Project Overview

Story:

The Girl Named Parker, is about two guys named Max and Sage, who are childhood best friend that moved to go to university. Meeting a girl named Parker in their apartment building, who happens to go to the same university. The boys quickly fall for her, resulting in them gradually splitting apart. Both of them fight for the same girl using their made up insults like, "optical yeti," or  "jelly wobbling plankton," but who will win in the end? The sweetheart Max, or the cool Sage?      

Length:

- 166 pages long, in audio drama format. 

- 24 Scene, 1 per week 

- This project will be a one off

  • Casting

    Thank you all of you for auditioning for my project, The Girl Named Parker. If you haven't already, I suggest that you check out my other project On Her Steps, and my friends project Newt The Necromancer Gnome. As of this moment (Friday 15th at 12:18 PM PST) I am starting the casting and rejecting stages, as over the next 24 hours I won't be home or available due to important life events, so as I have the next 2 hours free I will get to work. If any of you do get this before the actual deadline (Saturday 16th, time unknown) you can still re-audition as I am not actually casting anyone until after the due date ends, I am only going through and filtering

Characteristics:

Parker is very optimistic, cheerful and unique. She is a very creative soul, loving anything art related and she shows it, she wears it for lack of better words. She is always hoping for the best and is always wanting to keep those around her happy. She is usually really happy and cheerful, cheerful enough that she can cheer anyone up but she does have other emotions and they usually are strong and just. She's very unique, a personality that you would see in one of million.

Voice Notes:

Parker has a higher pitch then the normal female vocal range, and is usually a very comforting and cheerful tone  

Other:

Parker is the love interest of both Sage and Max, and she really likes both of them as friends and sometime something more. She's not a very big fan of Angelica, Eric and Brock but thinks of Alex as a close friend when they eventually meet.

Characteristics:

Max is know as a worrywart, and he is at times, but he is also caring and sweet. Max tends to pay attention to the little details and think of them as big problems but at the same time caring about what the other people are thinking or going through. He isn't a push over and does hold grudges, for a long time. One thing is is that he self pities too much at times, and is willing to give in or up at the lip of a hat  

Voice Notes:

He is a young 18-19 year old, who has a medium to high raged voice, only being slightly higher then normal but it is a little bit of a softer one  

Other:

He is best friend with Sage, but over time he loses that friendship. He has a crush on Parker, and is friends with Alex.

    You sure? You don’t want to forget something, then have to come all the way back here to get it. Like your favorite shirt.

  • (Moderate Monologue, Awestruck, Intrigued) 

    That girl, she was so… Bright, her dirty blond hair sitting on her shoulder, her outfit was eye-catching, like thousands of paints being splattered across her clothes in a messy but beautiful way. It was like she did care what others thought, I wish I could be like that. Just let other people’s words roll off. I only saw her for a second but I just wish I could talk to her, meet her. That would be amazing, but how would I? Would I accidentally run into her, or see her at a party. Oh! Maybe she goes to the same university! I wonder what she’s like!

Characteristics:

Sage is very patient, calm, but he is always wanted to fit in and be decently popular. In high school, Sage gave that all up to be friends with Max. He got it all easily being from a small town, but going to university is different.  There is new people, new pressure, new everything, and that deep down urge gets the better of him. He is still calm and patient at times but he tries to please everyone else and be who they want him to be.

Voice Notes:

Sage is 18, turning nineteen. He has a medium to deep pitch, and his tone is usually pretty mellow

Other:

Sage is friends with almost all the characters at some point in the story. He starts off being close friends with Max, but that begins fade. Parker he has a massive crush on, just like Max does, and he is friends with Angelica, Eric and Brock. not really knowing Alex. He does look up to Brock as a role model which gets him into trouble at times.    

  • (Slightly teasing, Casual, Happy) 

    You really are a jelly wobbling plankton. 

  • (Moderate to long monologue, Calm, Reflecting)

    After Max’s ‘little scene,’ the night went smoothly. I did think that he was a little on edge or tense, but that’s Max. A party isn’t really his scene, and never will be one. But he could have at least calmed down a bit, I mean man he was almost looking for a fight. Max’s is normally a calm and cool-headed guy. Wonder what pissed him off. Parker, on the other hand, is like a social butterfly, so graceful and spectacular. She almost makes a room brighter just by shedding a laugh or a simple smile, but one that’s true to the bone, you know? I am so glad that Max invited me even if he was a little iffy.

Characteristics:

Alex is a good realistic point of view. They aren't really apart of all the craziness going between the three leads, so they add a realistic comparison and point of view. Alex is seen as smart and tolerant. 

Voice Notes:

Alex is a character who doesn't have a specific gender, because the character is either doesn't identify as either or gender fluid. Any voice type could work for this character so feel free to do many different takes or auditions. The pictured voice type for males is a softer voice, and for females a bit deeper, but again feel free to experiment 

Other:

Alex is only really seen with Max and Parker, and they see both as a friends, though they get upset or  annoyed with their stupid little games or statements at time, seeming to put up with. He isn't really fond of Sage either.

Characteristics:

Angelica is very cute, she loves drama and gossip. She loves making everything about her and revealing big juicy bits of gossip. She is very implosive and doesn't know whats right from wrong, which is why Eric is great for her because he helps her stay within the correct path. 

Voice Notes:

The of Angelica is higher, it should be able to show most if not all of her personality. Her voice should be powerful and cheerful.

Other:

Brock, Sage and Eric are her friends, she doesn't really mind Max, know Alex and she looks up to Parker. Eric is her boyfriend, and she doesn't really like Brock thinks of him as too controlling.

Characteristics:

Chill, that's the only word that I can think of when I think of Eric. He is constantly chill and when he is not he is worried about something or trying to make up for Angelica, his girlfriend.

Voice Notes:

Eric is in his 19 and he has a deep-medium voice topic, he is younger so it's still not deep deep  but it is moderately

Other:

He is friends with Brock's group, aka Brock, Sage and Angelica. He knows of Parker and he doesn't really care about her. He does have a girlfriend who he loves, which is Angelica. He is also supportive of Sage and tries to protect him at points like a friend.

Controlling, Uninterested and Bossy. Brock is the ring leader of his group of friends, and he rules by fear and pressure. He isn't seen as the villain in the series but he is seen as a nasty guy

He has a deep roughish voice. He is 19

Other:

He is friends with Eric, Angelica, and Sage. He thinks of all of his friends as expendable. He isn't a fan of Parker and want her out of his life, but he would still rather have sage not react about things to do with her, so he avoids that.
