I'm CaptainKashup and I'm here to day to talk about a project near and dear to my heart : Bringing to life one of my favorite fan-made companion in the Fallout games, Scratch.
Scratch - A Ghoulish Companion is a mod and constant work-in-progress for Fallout 3, NV and in the future, FO4, settled around the character of Scratch, a 13-something year old survivor of the apocalypse who happens to be a bit.. roasted on the side.
For those of you who don't know, ghoulification in the Fallout universe is basically a form of zombification that can happen to you after being in contact with radiation for too long. Your skin begins to shed, your eyes lose their color, your hair start falling out, etcetera. Some ghouls actually lose their mind and become feral, while others are slightly luckier and only get physical changes. Lil' Scratch here is on the lucky ones. Her ghoulification hasn't ravaged her entirely and her mind is still somewhat normal, though filled to the brim with her own sets of trauma.
Scratch, as a character, is a bubbly smarty-pantsy little scavenger with a deep love for the weirdest things she can find. Like for example, a gun that shoots plungers, to name one. But behind that her joy for odd things and her constant joking around, hides a severely broken teen that had to endure the horrors of the wasteland at way too young an age.
We're looking for a young-yet-raspy voice that would be-fit her character and her mutation well. She can't sound too normal, since she's a ghoul and by default, that means her vocal chord are a bit damaged, but without sounding like she smokes 154 pack of cigarettes either.
With a lot of content existing already and even more coming in the future, the role of Scratch wouldn't be just a one-and-done deal. We'd have keep in touch to be able to call you back when we have new material.
This is of course in full collaboration with Zid, the original creator of Scratch.
