STARLIGHT - An Equestrian Musical (MLP parody of Hamilton)

STARLIGHT GLIMMER:

BACKSTORY:

Starlight Glimmer lived in a small town just outside of mainland equestria, a small island only separated by about a kilometer of water. She falls into her cutie-mark hatred not because of her loss of Sunburst, but now because of her strong belief in complete equality. She takes her beliefs too far, so much so to where she wipes ponies cutie-marks as she believes cutie-marks make people unequal.

Eventually, after her town took a stand against her and revolted, she came to realize the reality of her wrongs. After giving everypony their cutie-marks back, she’d delve into her books a lot more than she ever did, learning about true equality, equity, magic, many, many things. With these revelation came her first major writing, putting all of her faults and errors to ink. At around 48, (16 in human years) her town would finally raise enough money to send her to New Equestria, where we find her meeting Twilight Sparkle.

TWILIGHT SPARKLE:

BACKSTORY:

Twilight Sparkle would be born in a very divided family with differing beliefs. Her mother would be a fan of revolution while her father would think revolution is stupid. They would fight so often that eventually they both agree to a duel over it. It ends with them both shooting each other fatally with each leaving notes telling Twilight to finish college.

Her brother, Shining Armor, would follow in the footsteps of their mother, joining Celestia’s royal guard and still earning the rank of Captain as in the show’s timeline. 

At 39(13), she would get into Queenston college, graduating within a year. She would meet many ponies with different opinions, thinking that it’s stupid to have such absolute beliefs that only end up in fighting.

She would always equivocate and have very indecisive thoughts on things, leading to the Twilight Sparkle that Starlight Glimmer meets in Ms. Sparkle, Ma’am.

Twilight Sparkle is the secondary protagonist of the project.

SUNSET SHIMMER:

BACKSTORY:

Sunset Shimmer was born into a slave-owning family. She would learn early how to manage the plantation and enter politics at 78(26). She would prove herself useful in aiding the voices of the Revolution and freedom, while still owning many zebras. She’d go to Prance to be the leading minister in their “revolution” as well.

After serving 15 years in Prance for it’s people, she’d move back to New Equestria to become a voice in New Equestria’s uprise.

Sunset is the primary antagonist of Act 2

SPIKE:

BACKSTORY:

Spike would be hatched into yet another slave-owning family, his egg not being commandeered by Celestia would be abandoned for being a "runt" and found by the aforementioned family. He also become a mass planter owning many slaves. He would meet Sunset Shimmer at one of his speeches about the revolution, teaming up with her to become partners.

After Sunset Shimmer went to Prance, Spike would study in the Queen’s college in order to become more educated in his course, going on to write in the New Equestria Constitution.

Spike is the secondary protagonist of Act 2

BONBON

BACKSTORY:

Bonbon will be a rich kid raised in a slave-owning household, moving to the Crystal Empire with her family after her mother died, being educated in a high end school in the empire, where she meets Lyra Heartstrings. Lyra, being born from an abolitionist family, shares her beliefs and arguments with Bonbon, leading Bonbon to have abolitionist beliefs. 

Bonbon would bring her beliefs home, disgracing her slave-owning family so much they disown her. Lyra’s family would then take her in, leading Bonbon to even more equalist beliefs, and for Bonbon and Lyra to be basically attached at the hip.

After the tensions between Equestria and New Equestria, going to the brink of revolution, Lyra’s family would move to New Equestria to enroll Lyra and Bonbon into Queenston College, and so Lyra and Bonbon can be part of the revolution. After meeting Twilight Sparkle in Queenston college, as well as Rainbow Dash, Trixie, and eventually Starlight Glimmer, they become major revolutionists.

Bonbon and Lyra will represent the same person - John Laurens. Their script will show this.

LYRA HEARTSTRINGS:

BACKSTORY:

Lyra would be born and raised in the Crystal Empire, getting into a prestigious school at a young age. After reaching highschool, she’ll meet Bonbon who has somewhat pro-slavery beliefs. Lyra sees an opportunity to try to convert somepony with their knowledge and opinions of slavery, so she hangs around Bonbon for that reason.

Bonbon and Lyra become good friends, and after Bonbon gets kicked out, Lyra begs her mom to take Lyra in, where they become even better friends than they were before.

After the tensions between Equestria and New Equestria, going to the brink of revolution, Lyra’s family would move to New Equestria to enroll Lyra and Bonbon into Queenston College, and so Lyra and Bonbon can be part of the revolution. After meeting Twilight Sparkle in Queenston college, as well as Rainbow Dash, Trixie, and eventually Starlight Glimmer, they all become major revolutionists.

TRIXIE LULAMOON

BACKSTORY:

Trixie, like everypony else, was born an extremely wealthy mare, and was orphaned at a young age. She was born and lived in Prance, (France) and joined Prance’s Royal Army at 42(14) after her father died in the Seventy Moons war, motivating her to fight against Queensland. (Britain) She eventually went to New Equestria after insisting she join the revolution as a Major at 57. (19)

She eventually met Twilight Sparkle out at a bar when she would do a magic show, proclaiming how “great and powerful” she is, catching Twilights eye, making Twilight add her to the caravan. She will be among the major revolutionists in our story. 

*Bonus Audition Material*: If you so wish, you may also submit a Trixie cover of any song from the French dub of MLP G4. They can all be found on YouTube under the channel "FireChat". I AM NOT expecting you to pull out some perfect, native-passing, French. The idea is more to see how well you can fake it so please try to have fun with it if you choose to do this

Rainbow's life unfolds fairly similarly to cannon. She's born in Cloudsdale and quickly rises to 2nd of her class(gotta give Derpy her due credit) until the classes top student is taken out by unlucky genetics. However, since in this timeline, Celestia never relinquished the Elements of Harmony, they don't send out their pull on the Mane Six's lives. So, while she still befriends Flutters, their bond is nowhere near as strong as in cannon and when she's bullied out of Cloudsdale, Rainbow doesn't follow her, instead continuing to dominate in Flight School. She graduates top of her class earning a scholarship to Queenston college. There, she meets the rest of our major revolutionists and morphs into the Rainbow we meet in Ms. Sparkle, Ma'am.

SPITFIRE:

BACKSTORY:

Spitfire was born in a mid-wealth family that owned a their fair share of zebras. She was openly opposed to it, and even her parents were slightly against it, only owning them so they could get food on the table. Eventually moving out of her parents house at 36,(12) she would go on to join the Air Force, getting into the Wonderbolts at a young age. At 75,(25) She would become General of the Wonderbolts. She would stay General of the Wonderbolts, but branch out to the other branches of the military too.

After tensions with Equestria became bigger, she’d advocate for freedom and independence against Equestria. Finally, she’d find herself in the Revolution, making a name for herself quickly as the greatest military general of the time. 

Spitfire is the tertiary(?) protagonist of this project.

The colt of Starlight and Pinkie, not much to say, he's fairly similar to Philip Jr.

The Pie Family largely won't stray from cannon. Like Rainbow, their biggest change is the absence of the Element's pull. Pinkie does't move to Ponyville instead staying as the light on her family's farm. Unfortunately the Pie's don't do a lot of rock farming being a large zebra owning family. Using her share of her family's fortune, she get's herself and her sister's into school where their education take's them to Cantorlot where we find them in Act 1 

The Pie Family largely won't stray from cannon. Like Rainbow, their biggest change is the absence of the Element's pull. Pinkie does't move to Ponyville instead staying as the light on her family's farm. Unfortunately the Pie's don't do a lot of rock farming being a large zebra owning family. Using her share of her family's fortune, she get's herself and her sister's into school where their education take's them to Cantorlot where we find them in Act 1 

With Pinkie actually remaining in her proxy for their foal hoods, Maud grow's to be more social-able, while she still has her quirks, she's much more open about her passion for her sisters

Not really much to say, she doesn't really have many lines. However, here, I'll explain the absence of Limestone. In this timeline, the Pie's first child was a still born never seeing the life she could've. The loss of this foal is what pushes the Pie's to start purchasing slaves to work their farm to allow for time for bereavement and...further atempts 

Rarity is an only child, her parent's choosing not to foal another foal with the world's political strife. Discovering her talent for gem locating, she enlists in the New Equestrian army as soon as she can. Her assertive attitude serves her well and she quickly climbs the ranks. She gets her degree in fine arts through Queen's College and commissions. She continues to promote fast even as an officer rising to a Brigadier(One-Star) General when we meet her in the musical

As in the cannon timeline, Flutters is quickly bullied out of Flight School and flees Cloudsdale. However, before she can make it to Ponyville, she is intercepted by Discord. He "takes her in" presenting it as an act of kindness.

She is raised under his roof in Canterlot and the day she "comes of age" Discord takes her to a court house to marry her. She sneaks in newspapers to keep up to date on the proceedings of the revolution. In these, she discovers Starlight as a leading revolutionist. So, when the paper's report the Pie sisters going on vacation she takes her chance.

However, the life she has been raised among with Discord has only shown her one means of getting what she desires, leading to what plays out in Say No To This.

she actually appears later on in the constitutional convention and says "yo, who the hay is this?" to star glim because star glim changed applejacks ways similar to how seabury dropped his loyalism to britain after the war 

Celestia is much crueler in her handling of "threats" to Her Equestria, so when Discord "attacks" she doesn't allow him to get off just imprisoned, instead she strips him of the chaotic form he's so proud of. She uses the Elements to force him into a pony form, she still let's him be a unicorn, finding amusement in the idea of a "God" being forced down to a barely above average mage
