The Reaper Who Fell From GRACE
Project Overview
A Reaper's Fall From GRACE is a two-season sci-fi drama in development. Two decades after the alien Inos landed on Earth, a young sergeant who believes in the force that raised him is pulled into its most feared unit, and starts hunting the Ino who wears his dead father's ring.
We're holding voice auditions for the main and supporting roles. Read the role descriptions on the next page, pick up to 3 roles, record the audition lines for each, and send us links to your recordings.
You must be 18 or older to audition. The series includes violence, grief and mature themes.

Lead · Male · plays 20–25
A newly promoted global police sergeant who believes in GRACE, the force that raised him. He's calm, protective and quietly funny, the kind of leader who talks a riot down instead of shooting into it. When his best friend dies, something wakes up in him that nobody knew was there, and he's pulled into the most feared unit in the world.
Voice: Warm, steady, mid-range. Has to move from easy authority to raw grief and rage.
(Calm, to a frightened crowd) "Nobody here has to get hurt tonight. Rifles down. Hands where they can see them. We all walk out of here breathing."
(Quiet, shaken) "That's my father's ring. I've looked at that ring in a photo every night for twelve years."

Reaper #2, a colonel at 23, and GRACE's most powerful mind reader. She hears everyone's thoughts, so she keeps one headphone in and most people at arm's length. She's the General's flawless protégé, and Levi is the first person in years who doesn't flinch from her.
Voice: Soft and controlled, with a Texas accent mostly trained out of it. It slips back when she's tired, angry or laughing.
(Clinical) "I'm going to read your mind now. Try not to think about anything you'd hate for me to see."
(Quiet, looking out at the city) "The eagle. I've never told anyone about the eagle."

A runner from the Seams, the slums along the human–Ino border. She's the fastest thing on two legs, and every sprint breaks her bones. Defiant and blunt, she's always the one who says what nobody else will, especially about GRACE.
Voice: Quick, street-sharp and sardonic. She speaks some of the Ino tongue.
"Speed like his always costs. Mine breaks bones. His has to break something."
"This whole hunt smells like the General. He's the one who gave you the chain, Levi. That's what I mean."

The rookie on Levi's squad: a goofy, brilliant tech kid who laughs at the wrong moments and took apart his building's security panel at eleven. He hero-worships his sergeant, and he becomes the brother Levi never had.
Voice: Bright, fast and youthful, with comic timing that can turn tender on a dime.
"Okay, technically I wasn't supposed to take the drone apart. But technically, it flies better now. So who's the real criminal here?"
(Softly) "Hey. Come back."

The General of GRACE, Reaper #1, and the most famous man alive: the only Monarch the public knows by name, with golden fire to prove it. He raised Levi after Levi's father died. Every word he says is chosen, and some of them are true.
Voice: Low, unhurried and precise. He never raises it, because he has never needed to.
"There's a part of GRACE you were never meant to see. You're a Reaper now."
(After a long pause) "Take it back."

Reaper #3, a shapeshifter who can take any face, voice and body. She's playful, charming and deeply unsettling: she asks personal questions with a smile and calls Levi "little Sergeant." Nobody is ever sure which face is really hers.
Voice: Soft, light and amused. A bonus if you can shift convincingly between several voices.
(Having just worn someone else's face) "Just checking what you're made of."
(Standing too close) "You don't even know whose son you are, little Sergeant."

An Ino fighter GRACE can't identify: no name, no face in any system, and faster than anything Levi has ever fought. He's young, furious and contemptuous of humans, and he wears something around his neck that Levi would do anything to get back.
Voice: Quick and clipped, with an Ino cadence on certain vowels. He says "human" the way other people say "disease."
(Mid-fight) "Your GRACE kills babies in hospitals and calls it mercy."
"You protect them? Then why are you wearing that uniform?"

Heir to the Ino throne, a Monarch telepath, and the woman's voice that has haunted Levi's dreams since he was a child. She's gentle and endlessly patient, and she carries a grief she has never been allowed to show. Much of her performance is a voice inside someone else's head.
Voice: Warm, clear and calm, with an otherworldly stillness.
(Barely there, pleading) "Please hear me."
(Finally face to face) "I've been calling you your whole life."

Captain Valera, Levi's academy instructor and the closest thing he has to a mother. She's warm and wise, and laughs easily with her cadets. She served beside Levi's father, and she carries something from those years that she has never told anyone.
Voice: Warm and measured, with steel underneath.
"Duty isn't the uniform, Levi. It's what you do when nobody's watching you wear it."
(Pale, almost to herself) "Who sent the second team, Levi?"

The squad's veteran: steady, dependable and kind, the one who keeps the rookies alive. He's raising his little sister, who lives in long-term care, and he would do anything to keep her safe.
Voice: Grounded and warm, a big-brother voice with weight underneath it.
"Kid, the day you stop being scared out there is the day I send you home."
(Over comms, meaning it) "I'll look after her."
