This is an unpaid audition opportunity for “Dark Road Diaries,” an upcoming horror-comedy audio fiction podcast from the team behind the award-winning audio drama “Once Upon a Wasteland.”
Recording for the show will be done asynchronously. Cast members will have at least two weeks to submit their lines after an episode’s script is finalized.
The show’s tentative debut date is Monday, March 16, 2026. Auditions close on Friday, February 13th.

With Daria's quick wit, Jack's fearlessness, and the Monsignor's expertise, they're ready for anything. This supernatural comedy is a raucous tale of love, friendship, and the power of laughter in the face of danger. Jack Fletcher (male, early 30s) is a fearless, impulsive, and sometimes rebellious adventurer, always ready to take on the next challenge. He's not afraid to bend the rules or put himself in danger, and his unconventional way of thinking helps find creative solutions to even the most outlandish challenges. He is deeply loyal to his friends and loved ones, and will stop at nothing to protect them. Fiercely devoted to his girlfriend Daria, he has a sharp sense of humor that helps keep their spirits high, even in the darkest moments.
So, let me get this straight. You want to spend this beautiful Saturday afternoon in that creepy old church?

Daria Bishop (female, early 30s) is a quick-witted and sardonic young woman who's never shy about speaking her mind. She is also a resourceful and tireless problem solver, with a keen mind for strategy and a never-say-die attitude. A natural leader, she's the brains behind most of the schemes the duo comes up with. She is deeply devoted to Jack, and their romantic relationship provides the story's emotional center.
Don't forget, I don't have to outrun the face-melters, or the demons, I just have to outrun you.
For God's sake... just unwrap it and put it in the middle of the floor. That should draw it out, and then we can see if it'll chase us into that room.
Wait, I've heard of this! A salt circle is used to keep... uh… evil creatures contained.
Jamie Blackwood (female, early 30s) is a close friend of Jack and Daria, and the reason they set out on their supernatural road trip in the first place. She is kind and practical, with a good heart and a deep affection for her friends. At the end of the pilot, she falls victim to a powerful demonic possession, which causes her to act erratically, dangerously, and often hilariously. As the group tries to save her, Jamie becomes a tragic figure, caught in the grips of an evil force beyond her control. Her plight adds a poignant and emotional dimension to the story, as Jack and Daria race against time to rescue her from the clutches of the supernatural.
We all owe Monsignor Jenkins one. Some of us owe him more than one. This is the least we can do.

Monsignor William Jenkins (male, 60s) is a seasoned exorcist and demon hunter who serves as a mentor and advisor to Jack and Daria. He is wise and knowledgeable about the supernatural world, having seen it all over the course of his decades in the field. Despite his stern and no-nonsense demeanor, he has a kind heart and cares deeply for the safety of the trio. He is the glue that holds the group together, and his sage advice helps them navigate even the most treacherous situations.
About the basement... there's one room down there that you need to stay away from. Don't open the door, don't even go anywhere near it.

The Narrator will read the title card at the beginning of each episode as well as the closing credits. They will also occasionally be called upon to do ad reads or other promotional pieces.
