Doctor Who: The Fourteenth Doctor Adventures
Project Overview
A twelve-episode series of full-cast Doctor Who audio dramas, featuring a new Doctor and an enthusiastic production team. Looking for actors for companions, recurring characters, and other roles. Please drop a private message if you'd also be interested in any general background roles not advertised. POC and gender-diverse actors encouraged to apply!
Any actor accepted also has the possibility to come back for other supporting roles (not just the ones they were cast in) in future stories, if they so desire. (The deadline is around June/July, but CCC won't let me display that unless I go premium.) All roles are unpaid. This is purely a passion project and volunteer work.
The series follows a newly-regenerated 14th Doctor trying to overcome her grief at her previous selfs' companions all dying in her final moments before regeneration. She starts out brooding and angry at the universe, outright rejecting companions at first. Until she meets Emma Wilson, a young transgender woman from the 21st century. (The part of Emma has already been cast.) The TARDIS itself forces her to take her onboard, and she finally begins to overcome her grief. Now with someone else to share her excitement with, the Doctor once again sets off to see the most beautiful sights in the universe.
Of course, like the tagline says: there's a bit more to it than that.

We need a sound designer to edit the individual actor's lines together in a scene, as well as add SFX. The program used for it is irrelevant, so long as it nets relatively professional reults. Samples of previous work is a huge plus.
Say something you think would fit
A hardass rebel leader type. Doesn't appreciate the Doctor coming in and taking over the group where he finally found acceptance. (Appears in episode 2. Black actors only please.)
We have to stay alive. Look, I'm sorry, but we haven't all survived this long by being stupid. We won't turn you in, but we won't help, either.
I was fired. And I went on the run.
I found this group, and I was actually valued here. I became the leader. I was an authority, and people knew to listen to me. And for the first time in all twenty three years of my life, I was happy.
Sure, we face death every day if we're found, we're on constant alert, and we never know where the next meal is coming from, but I can handle all of that.
And then I see public enemy numbers one and two on the news, and the very next day, like an idiot, I save them. And now they just sit here and undermine my authority at every opportunity!
I'm sorry to have to do this. As you know, we lost a good man today. One of our best. He died a hero. Without him we could have never sent out the warning broadcast. I'm sure it's saved a few lives already. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
The second-in-command of the rebel group. Larance's trusted advisor, and the voice or reason to the group. (Appears in episode 2.)
We just sort of... find people. If we come across someone, we invite them into the group. It's backfired, occasionally. We try and see the best in people though. I think most of them need all the help they can get.
I'm not sure I believe all this stuff about Cybermen and invasions to be honest. And even if it's all true, well... what are we supposed to do about it?
We find the weakest structural point and blow it up, of course. We have to hope we have enough explosives for it. That's why we brought them, after all.
The tech expert of the rebels led by Larance. (Appears in episode 2. Asian actors only please.)
We're refusers. Anti-augs. We can't live in society up there, it's too frowned upon. Loads of us go on the run, we sort of form our own communities.
Funding didn't exactly run out. That's just what they tell the public. In reality, Syron Industries didn't like the idea of people living within the vicinity of their precious headquarters. Said they wanted to remain prestigious, something everyone had to travel for. Well, with what we know now, I doubt that was their motivation. Probably didn't want people to get too close so they'd be able to resist.
Doctor, is this the end? I can feel myself... going. Getting hard to remember anything. I can't remember my wife's name. Oh, gods, I can't even remember my name.
The unwanted tag-along to Larance's group. Kept alive more out of pity than anything else. Tactless and abrasive, a thorn in everyone's side, though he doesn't mean to be. (Appears in episode 2.)
[WHINING] I can't walk much further, I think I'm going to collapse. All this gear is heavy. You're lucky. You don't have to carry a bag of all your personal belongings, a sleeping bag, and a weapon. I can't even fire it!
You never got done telling us about yourself. Please, carry on, at least that's not completely, dreadfully boring.
Going back into town? Yeah, brilliant idea, public enemy number two. You'll never be recognized.
The realist of Larance's rebel group. A bit of a daredevil at times. They're non-binary, so NB actors are preferred. (Appears in episode 2.)
I'm not high-profile like you guys are. I don't think I'll draw attention. Look, it's getting dark, I don't think we have time to argue about this. I'll try and look at what the broadcasts are saying about us.
As for how the gang got started, well.... We hear stories about people going on the run, we have no other options left, and we follow. I don't even know how common it is. Maybe most people just struggle on their own. Maybe those of us who found the group are just lucky. Maybe there are other groups. Who knows? All I know is that without each other, we'd be dead.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired. Turns out that walking for miles and jumping off buildings is exhausting.
A stand-in companion for the Doctor. Works on a scientific research ship as a representative for "the company," though he'd rather not. Curious, intelligent, and not easily bossed around. (Appears in episode 3. Black actors only please.)
I'm supposed to report on every minor "infraction" here. But honestly? I don't. I detest the company as much as anyone. Probably more. Their business practices are even worse than people think. I'd give anything to get away from it.
Shouldn't we be running from the killer robots? Not climbing into the airlock?!
If we survive, we can travel together. I want to see it all Doctor. The stars, the rest of the universe. That spacewalk was a taste of something fantastic. Something I've been missing all my life.
The over-controlling captain of a scientific expedition. Tries to frame the Doctor for murder, despite being the obvious suspect herself. (Appears in episode 3.)
You "just" blew up the engine? That was my job you just ruined! I'm captain of this station. Without a station, what am I captain of?!
Everyone, meet up in the common area immediately. Suspend all active duties. It's an emergency. Ima is... she's dead. Oh, and we have a stowaway. Calls herself the Doctor.
Oh, we can't think you're the killer? You were found over her smoking corpse, you're not on the crew list, and you've given at least two false accounts of how you got here. I'd say that's pretty damn suspicious.
Catrina's expedition's scientific advisor and engineer. Instrumental in defeating the monster-of-the-week. (Appears in episode 3. Middle-Eastern actors only please.)
She seems to have knocked the desk over when she fell. The floor's a mess. Looks like we have another corpse.
We just entered night shift. Lighting drops, the systems go to low power, all that sort of thing. It's entirely dependent on when we're on the dark side of the planet, but it mostly lines up with a normal circadian rhythm. We're on solar power, which means basically running on empty. Which means now we have a chance against that... thing.
You think we just have spare parts for a time machine on board? Doctor, the company is full of penny-pinchers. The clocks on this thing hardly work properly. I should know, I've tried to fix them often enough.
Catrina's expedition's technician. A bit annoying. Quick to turn against the Doctor and accuse her of murder. Is most likely to lead a mutiny against Catrina. (Appears in episode 3.)
Maybe the captain here did it? I know she hates it if we're not fully productive at all times. Have to work ourselves into the ground we do, or we're slacking.
Guys? Hello? I just took a look around in the cabin again to see if there was anything else missing. Unlock the door please. I think there's something in here with me. And not just another body.
Catrina's expedition's chef. Gets cannon fodder-ed before she has a chance to shine. (Appears in episode 3. This is a smaller role, though if you are interested and available there will be the potential for bigger roles in future stories. )
How can that thing not be a weapon? She's standing over a smoking corpse.
Another stand-in companion. A high-ranking Aztec warrior during the Spanish invasion. In love with Yazaretzi, but can't publicly show it due to his position. (Appears in episode 4. Hispanic actors preferred.)
A god? Of course she isn’t! A god would never show themself with this… ludicrous appearance!
We’ll take her back to your place and hide her until midday. I’ll take her to the temple by myself. If anyone questions me, I’ll say I found her snooping around the camp and think she’s a Spanish spy. If she moves against us, we kill her.
Leave me behind then, Doctor! I will fight and die honourably. Get away. And... save somebody in my honour, will you?
Another stand-in companion. Etalcui's love interest. A bit too superstitious, believes anything inexplicable is from the gods without a second thought. (Appears in episode 4. Hispanic actors preferred.)
Etalcui… what should we do with her? Is chaining up a god not blasphemy?
Any sign of your divinity would truly be a blessing upon us, my lady!
If he is in danger as you say then please, give him a blessing. Make sure he survives the battle. I couldn't bear to be without him.
Orberaz is a snake-like commander of the Kezwetazan spaceship, and ssssssspeaks as ssssssuch. His race is obsessed with selling anything they can. Their mission is to reclaim property stolen by a certain Time Lord. (Appears in episode 4.)
We have reason to believe that a renegade Time Lord is hiding here. They have stolen hundreds of thousands of credits worth of premium weapons from us. They must be found and the investment recouped.
Our dealings with the human race are… limited. We haven’t had the chance to… dissect one of them before. But now, well...
Now you mention it, it is an… interesting prospect. I haven’t had the delight of Time Lord flesh before. You have two options: bring back everything you stole, in full working order, or die. Painfully.
An Elon-Musk-style billionaire with an ego the size of a small planet. Is masterminding the Cyberman invasion of Earth through his company, Voltt. (Appears in episode 5.)
I can hear the voices of the Cybermen, Doctor. And soon you and the girl will too. Take them to the conversion chamber.
Soon we will have control of the Earth’s factories and resources. We will create our army anew. And you will be our first customer.
Voltt is proud to announce our brand new partnership between us and the Cybermen! They're a bit... foreign. But don't worry. I'm told their technology has a way of growing on you sooner or later.
A victim of the Cyberconversion process from Voltt. (Appears in episode 5. This is a smaller role, though if you are interested and available there will be the potential for bigger roles in future stories. )
Help me? Can you make the voice stop? I can hear it… can never stop hearing it. Over and over and over in my head. Every night. Every day. Every second. "They are not like us. You will become like us. You will make them become like us."
A concerned, motherly neighbor. (Appears in episode 5. This is a smaller role, though if you are interested and available there will be the potential for bigger roles in future stories. )
Issac? Sorry dear, you've got the wrong house. I'm his neighbour. Though I've just been popping in the past few days to see if the poor love's needing anything. Are you family? He's only seeing family you know. His health's not great, poor thing.
Isaac, love, these two women are here from the insurance company to speak to you. (TO EMMA) I'll just leave you all to it – got to nip to the shops for me odds and sods. (TO ISAAC) I'll pop in later with your paper, love. See you later.
The president of an Earth colony under attack by living trees. Refuses to listen to the Doctor and Emma. (Appears in episode 6.)
We have pesticide on hand, we could load it into one of the helicopters and air dump it on the forest. Wipe it out, like the original colonists. I don't want a single one of those monsters left alive.
A guess? We can’t base the future of the colony off a guess. I'm giving the order.
A soldier on a future Earth colony. Dislikes president Paxton, but still follows his orders. (Appears in episode 6. POC actors preferred.)
There used to be loads to do here. The Vermilion Waterfalls, the Slightly-Less-Grand-Than-The-One-On-Earth Canyon, the sqwakling migration in summer. All destroyed now, thanks to president Paxton.
Look, I know how you feel about guns. But I have my orders. Open fire!
Yeah, it's dead. We shot at it? You want to know why, Doctor? Because I'm a soldier! It's my job! If you didn't want to see a corpse today, then you shouldn't run around with the only military force on the planet. Go find someone else to be high-and-mighty over.
A soldier on a future Earth colony. Is on the Doctor's side, though nobody listens to her. Still quick to violence. She is a soldier, after all. (Appears in episode 6. This is a smaller role, though if you are interested and available there will be the potential for bigger roles in future stories.)
With all due respect mister president, the Doctor did find the only piece of evidence so far. It may be worth listening to her.
Look, I know how you feel about guns. But I have my orders. Open fire!
It's a good thing we followed you. You two would be dead without us. And I'd rather have you alive than that... thing.
An unbelievable moron, but the Doctor and Emma's only hope of escaping the bizarre alternate dimension they're trapped in. (Appears in episode 7, with a small appearance in episode 8.)
Personally, I think you made the right choice. My brother is a horrible idiot. He’s always losing arguments. I'm just too intelligent for him. I once asked him to prove gravity existed, and he gave up speaking to me for 3 days. He must have realized he couldn't match my intelligence.
I’m not stupid! You’re just too stupid to appreciate my genius. Future generations will; I’ll go down in the history books.
'Course, I can't read them if I do. Never learned how.
I… I think I'm beginning to remember who I am. I can see faces, and I know how they are but… I can’t remember their names. ...Do I stay like this forever, Doctor? Not knowing who I am?
Poe has been kidnapped by a mysterious alien race, taken out of his place in time just days before his recorded death. He's trapped with the Doctor and Emma in a mysterious alternate dimension with seemingly no way out, pursued by monsters of his own making. (Appears in episodes 7 and 8.)
This is my last story. I don’t know where I got the pen and paper I write upon. The only things in this room is a solitary candle and the bed I lie upon. I can see a door, but I have not the strength to move to it and see what lies beyond. Curiously, I found the pen and paper inside the tattered remains of my jacket, despite having no recollection of carrying them.
This will be a very dull story. This is a story about me. But, more interestingly, a story of two of the most wonderful women I’ve ever met.
This is the last story of Edgar Allan Poe.
As he took my baggage, I was not to know that it would be the last time I would lay eyes upon my possessions. It’s not something one thinks of very often, but there must, inevitably, be a last time where one sees the objects, the small mementos that make up his life, for the last time. For me, that time was now.
I think I’m beginning to understand. This whole ordeal - this has been some form of battle of the wills against this… Teller of the Port?
A Doctor-wannabe renegade Time Lord. On her 9th incarnation, having abandoned her previous awful title of “the Healer.” Not as smart as the Doctor, thinks she is. Massive fangirl. The Doctor couldn't despise her more. She means well, but has no clue what she's doing. Often ends up making everything worse. Has accidentally picked up a wife, Lynn.
She's very flippant about her own inadequacies, seeming to breeze past her ~50% mortality rate in saving people. (Appears in episodes 7, 8, and 11, with a small cameo in 12. Will definitely appear in future seasons.)
(OVERJOYED) The Doctor? They’re here? Which one? Is it the short blonde one? I liked her a lot. She didn't like me, but, well, they never show it. Come on, let's go! She'll be thrilled to meet her biggest fan in the universe!
Edgar Allan Poe? Never heard of you, sorry chief. Now, hand over that book.
I was brought up on legends of the Doctor. My first incarnation, I studied TARDIS mechanics until I got a job in the Capitol working on them. I said my goodbyes to the few people I had to, then stole a TARDIS and ran away. Just like the Doctor! I went around on mostly random coordinates and saved people at first. I wasn't very good, but, well, practice makes perfect. I'm now down to just about a 50% mortality rate! Give or take a 15% margin of error.
The wife of the renegade wannabe-Doctor Time Lord Ava, and is her voice of reason. Something she desperately needs. Lynn is an Alphordian, a race of telepathic amphibians. She was a famous scientist back on her home planet, where she and Ava met.
(Appears in episodes 7, 8, and 11, with the possibility to return in future seasons, should it be desired. Black actors only, please.)
The Doctor? Oh, it’s great to finally meet you in person. I’ve learned so much about you. Endlessly. Day in and day out.
That machine captures a brain print of a subject and quickly extracts the parts required, then atomizes the body, which is repurposed as fuel for the ship. It's horrible. I never wanted anyone to use my research for... this.
Emma, I know her desperation is annoying both of you. But she is getting better.
She had just regenerated before coming to me. She said that she was trying to get away from being in the Doctor’s shadow, and this was a fresh start. See, I knew “the Healer,” but I didn’t know Ava. And she has gotten better and less… obsessive. She’s come a long way. I think I was the first person she ever opened up to in all her lives.
A historical figure, and one of the Doctor's best friends. An underappreciated genius in the future, responsible for finding a revolutionary method for purifying water and saving hundreds of lives. This isn't his first time encountering weird sci-fi stuff. (Appears in episode 8. Black actors only, please.)
You must be the Doctor, right? Delighted to meet you. Again. Tell me, how's my life threatened this time?
Doctor, I know you're not supposed to do things like this. But please, if I'm rushing into danger with you... is this it? Do I die? Please. I have to know the future. I can't leave my family behind without me. They'll never make it.
I'll be fine! I have to do this! I still have a chance to survive, don't I? Time can be rewritten, you always told me that! So come on, rewrite this!
Because I really, really don't want to die today.
Emma's best friend for years, now her roommate. Knew her before she transitioned, completely supportive. A massive sci-fi nerd. He'd travel with the Doctor, if only she wouldn't put them all in life-threatening danger every time thy stepped out the doors. (Appears in episode 9 and 12. Will definitely come back in future seasons.)
(ENTHUSIASTIC) Woah. What’s that thing? A proper robot? That's amazing! And you were just not going to let the rest of us in on this?
Oh, we've just been doing the usual while you were gone. Studying, football practice, hanging out with the others. Adriana and Luke were super worried about you too. You should text everyone to let them know you’re alright. Maybe leave out the bit about the time machine though.
Does the D in TARDIS stand for dimension, or dimensions? I hate to be pedantic, but a time machine would need to travel through the dimensions relative to time too, wouldn’t it? Because planets move, so if you just went backwards in time you’d just hover in space. Are you sure you know what you're talking about?
Emma's other roommate. Prone to hysteria in stressful situations. Skeptical of the Doctor. (Appears in episode 9 and 12. Will definitely come back in future seasons.)
You expect me to believe you hold the secret to time travel in a police box? And you didn't think to mention it? Get real, Emma.
I'm not just some test subject, Doctor! You seem to think us mere mortals are below you. You come in here, boss us around, and steal one of my friends for a week without so much as a chance to say goodbye, and I'm supposed to be happy about that?
Oh God. So what am I supposed to do then? Go to a hospital? They were saying there’s no cure. Am I going to die? Become one of those things out there?
Part of UNIT, investigating symptoms of a mysterious disease spreading across the UK. Very "shoot first, question later" type. (Appears in episode 9. POC actors preferred.)
I didn't just call you to exchange pleasantries, Doctor. There’s something else. People are on the move here. I’m at a hospital near your location. We have a few soldiers standing by, we can pick you up and send you over here if you want. I'd advise caution though - they already killed a few people.
This is a hospital, surrounded by an unknown threat. I have a duty to protect the people in there! Don't you dare imply that those - those things are citizens again! They aren't anymore! They've mutated into something inhuman. Subhuman. Open fire!
If they're a hivemind, and this is their command center, then I know what I have to do. Out of my way. I'm not afraid to fire. Not even at you, Doctor.
The Roman empress, though assigned male at birth. Is selling out their empire to an alien race due to being easily bribed. (Appears in episode 10. Trans or non-binary actors and actresses preferred.)
Oh, I think we’re heard quite enough out of you, Jhavius. Unless you concede to my demands then it’s over. You can take your people and get out of my empire, before we drive you away by force!
I doubt she can threaten our plans my darling. The woman is a fool, and I doubt she’s a noble at all. No, I feel confident the aliens will heed my demands. It’s just a matter of time.
There’s no negotiation to be had here. As I’ve made perfectly clear before, I will never change my mind on this, no matter what any of my advisors say. And certainly not because of you. Speak to me once more and I shall feed you and your friend to the lions, Doctor.
A Vraiusian, a race trying to settle on Earth during the 3rd century AD. A simple merchant, looked down upon by his peers in The Company. (Appears in episode 10.)
We used to be simple merchants, bartering with each other. We had everything we wanted, lived in harmony, you know the story. And then the king died. Assassinated, they said he was. Of course, there was no proof. Died in front of his vidset. No bullet holes, no poison, no trace. They never found out who set in motion the downfall of our planet. The next in line to the throne was Gumaelsius. Didn’t want to live in his father’s shadow, wanted to shake things up. So he uprooted our entire way of life. Outlawed bartering, introduced money, jobs, and awkward water cooler conversations about the big game. Was wildly unpopular at first, but our technology advanced even further under him. People like me are a rarity now.
All I wanted was a peaceful life on this planet. Surely you can't take that away from me, Doctor? I want the company gone as well, but surely there's another way. Please. They'll kill me.
I think you misunderstood me. It’s a corporation ship, but not all of us work for them. I’m a trader, as is everybody outside the palace. We were permitted passage here by the Corporation. So long as we can pay. A lot of us came here to start a new life. Go back to the old traditions. Some of us still practice in the little habitable environment left outside the cities. I came here to esacpe the new regime. They killed my family. I'm the only one left.
The mother of the Doctor's companion Emma, who she had cut out of her life. Both her parents refused to support her when she transitioned, and she's gone two years without speaking to either of them. Until the universe faces imminent destruction. And bizarrely, her parents have a key role to play in avoiding it. (Appears in episode 12, may appear a few times in future seasons.)
(CONTEMPTUOUSLY) What have you done with yourself? Good lord, I'm so glad you've kept away from us all this time.
You think we're going to go with you to do what? Roger and I can't even bear looking at you. Get out. And don't ever come back.
A time machine? You're even more delusional than I thought. I pray to God that you see the light of reason soon.
The father of the Doctor's companion Emma, who she had cut out of her life. Both her parents refused to support her when she transitioned, and she's gone two years without speaking to either of them. Until the universe faces imminent destruction. And bizarrely, her parents have a key role to play in avoiding it. (Appears in episode 12, may appear a few times in future seasons.)
Oh, so you come crawling back to us at last, do you son?
You want our help? Why should we? You abandoned us. We tried to tell you what a mistake you were making and you pugged your ears and ran off. You deserve nothing.
Sophie 492 lives in a world where the corporate overlords decide every rule, including what people are allowed to wear. Not purchasing enough from the corporations is a crime tantamount to treason. It's also a crime Sophie is guilty of. The city's robotic police officers chase her down and corner her, before a freshly regenerated Doctor accidentally comes to her rescue. By crashing a TARDIS on top of them. Sophie takes her in, and helps her adjust to this new world while they wait for the TARDIS to show up. Sophie has always dreamed of traveling the world, and now that dream will come true. Except, on her first adventure, the TARDIS merely travels in time instead of space. They land back on her planet 20 years in the future, where the Cybermen have risen. In the end, they're defeated, and Sophie decides to stay behind to help rebuild her world.
(EXPLAINING) "It's an acronym. It stands for Mobile Interface and Legal Termination Officer N-Class. They can connect you to various bits of technology across the world, like a walking ATM, but they also act as law enforcement. They can only follow orders, they have no free will or reasoning."
(EXASPERATED) "Doctor, we've been walking for hours. We have to be far away enough now, we're in the middle of nowhere."
(INSISTENT) "Doctor, we need to move, now!"
Laura is in a relationship with the Doctor's first companion, Emma. She's suspicious of Emma's mysterious disappearances and odd excuses, and eventually follows her into the TARDIS. She's initially awestruck by the many wonders of the universe, but isn't the most athletic of people. She continues to get into life-threatening situations, and her relationship to the Doctor and Emma gets more strained. She eventually reaches her breaking point, and demands the Doctor take her home.
(CONCERNED) "Emma.... I've barely seen you in weeks. Just - I just need to know that you're okay. I need to know that WE'RE okay..."
(SHOCKED/EXCITED) "This place... this place is mad! And you're telling me it travels in time?!"
(ANGRILY) "I don't know what you're playing at but I want no part in it, Doctor! Take. Me. Home."
Jim Griswold is a young man from the bustling world of Verratocia, a city in the midst of an industrial revolution. This industrial revolution is helped by the fact that aliens just can't seem to stop invading, and the government keeps trying to reverse-engineer the technology they pick up. Jim began to work in the factories at a young age, up until two years ago when he was conscripted in the Unwavering National Inquisition Taskforce in the fight against the increasing number of alien invasions. One of these invasions was more successful then most, and broke through their front lines. It would have destroyed the planet, had the Doctor not been there to stop it. He joins her, Emma, and Laura, where he's the muscle of the team. His soldier discipline always irritates the Doctor, and they clash frequently.
(INTRIGUED) "Oi, you three! Come get a look at this! Looks like one of those gizmos you were on about, Doctor!"
(HORRIFIED) "Verratocia (pronounced VER-RAH-TOE-SHA)... they... they're burning it.... Doctor, they're going to destroy my planet!"
(SOFTLY) "Put the gun down... you don't wanna shoot us. I know you're scared but you need to listen to us. I'm Jim, she's the Doctor - we followed your distress call - we're here to help."
