If you know me, you might know that Tales of Symphonia is one of my favourite games/stories of all time. So you can understand how frustrated I am that their isn't an official english dubbing of the show that came out.
That's where this comes in!
Heya! I'm Cam (you might have seen me around the site, and elsewhere!), and this project aims to be a dubbing of the Tales of Symphonia anime series. Unlike other anime it only barely has more than 10 episodes so the commitment isn't ridiculously long.
Here is a brief and incredibly basic summary of the story:
[Tales of Symphonia] takes place in a fictional world called Sylvarant and follows Lloyd Irving. Lloyd accompanies his childhood friend, Colette Brunel, who is destined to go on a journey to save their world. As their journey progresses, they learn that saving Sylvarant endangers Tethe'alla, a world parallel to their own.
My goal is to complete the first episode, and then provide a buffer period to see if the video is ban hammered off the internet or not.
Best case scenario: it stays up and people love it!
Worst case scenario: It get's a copyright strike quickly, but the video is still for you to have and use in visual demos!
Then based on the response I'll poll the cast and we can decide if we'd like to do more episodes or not! It's all about the team!
Some of you may know me, and may have even worked with me before. If that's the case, hey! Audition!
Luckily I have access to some top of the line editors and audio engineers, so really I just need to find some talented folks who are interested!
A deadline will be set once the casting process is done, but it will give all VA's plenty of time to record their lines as this project is unpaid. The script is currently done too! So don't worry, it's not one of THOSE projects.

- Great mic quality! USB mics are okay if your overall sound/ability is still good.

- Totally helps if you're looking to have fun!
A Quick Note For Auditions:
You do not need to sound similar to the English voice cast of the video game, but you won't be docked if that's what you go for. I want to hear your original take on the character!
*I will be throwing in some auditions as well, but that does not mean I plan to cast myself if I find someone I think fits a role best! This also means when I do post an audition, avoid emulating me "because you think that's the way I want it to sound." You might come up with something that blows me out of the water, so be original!*

Colette Brunel is the Chosen of Mana of Sylvarant; also known as the Chosen of Regeneration, the one who will bring peace and prosperity to the world. She was brought up with the knowledge that she would need to die to save the world, and, from that, has gained a truly selfless nature. As the party travels to the seals, Colette gains more angelic powers, but loses her humanity
Oh and if you didn't know, she's a total klutz.
In terms of voice I'm looking for a pleasant, and bubbly voice. Always hopeful in the things she says. Someone who truly believes the words she speaks.
(Inner Monologue - peaceful, and reflective)
I know in this world there are many sorrowful things... Feelings that can't be expressed... Thoughts that I can't come to understand... A newly realized promise. But you know what? I like this world.
(Reassuring Lloyd about a necklace he gifted her)

Lloyd Irving is a strong-hearted young man who wishes for peace in the world without the sacrifice of others. Orphaned as a child, he was adopted and raised by a dwarf, Dirk. When Lloyd learns his mother, Anna, was killed by the Desians, he decides to join Colette's journey.
In terms of voice, I'm looking for someone who can balance fun with seriousness without sounding like a completely different person. For as many comedic moments Lloyd has, he has just as many intense ones.
(After giving a homemade necklace to Colette)

Don't underestimate me, Desian! *A few vocal battle grunts - Strikes, damage, etc*
Genis Sage is the younger brother of Raine Sage. He is a child prodigy and a great cook. The Sages are both half-elves, but they pass themselves off as full-blooded elves to avoid discrimination.
For Genis' voice I'm looking for a bit younger sounding of a voice, so female VA's are more than welcome to try for Genis as well. This one is open for interpretation. I'm looking for a bookworm kind of voice, but I think there's tons of ways to do that.

(After being lectured by his sister)

A personal favourite character of mine! Unfortunately he doesn't have many lines in the first episode.
Kratos Aurion is a mysterious mercenary who is hired to accompany Colette on her journey. He is later revealed as a high-ranking member of Cruxis and one of Mithos Yggdrasill's companions who was ordered to ensure Colette would finish her journey.
Kratos' voice should sound intense and mature. He should generally come off as level headed, like nothing is that big of a deal to him.
(Making an enigmatic entrance to save the day)

Once upon a time, there existed a giant tree that was the source of mana. A war, however, caused this tree to wither away, and a hero's life was sacrificed in order to take it's place...
Raine Sage is Genis' older sister and Iselia's schoolteacher. Raine is a calm, pragmatic thinker who is mistrustful of others and is a terrible cook.
For Raine's voice I'm looking for something a bit more mature. Think a calm and soothing voice of someone you'd trust, purely from hearing their voice. Motherly and pleasant, but has the ability to go a little crazy.

The organization known as Desians work for Cruxis and imprison humans to use to create Exspheres. The members of both groups are half-elves who want revenge against humans for the discrimination they suffered.
For this voice I'm looking for another calm and collected tone, but with a tinge of wildness to it.
(Questioning the mayor he has at his mercy)
Hey... Where is the kid with an Exsphere on his left hand?
(Directly addressing Lloyd)
Quit your barking, you inferior trash. My name is Forcystus. I am a superior half-elf, master of you pathetic humans.
(Fighting Lloyd)
*Battle Sounds - Quick, and in constant control of the fight*
*Then a pained shout* How's he so strong?! It's Magnificent.
Remiel is a complicated character, and I don't want to give away too much of his backstory. He is an angel that guides Colette on her quest of regeneration.
For this voice I'm looking for something warm and fatherly.
(After appearing out of now where)
My name is Remiel...
(A serious question delivered to Colette)
Are you prepared to embark on your journey of world regeneration?
(Bestowing a gift to the world)

His voice should sound older to match his look, perhaps a bit of gruffness to it.

A priest that accompanies Colette during the first episode.
His voice should sound quite old, but still kind.
(Telling Colette what will happen)
The oracle will descend shortly... Is this?!
(Apologetic, almost sad)
20 Years ago... The oracle descended in the same fashion, and the Chosen set out on a journey. Never to return. We are terribly sorry for burdening you with such a heavy task.
(Speaking to the last hope for the world)
We are counting on you. *ARROWS FLY THROUGH A WINDOW AND INTO THE PRIEST* Please, hide yourself, and save the world... Hurry!
Dirk is the dwarf that raised Lloyd as his own child. He instilled the importance of the ever wonderful Dwarven Vows into Lloyd.
Dirk's voice should be a bit gruff, but his accent is open. Feel free to try British, Scottish, or anything else you might be good at!
(Yelling at Lloyd)
