Spooky Month Fan VN: Infestation Infatuation
Project Overview
“Infestation Infatuation” is an unofficial Spooky Month fan-made visual novel centred around Sr Pelo’s character Dexter Erotoph! I was inspired to begin this project when I saw there were quite a few Bob Velseb dating sims floating around the internet, and wanted to try my hand at making a game of my own. I’ve already started working on the script in Ren’Py, backgrounds, character sprites, and general directions and themes of the story.
The game is a romance-focused visual novel with strong elements of psychological horror, dark comedy, and branching choices. The story begins with the protagonist contacting an exterminator over the phone to deal with their rodent infestation, establishing the issue as something that has been both negatively affecting themself and additionally agitating their usually mild mannered cat Pluto. What begins as a fairly ordinary house inspection to locate the pests gradually develops into something a little more complicated as the lonely protagonist slowly gets to know Dexter, an equally lonely individual with a twisted motivation behind his career.
This is planned to be a more grounded, slow burn story that will explore Dexter’s character and psyche without romanticising or glorifying his sadistic “needs”. Dexter is a rather eccentric, outgoing, and deeply troubled character, and I want to explore what a relationship with someone like him might actually look like in its entirety, without losing the ridiculous cartoon energy that makes him so entertaining and loveable in the first place.
The game is still in its early stages, so I’m figuring out some aspects of the story as I go! I’m hoping to include multiple endings, meaningful player choices, and a tasteful mix of funny, intimate, unsettling, and as I progress, more emotional moments.
⚠️ MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: I am strictly looking for voice actors who have watched Spooky Month and possess a solid understanding of Dexter’s character, behavior, and vocal quirks from the source material. If you’re curious about this project but have not seen the original YouTube series by Sr Pelo, please be sure to go watch it before you audition!
Dexter Erotoph is an incredibly eccentric and theatrical pest exterminator. On the surface, he presents himself as a bright, enthusiastic and fast-talking individual who can be a bit absent minded. However, beneath this peculiar mask lies a deeply troubled, lonely individual with a sadistic streak regarding his career and a sort of “lust” for killing. In this visual novel, we are exploring a slow-burn dynamic between him and the player, and a grounded look into his psyche.
The ideal voice actor must be capable of contrast, seamlessly maintaining his cartoon energy (as seen in Spooky Month 3 - Unwanted Guest) during casual scenes, while also being able to drop into a more unhinged or agitated manner of speaking during scenes where his “needs” become apparent or he becomes defensive. Additionally, being able to depict his voice in an almost shy manner during scenes where the player and him bond authentically is crucial.
🚨 IMPORTANT (WORKLOAD & ROLE TYPE): This is the absolute main lead role of the entire project, as the game is based purely around this character! Currently, Dexter is the only active character in the script aside from the protagonist, with any other potential characters (in concept) limited to brief cameos or minor side presences. Because the dynamic of the visual novel focuses almost entirely on an isolated relationship between the protagonist and Dexter, the chosen voice actor will have a massive workload with a LOT of lines. Please only audition if you have the time, dedication, and vocal stamina to commit to a heavy, long-form script for a passion project!

(Proud) Oh, well, I do try my best! Can’t have your kitty ending up with a heart attack from all the stress, right?
(Flustered) Oh no, nononono! That’s really NOT what I was trying to insinuate at all!
(Flat) Uh oh. The brats didn’t egg your house, did they?
