SINKING ROAD (2D Animated Short Film)
Project Overview
Sinking Road is a short film I have planned to animate!
The plot goes as follows;
One day, Dotty walks over a bridge and gets pushed into the waters below by a mysterious person, and once she's in the water, she gets dragged down into the depths by a road, and appears in a village underwater. This mysterious village is called The Sinking Road Village.
In it she meets the two twins and the princes Epie and Narco, who follow along side her to the King, that explains that the village was built by the 8 buddhist precepts, and he is one of them.
Dotty wishes to go home but it's not as easy as it sounds, so in the meanwhile, she'll have to deal with the weirdness of the Precepts and The Sinking Road.
The short is mainly a comedy, and before auditioning, please read this!!
- You need to be okay with cussing, this cartoon is not for kids! (Not all characters cuss however, but just keep that in mind!)
- The script is 53 pages long, keep that in mind, ESPECIALLY with roles like Dotty and the twins, as they appear all sort of all over!
- Please have a clear enough mic!
- Once you're casted, you will be getting the script right away, and I would love to have the lines as soon as possible, I won't rush you, but please don't take weeks (Unless emergencies come up!). So only audition if you believe you got time to deliver your lines fairly soon (With no unnecessary rushing of course! Don't stress yourself!)
- If you're one to make bloopers or funny mishaps in your auditions...Good, I love that
- If you're wondering why some of the characters aren't here, it's due to them already being casted to people off-site!

Dotty is the main character, she is a girl who appear way sweeter than she is, she actually has a very short temper and is not afraid to stand up for herself, she has half-face paralysis and is insecure about it.

I want her voice to be feminine but harsh, with a german accent, it doesn't have to be strong but as long as it's german! The pitch also isn't too important, just do whatever you see fit!
(Please also be aware that she has the most lines out of everyone in a 53 page script!)
“Why the fuck did I think it would be a good idea to start on a tomato soup WITHOUT THE TOMATOES? Am I actually brain dead?? Goddammit Dotty, get your act together.”
“...What the fuck IS this place?”
As she turns, she gasps deeply in shock upon facing the twins right away
“SCHEIßE!!”
“SORRY! FUCK!- No!! I mean FRICK- I- UGH! Anyway!! Please explain to me what this whole ‘Buddhist Pre..Things’ is? I-If you don’t mind!”
King Appeticio is one of the most significant Precepts. He's the 6th Precept and has a huge appetite, but he has a very kind heart. He is blind since birth but it doesn't bother him much. He has a rivalry with Ki-Toon and they battle a lot, but Appeticio deeply hates conflict.

I imagine his voice is medium-deep, probably more deep given his size, and he has a very kind voice, he almost always sounds jolly.
“Oh! So my ears didn’t deceive me, haha! Well, go on, friend! Say a word! Don’t be shy!”
He gasps and laughs, his belly moving with his laughs, he continues feasting
“I enjoy your honesty, Miss Dotty! That is a good quality to have! I just hope you’re not intimidated by me!... Oh, and I must say, your footsteps are surprisingly harsh coming from such a sweet sounding lady!”
“W-well I suppose I do, huh? I can’t help it! I love food, It’s natural for me! P-plus, it IS technically for a good cause!”
Mr.Glory is one of the Precepts, the 7th to be exact. He is a talented jeweler, inventor, dancer, musician and much more. He is prideful, flamboyant and posh, but he means well. he's also a giant oddball, with a odd condition (He has cut out his entire stomach portion of his body.)

I want him to have a British accent, and I want him to sound flamboyant and dramatic, the pitch I imagine is around medium to low, but you do what you see fit!
“Hmmm...I am not fond of the extreme asymmetry of your outfit, it seems quite useless, not only that but the hues of your green and pink blend far too much, and it would look much less hideous if one was darker than the other! Oh...And the purple bits don’t help your case!
He gasps deeply, running over
“DO NOT TOUCH THAT!”
He grabs it back harshly
“Ahem...Anyway!”
“Don’t want to run into the risk of it growing, so why not remove that possibility all togetheEER- OOF!”
He falls off his lower body because it walks off on its own
“UGH! Come BACK here, you asshole!! You simply cannot function on your own!"
Priestess is one of the Precepts, the 3rd one. Despite her priest appearance, she is very lustful and sensual. She has a good heart but she has absolutely no shame in what she does.

I want her voice to be very feminine and quite seductive, but other than that, do whatever you think would be fitting!
“Why hello...Your majesties~...And...Who are you, sweetie?~”
“Well then, miss Dotty~...What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl~...What is it you’re here for? Some... cleansing?~”
“It was my pleasure!~”
Epie is one of the two twin princes of the sinking road, he contrasts his brother, he is very crazy, gets distracted easily, is very loud and so forth.

Considering Narco and Epie are twins, I'd love for them to have the same voice actor, but their voices are quite different. Epie's voice is VERY ENERGETIC, silly, and crazy! With a medium-high pitch!

“HEY DAD AND DOTTY!! CAN WE GO GO GO TO PRIESTESS NOW PLEEEEASE?? TO PRIESTESS!! PLEEEEEASE!!”

Narco is one of the two twin princes of the sinking road, he contrasts his brother, he is very lazy and tired all the time, but seems to be the brain out of the two.

Considering Narco and Epie are twins, I'd love for them to have the same voice actor, but their voices are quite different. Narco's is very calm, tired and almost annoyed at all times, it's a medium-low or just medium

“Alright...And uhm... just so you know, scissors isn’t really the most painless method of getting out of here, you know.”
“I guess you can survive on your own now, right, Dotty?”
“Well then...See ya.”

No need to do all the lines for this one, just do the ones you think you can do!

He viciously laughs
