Jim Griswold is a young man from the bustling world of Verratocia, a city in the midst of an industrial revolution. This industrial revolution is helped by the fact that aliens just can't seem to stop invading, and the government keeps trying to reverse-engineer the technology they pick up.  Jim began to work in the factories at a young age, up until two years ago when he was conscripted in the Unwavering National Inquisition Taskforce in the fight against the increasing number of alien invasions.  One of these invasions was more successful then most, and broke through their front lines. It would have destroyed the planet, had the Doctor not been there to stop it. He joins her, Emma, and Laura, where he's the muscle of the team. His soldier discipline always irritates the Doctor, and they clash frequently.
