Team 5 ~ A Pokemon Fan Project

Project Overview

Thank you so much for showing interest in working with us here at CitrusClips! We’re currently looking to add more members to our team! There’s a variety of different things we need help with on our Pokemon Mystery Dungeon-inspired animatic series Team 5, and we’d love to get some more people involved!

What is Team 5?


Team 5 is a nine episode fan-series that follows the fractured remains of a once-great rescue team as they attempt to find their missing leader. The show is styled as an animatic with a full voice cast and an original soundtrack. Our team has been working on the show persistently since late 2021 and, by our estimates, we are about 62% complete with the entire project! However, we are now at a point where we could use some extra hands to bring us to the finish line for a hopeful late 2024 or early 2025 release. And that’s where you come in!

What are we looking for?

We are looking for background artists, shading artists, musicians, and voice actors! While the project is already in a position where we have everything in place, adding new members to our team will help us reach our release goal and will give us an opportunity to share our work with new people!


When auditioning for any role, please leave us your Discord username and any relevant portfolios/galleries/demo reels. We are offering compensation for each of these roles. Voice actors will receive a flat payment upon receipt of voice lines, and artists/musicians will receive both a flat payment after work received and residual based on contributions and how much money we make from the series. We prefer to pay via PayPal but can be flexible if necessary.

Please note that each of these roles are for side characters and will not have many dialogue lines. Recording sessions for these characters will take no more than 30-45 minutes, and for most characters, likely even less.

For ALL roles in the project, including art, music, and voice acting, we are looking for talent 18 years or older. Please do not apply/audition if you are under the age of 18.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A DISCORD. This is how we will be contacting people. Please leave your discord handle with any audition/application.

    Thank you all so much for auditioning for Team 5! We are incredibly overwhelmed by all your support and your interest in our project. Combusken is a cocky and brash Pokemon who is a high-ranking member of the Eternal Flame, a malicious gang of fire- and poison-type Pokemon that prey on communities of grass-types. She leads a patrol that stands guard over Violet City. She looks down on grass-type Pokemon as inferior and she’s happy to settle her problems with claws instead of words.


Combusken is a traditionally feminine character whose voice is gritty and rough. She is abrasive and rude, and is ruthlessly devoted to the mission of the Eternal Flame. We will also ask for some combat grunts/vocalizations for fighting.

Slowpoke is a sentimental young Pokemon who makes friends with an Eevee during his migration to Cinnabar Island. He’s very kind and emotionally intelligent, and must share some hard news with his new friend.


Slowpoke is a traditionally masculine character whose voice is deep and melancholy. Very similar to Slowpoke’s voice in the Pokemon anime, he speaks deliberately and very slowly.

Wailmer is a goofy water-type Pokemon, as well as a devoted husband and father. He is a non-threatening, affable, and loving dad. His three favorite things are his wife, his daughter, and the ocean, and he’d love to tell you all about them. (If he can manage to stay on topic.)


Wailmer is a traditionally masculine character whose voice is ideally deep and comforting. He is prone to forgetfulness and getting distracted, and will begin to ramble if left to his own devices.

Ursaring is a belligerent and grumpy wild Pokemon that lives near the outskirts of New Bark Town. They’re not a fan of travelers and especially aren't fond of creatures that intrude on their land or take their food.


Ursaring is a role that can be filled by any gender. The character is a hulking bear whose voice should be irritable, slow, and grumbly.

Appletun is the father of a young and ambitious Applin. His son is eager to become a rescue team leader, but is also reckless and irresponsible. Appletun tries to be the voice of reason and a steady hand for his son, but it seems like Applin isn’t very interested in what he has to say.


Appletun is a traditionally masculine character whose voice is fairly flexible. He is a stern but out-of-touch father. The role is very small and is open to some interpretation.

We are looking for more background artists! We’re beginning to lag behind on backgrounds relative to our line art, and while we can reassign line artists to work backgrounds, ideally we won't have to split our art team’s focus at all. Our hope is that we can prevent bottlenecking on backgrounds by adding additional artists to help us get caught up and keep pace going forward!

  • We are looking for talent 18 years or older.


  • Our backgrounds range from busy urban sprawl to quiet forests to dilapidated building interiors. The team travels to many places, so if you have any specialty in drawing environments, we can use your help!


  • We have a style guide for backgrounds attached! While there are certain guidelines, we are potentially open to differing styles.

We are looking for artists that can help us shade the character art! Right now we only have a single full-time shader on the team, and this can also become a potential bottleneck if not addressed now. This role would require you to use masking and/or clipping tools in Clip Studio Paint to add shading to the characters.


  • We are looking for talent 18 years or older.


  • Our character art is done exclusively in Clip Studio Paint. We have a specific format for our shading which requires any artists given this role to work in the same software.


  • Anybody with experience in CSP and a good grasp on the fundamentals of shading is encouraged to apply!


Payment will be offered after a month of work based on output, ranging from 50-100 dollars. Afterwards we will be paying out a cut of any potential YouTube/Patreon profits after project release. Payment via PayPal once criteria met.

We are looking for at least one very dedicated and talented musician! Our hope is to add another composer to our team to help speed up music production to keep pace with the audio and art teams. We take a lot of inspiration from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon music and apply it where we can. Most of our music involves a few specific instruments; piano, woodwinds, strings, acoustic guitar, and on occasion we include brass and other unique instruments as they come up. Flexibility is a plus!


The music pieces are made specifically to match the dialogue of the characters. Generally speaking, we will not be able to reuse music, and so you will need to be able to make songs based around the timing of the dialogue. The Chapter 1 sneak peek linked above is a great example!

  • We are looking for talent 18 years or older.


  • Playing an instrument is not required, but some understanding of music theory is necessary. 


  • Must be able to mix multiple instruments together and follow/build on already existing leitmotifs created by previous musicians.
