Sonic: Base Level Boosted (ORIGINAL ONGOING COMIC DUB)
Project Overview
This project is a retelling of beloved Sonic stories adapted from the games into comic form, and the chapters will be dubbed for YouTube as well! It will be an ongoing project, so we expect anyone who auditions to be prepared to be working on this for a decently long amount of time. It may be required that voice actors join Discord calls and perform their lines with a director, but it may depend on scheduling. In any case, we ask that all voice actors that audition be aware of this and are prepared for any possibility. We also ask that you have a wide range of emotions and that you're able to act scenes that can be emotionally heavy or action packed. It will be required that all voice actors have relatively good microphone quality with minimal echo/background noise, auditions may be nullified if microphone or environment quality isn't up to standard. We also ask that you record multiple takes for your lines so that we can really get a feel for your acting prowess, at least 3 takes for each line included. Having a Discord will also be required as that's where our whole team works, please provide your username and @ when submitting your work. Please provide all audio in the form of .wav or .mp3 files. Tails is a two-tailed fox that tags along on Sonic‘s adventures. He’s a smart and loyal friend. Tails is a bit older in this story than he is in the games but not by too much. In the games hes 8-9 years old, but in this story he’s 12-13 years old. Because of this, his voice is slightly more matured. Knuckles is a hot headed echidna and a rival to Sonic. Always ready to fight and full of attitude, Knuckles always has something to say. His passive aggressiveness comes out in his normal sentences. Mighty the Armadillo is a calm pacifist, but has a short temper as well. Not quite as short as Knuckles’s temper but short nonetheless. His anger shouldn’t sound as rageful or tough as Knuckles, but it should still carry a punch in its own way. Amy Rose is an easily angered but bubbly hedgehog who tags along Sonic’s adventures as well. Because Amy is older in this story, she’ll have a bit of a new direction as well. Cream the Rabbit is a young girl who hangs out with Amy often and is very girly and emotional. Since she’s a bit older in this story, she’ll also be having a bit of a different direction. She’s 11-12 years old, so her direction will be a bit lower pitched but still very girly sounding. Honey the Cat is a bubbly, smug girl that hangs out with Amy frequently. Although she’s bubbly, she has a side of her that’s cutthroat and serious when it comes down to business. For Honey’s voice, we wanted someone who can deliver on both extremes of her personality and someone who can change their voice on a dime to capture these moments even better. Ray is a wide eyed kid that gets into trouble a lot and is very clumsy in nature. He tags along with Mighty and tries his best to help even if it may not be all that helpful in execution. Rouge the Bat is a flirty, playful and untrustworthy treasure hunter with her eyes always on what her next score could be. She throws playful banter around constantly, especially with Knuckles. For this interpretation of Rouge, we’d like it to be as close as it was in Sonic X, as it works best with the Knuckles voice direction we have in mind. This character has had a rough past, banished to a wasteland for decades. He holds a grudge against someone, and is hellbent on getting his revenge. He should sound, cold, intimidating and olden. A deep gruff voice will fit this character the best.
