Nakayama Festa writes a letter to her childhood mentor, Teach, as the memories of the past flood back.
--SERIES INFO--
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a Japanese multimedia franchise created by Cygames. The franchise centers on racehorses that are named and themed after actual racehorses, transformed into Umamusume (ウマ娘; 'horse girls'). Here, they compete in races inspired by real-life race tracks managed by the Japan Racing Association.

--DESCRIPTION--
This micro short film is currently in production phase, with the picture being shot later in October. This audition process will select the voice of Nakayama Festa, who will deliver lines as if she's reading her letter out loud while writing it.
This project is in honor of her IRL counterpart's passing. As such, the tone of the project leans toward a sentimental/nostalgic space, all packed into a 1-minute micro short.
Nakayama Festa's story is one of my favorites from the franchise, so I wanted to stitch together lines from the game's story and tidbits from the IRL lore to create a piece that meets right in the middle.
As an aside, I highly recommend reading Nakayama Festa's story for yourself if you haven't already. It's a wonderful story of defining hope and the desire to live.

Voice Actor
An avid risk-taker and rule-breaker. She used to lack drive, but under the guidance of her elementary school mentor, she discovered the adrenaline-pumping thrill of racing. She can only live on the edge, and tends to cut corners in unremarkable, everyday situations. Now, she reflects on the past while looking forward to the finish line.

(slightly exasperated) Another letter from Teach. Geez. Does she have any idea how long it takes me to write out a reply?
