Hello! I'm organizing a comic dub of "Star-Crossed," a five part series featuring characters from League of Legend's Star Guardian AU. I'm searching for voice actors as well as a video editor/audio engineer! If interested, please read the rules and FAQ below before applying!

Rules
Must be 18+ and able to take payment over PayPal.
Must be able to communicate in a timely manner over discord.
Must use a USB or XLR microphone of mid to high quality (no headphone microphones); in addition, must have a relatively quiet recording environment.
Please do not slate for auditions, but do list what mic you use and your discord handle in your audition description.
Please audition in AA BB CC format, with 2-3 takes per line. Actors who can demonstrate a variety of approaches to each line will be prioritized!
No hate speech, homophobia/transphobia, misogyny, racism or other bigotry will be tolerated, and will result in your immediate removal from the project.

Q: I don't know anything about League of Legends or the Star Guardian AU! Can I still audition?
A: Yes! You may audition and be selected, but please be willing to learn basic information if you are casted!
Q: Why is Seraphine already cast?
A: I will be voicing Seraphine in this project! I created a role so I can submit my own demo lines, in case anyone is curious about what the character's voice will sound like.
Star Guardian Universe & "Star-Crossed" Background Info
Star Guardians are high-school students chosen to wield the light of the First Star and become cosmic protectors. Locked in a cycle of never-ending combat with the voidlike creatures that terrorize the universe, they are destined to burn bright but fast. Though Star Guardians do not age, all will eventually fall to corruption.
Prior to the events of "Star-Crossed," a team of Star Guardians comprised of Xayah, Rakan, Ahri, Sarah and Neeko encountered Zoe, a corrupted being seeking to destroy new generations of Star Guardians as they rise. Rakan was killed in the resulting battle and Xayah, refusing to leave his side, was abandoned by the rest of the team. Both Xayah and Rakan were later resurrected by Zoe as corrupted Star Guardians, until Rakan used the last of his light to purify Xayah, sacrificing himself to true darkness. At the start of "Star-Crossed," Xayah embarks on a quest to put together a new team, find Rakan, and save him as he saved her.

Hi everyone! The project deadline has passed and I've made my casting decisions. I felt lucky to get to hear so many talented people, and choosing wasn't easy. Hi everyone! Following up on a few questions, I wanted to clarify that the rates listed under each role are based on how much that character speaks in proportion to other characters, within the limited budget I have for this passion project. I don't have a transcript of the comic and so I cannot easily calculate the rate per word, but if you would like to do so yourself (or just skim over the lines in advance), I have added which parts of the comic each character appears in to their role description.

Abandoned by her captain and teammates, Xayah spent years in darkness. She sought revenge—yet deep down, she only wanted an explanation, an answer as to why Ahri left Rakan and her to die. Xayah pursued her former friends across the galaxy until, during the Battle of the Twilight Star, Rakan sacrificed his own light to purge the darkness in Xayah's soul. Now a Star Guardian once more, Xayah searches the night skies for her love. She hopes to return the favor and bring him back to the light, but to do so, she must battle the darkness that still rages inside. Xayah's love is her guiding force—though she'd never admit to something so horribly sentimental.
Xayah is the main character of the comic, and I'm looking for a VA who can express a wide range of emotions: snarky humor, capable leadership, anger, desperation, and vulnerability. Xayah begins "Star-Crossed" clinging to one hope: bring Rakan back. But as she pieces together a team of veteran star guardians and learns how to be a leader, she also grows deeply as a person.

[Cradling Rakan's lifeless body, growing more desperate as her friends abandon her] Rakan...? Hey... say something... agh, my arm! Hey... Neeko? Are you still there?! Sarah? Ahri?! H-hey! Wait! What are you doing!?
[Persuading a fellow star guardian to join her team] I was evil for a while. It was AWESOME. I'll tell you later. Look, I've been watching you. I've seen the books you read. Devour, really. I don't know if you've got someone waiting out there, but you're a romantic. You LOVE love. Friendship. Romance. Whatever. Gross. Blech.
[With conviction, ready to charge into battle] We're not going to fall, you handsome idiot. We're going to bring you back to the light. Time to end this, girls. NOW! (give a battle cry)
Years spent battling the darkness alone has emboldened Senna’s resolve, but it also hardened her emotions. After all, when you’re a Star Guardian, you know losing loved ones is inevitable. Senna's resilient demeanor hides a more sensitive side: she enjoys a good romantic manga as much as fighting any old interdimensional threat. She alone has the strength to carry a massive gun—and provide much-needed tough love if the situation calls for it. Just don't expect a heart-to-heart.
Senna is a veteran star guardian of at least several centuries. She is proud but kind, with a dry sense of humor and a very large gun. She is the first star guardian to be recruited to Xayah's team, and remains a core part of the squad for the whole series.

[Taunting] You think a little butterfly kiss like that is gonna take me out? Let's do this, monster! (Battle cry as she fires her gun)
[Arrogant, with a bitter undertone] You know how it goes. Sooner or later, everyone falls... but not me. I won't. So now I work alone. It's better this way.
[Lighthearted banter] I will literally eat your soul with my gun.
Even after falling and becoming host to Zoe's corruption, Rakan's love for Xayah persisted. Across the universe, he joined her in her quest for vengeance, all the while formulating a plan to purify her heart. Doing so cost him his own sanity, and he fell deeper into a swirling dimension of chaos and destruction. Desperate and heart-broken, Xayah longs to bring Rakan back to the light. Rakan has other plans. Namely: finding a good hair-stylist and practicing his evil villain monologues. Burns this good can't be improvised.
Rakan is Xayah's lover and the antagonist of the comic. In his original form, he is proud and a bit flighty, but has a big heart and will do anything for Xayah. As a corrupted star guardian, Rakan's vanity is accentuated, and his lingering affection for Xayah pushes him to try and recruit her to the dark side. His VA should be able to capture his easy, sassy humor both in his darker, manipulative form and in his purified form in flashbacks and at the end of the comic.

[Arrogant, goading or bored] I have better things to do than fight you star nerds all day. Like buy hair gel. Or eat chocolate. Don't you want to, I dunno, just give up and die already?
[Manipulative, pushing where it hurts] That's still your goal? I know plans are your thing, Xayah, but woof. Talk about tunnel vision. Especially since you know you're just like me.
[In the past, sacrificing himself to purify Xayah] You fought back. I am so, so proud of you... and I'm going to save you. Come on, love. You know how the story goes. The prince has to save the princess. Those are the rules.
When this robot girl wished upon the First Star, it granted her deepest desire: to become human. With that gift came all the responsibilities of a Star Guardian, responsibilities that Orianna took eagerly. Orianna excitedly absorbs any new bit of information she finds, from the whole of history to the taste of every sugary candy. Her favorite discovery: dance. Her attempts to emulate the hypnotic ways in which the body follows the beat of a song improve each day.
Orianna is a veteran star guardian of several centuries. Though her old life as a robot means that she often comes across as aloof and cold, she also has a strong interest in emotions and is constantly doing her best to learn how to be human. She is the third star guardian to be recruited to Xayah's team, and features from part three onward.

[Curious] Love cannot be measured by my sensor array. It is... a feeling. Yet you would continue your doomed mission because of it?
[Elated, then switching abruptly to serious] Then I accept your invitation! Ha! Ha! H-- Xayah, I detect you are being followed.
Ahri is a charismatic captain who leads a team of both new and veteran Star Guardians, from the outer edges of the cosmos. Having experienced the pain of losing teammates in the line of duty, she is viciously protective of her “family,” and a strong desire burns within her to ensure no one she cares for ever fades away again. There's no more room for patience and understanding in her universe—tough love is all that's left.
Ahri is a veteran star guardian and the leader of Xayah and Rakan's old team. Before the events of the story, she made the tough to decision to abandon Xayah and Rakan at their darkest moment to save herself and Sarah. Though she can be prickly at times, Ahri would admit to carrying a deep guilt with her since that day.

[Awkward but sincere apology] I... you're right. I failed you. As a friend AND as a leader. I'm sorry. I know you're still angry. But maybe together, with all of us, we'll have a chance to fix what I broke.
A member of Ahri's original team, Miss Fortune is a hot-headed gunslinger, renowned across the galaxy as a monster slayer. Angry at losing comrades, the second-in-command now fights in their memory—not out of a sense of duty, but for vengeance. Even with new members joining the team, she can't forget her past. She is always the first to charge into battle, often ignoring her own safety as long as she can take down every beast in sight. Her short temper often leads to butting heads with teammates who she sees as wasting time when they could be laying waste to the enemy.
Sarah is a veteran star guardian who was part of Xayah and Rakan's old team. When her team was attacked by an insurmountable evil, Sarah wanted to fight till the end--but was ultimately persuaded by Ahri to flee and abandon the rest of the team, racking up a guilt that she still carries today. Sarah is brash with a fiery temper, but ultimately easy to get along with.

Looking for a video editor to turn the comic and voice lines into a complete project, OR a separate video editor and audio engineer. In the latter case, the video editor would edit the comic panels into a video, while the audio engineer would process VA and add sound effects.
Note that we may end up using the visuals from the Brazilian motion comic dub, in which case the brunt of the work would be audio editing and sound design, as well as switching out text bubbles from Portuguese to English.

A pop sensation across the galaxy, Seraphine can't wait to team up with the Star Guardians for a brand new collab. Her glittering personality may occasionally get on the nerves of the group's more... jaded members, but for the most part, even they can't resist the harmonies that Seraphine sings. When she's not defending the universe, she's likely dragging her friends to a weeknight karaoke, hoping that the selection of songs includes her own.
I will be voicing Seraphine for this project! The role is closed, but I have attached my own demo lines for the character for anyone curious.
