casino. Reserved, observant, and somewhat cynical, Edmund isn't accustomed to relying on others, but the Trials force him to form bonds with the other contestants. Beneath his guarded exterior is a compassionate man who desperately wants a second chance at life. As the Trials grow more dangerous, Edmund must find the strength to keep moving forward—even when everything around him begins to change.
“Come on, Ed, you’ve got this.”
“After all that, is there even a way to change my decisions that I’ve made?”
“Wait! We might be overthinking this. It’s not just about finding our correct doors to escape the entities. If I’m correct, the mirrors mess with our minds. So the solution, if it exists, is to find a mirror that reflects the good memories.”
Voice Actor
Delta Fincher is a confident and fiercely independent contestant in the Redcourt Trials. Blunt, sarcastic, and never afraid to challenge someone, Delta doesn't easily trust others and prefers to handle problems herself. Despite her tough exterior, she genuinely cares about the people around her and gradually becomes one of Edmund's closest allies. Delta refuses to let fear control her, even when the Trials begin pushing her to her limits.
“These mirrors… they’re, ominous.”
“Leave them! There’s no time! (starts running away) C’mon Edmund!”
“(sarcastically) Uh huh. And what if your hunch is incorrect and the entities end up sealing our lives like Kendrix and Rowan?”
Voice Actor
Nikolai Lobanov-Rostovsky is an intelligent and calculating contestant who approaches the Trials like a puzzle. Calm and analytical, Nikolai rarely makes a decision without considering every possible outcome. His serious demeanor can make him seem distant, but he is far more compassionate than he initially lets on. As he grows closer to the other contestants, Nikolai begins to discover that not everything in Wonderland can be solved through logic alone. Nikolai also needs a Russian accent and will sometimes speak Russian.
“Wait, what are these, ‘Trials’, by your so-called, ‘Redcourt'?”
(Panic) “Вот дерьмо (Vot der’mo)! Run!”
“I suggest we split up. Yell if you find that exit. Sounds like a perfect plan to me.”
Voice Actor
“Ugh, lame. Nothing technological about this place at all.”
“If it would help, I have an easy way to hack into mechanical wiring.”
“(to Delta) X-ray Goggles, designed especially in situations where you're trapped with creepy mirrors in a mad, alternate universe. (realizes what she said). Actually, none of that fantasy has ever happened to me before.”
Voice Actor
Björn Hartford is a strong, dependable contestant who naturally takes on the role of protector. Despite his intimidating appearance, Björn is gentle, patient, and deeply caring toward the other contestants. He believes that strength is meant to protect people rather than control them. In a world where everyone is fighting for themselves, Björn tries to make sure nobody is left.
“Your majesty of hearts.”
“Huh, so apparently weapons CAN’T destroy the mirrors.”
“But how will we be able to find the exit if we’re too afraid of the reflections of the past? What if there’s no escape for us?”
Voice Actor
“Hmm, interesting.”
“Stressing only causes more panic, remember that.”
“(eyes start glowing) ‘All your dreams are within reach. All you have to do is keep moving towards them.’”
Voice Actor
Joaquin, the Duke of Clubs, is a powerful member of the Redcourt. Charming, sophisticated, and difficult to read, Joaquin has a talent for manipulating the people around him. He carries himself like someone who is always several steps ahead and rarely reveals what he is truly thinking. While he appears loyal to the Redcourt, his ambitions may not always align with those of the court.
“Madam, our contestants are arriving.”
“Oh, the Redcourt will thrive alright.”
“Death?! Following the footsteps of your mother now, I see. Well, she was a tyrant! (takes a deep breath) Sorry, I just hope for Wonderland never to be cursed and corrupted, that’s all.”
Voice Actor
“Welcome, all. To the newly found, ‘Redcourt Trials’!”
(Say any of these, the limit is 3) “Graves, Edmund!” “Fincher, Delta!” “Lobonov-Rostovsky, Nikolai!” “Obsidra, Iris!” “Hartford, Björn!” “Hellebore, Alouette!” “Samson, Orchid!” “Wildes, Rowan!” “Koa, Kendrix!”
“Joaquin, you’ve always been so dramatic. This is exactly what I anticipated.”
Voice Actor
“You want to fix the past? I have just the treat.”
“I don’t ask for anything in return, sir. Just hoping for everyone’s happiness.”
“Take this coin to Greenwood Lake, and throw it in the pond.”
Voice Actor
“On behalf of the Redcourt, I would like for you all, to give your greatest efforts in these trials.”
“Shout out to the Mad Hatter for finding the Redcourt Trials.”
(writes in diary) “If only I could tell them the truth. They would be able to see the true meaning of these intentions.”
Voice Actor
“Where the hell are we?!”
“Hey! You just crossed a line… (PAUSE) Creepy, slenderman monster.”
“Oh, we are so fucked.”
Voice Actor
“I see, us. And it looks like we’re out of the maze! We actually might have a chance!”
“Kendrix? Kendrix?! Where’d you go?”
"(choking sounds)"
Voice Actor
“Let’s stick together, before we get eaten up by this hell house.”
“They said you could open any mirror, right?”
"(blood-hurling scream)"
Voice Actor
“Good evening Wonderland! I’m your host, White Rabbit, bringing you to the sight of the Redcourt Trials.”
“The first trial the contestants face is… ‘The Maze of Distorted Mirrors’!”
“Koa, Kendrix, and Wildes, Rowan. (PAUSE) Eliminated.”
Voice Actor
“You're the first person in years to play against me in Blackjack.”
“Don’t get your hopes up. Ass will be kicked eventually.”
“Huh, childish move in the book.”
