RWBY: Remnant Remade

RWBY: Remnant Remade

Project Overview

RWBY: Remnant Remade is a fan-made reboot of the popular series RWBY, that seeks to tell an old story in an all new way. Worldbuilding has been altered and expanded upon, and characters that are widely considered to have been underdeveloped or underused will receive new, more complete characterizations and arcs.

This Casting Call is specifically for the Trailers. If you don't see your favorite character, fret not - a second casting call will occur later down the line for them as well.

It's been eighty years since the Great War of Remnant ravaged the Four Kingdoms of the world. The conflict, ended by the alliance of the kingdoms of Vale, Vacuo and Mistral against Mantle, brought with it many a change that would shake the world to its core.

After being forced to share many of its technological advances with the other three Kingdoms, Mantle, angered by the betrayal of its former allies in Mistral, grew deeply distrustful of outsiders and reformed itself into the Kingdom of Atlas, proclaiming complete isolation from the outside world. This paved the way for the Schnee Dust Company, the sole organization that had expanded its reach outside the Kingdom prior to the closure of its borders and one on which the Atlesian government had grown increasingly reliant on to ship all manners of weapons and supplies to the front lines via repurposing their intensive Dust distribution network, to increase its control over the populace by monopolizing foreign trade, with the Schnee Family quickly becoming some of the most powerful people in Atlas.

The other Kingdoms, still facing the combined threat of the Creatures of Grimm and the Faunus Supremacy group called the White Fang, entered an uneasy alliance and established the three Huntsmen Academies of Beacon, Haven and Shade to train the next generation of warriors, people strong enough to fend off the encroaching darkness. And yet tension remains: Vale and Vacuo's once amiable relationship is slowly falling apart due to border disputes, as the latter desires some of the more fertile lands situated just inside the Valean territory - lands which they are fiercely protective of. Mistral, already scorned by Atlas for its prior betrayal, is met with suspicion from the other two Kingdoms for its earlier allegiances and outdated policies that scarily resemble those of old Mantle.

And in the middle stand the Huntsmen, warriors who, on paper, hold allegiance to no state. Some respect such neutrality by acting for the good of all, while others are motivated by personal ideologies, biases and nationalism, and others again solely by coin. And amidst all this chaos, four souls decide to walk that path - rather fittingly, each for their own reasons.

A reaper, clad in red, seeking some idealized escape from the world and her tragedies.

A white-haired fugitive, running away from a fate she wants nothing to do with.

A shadow shrouded in black, finally turning her destiny around by trying to sever the threads of malice that bound her to another.

And a brawler with a golden, burning soul, seeking to find a connection that some unknown tragedy once robbed her of.

Their stories, fairy tales scattered through time... Merge together into a tale of bloody evolution.

Latest Updates

  • Auditions are officially closed!

Thank you to all who submitted your auditions!

We will now deliberate on casts and recasts, so worry not - even in the event you are not chosen for the role or roles you auditoned for, you will still be able to participate in the project, should you so choose!

A second casting call will be held in the event of us not being able to fill every spot in the cast. Thank you all for your patience!

  • Deadline Extension & New Roles

ATTENTION: We have decided to extend the Project's Deadline by a few months, from July to September. Additionally, rather than just the roles required in the trailers, we opted to add all the characters that will appear in Volume 1 to this Casting Call: Teams JNPR and CFVY, Cardin of Team CRDL, Roman Torchwick, and so on are all up for grabs!

Some characters have additionally been tagged as Minor Characters, which means that they will have a comparatively lesser role compared to others and will appear in only one episode or trailer. Of course, these characters can and will become relevant later, but in the context of Volume 1, their appearances and importance are sadly limited.

  • New role: Audio Engineer

We have added a new audio engineer role, to ensure the audio quality of the series is up to speed. If any of you are interested, be sure to audition!

  • Please only send one audition per character

I woke up today to find someone had sent the same exact audition ten or so times. Please, do not do that. If you wish to resubmit an audition, delete the previous one. Thank you.

As this series will be formatted a bit like a visual novel, it is fundamental to have someone with knowledge of video editing so that we may be able to ensure at least decent visuals.

Not much experience is required - merely being able to alternate background images and have PNGs appear on-screen as characters speak is more than enough.

While I am already writer and director for this project, I cannot go about it alone. As such, I need someone to bounce ideas off of, with whom I will be able to share ideas and figure out what works and what does not.

Experience is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with the setting of RWBY is, however, a necessity.

Ruby Rose

Role assigned to: FreeFanForever

A young girl from the island of Patch, Ruby has always seen herself as a dreamer - an ambitious girl who always sought to do what was right, exemplified by her wish to become an Huntress much like the father she grew up with and the mother she idolized, but never truly knew. Those same dreams that brought her under relentless bullying (after all, how could a pint-sized, wide-eyed brat survive long in a position such as that?) are the ones she stands by every second of every day... Though she often keeps them to herself, to avoid being judged - only ever showing her true self as she's extensively modifying her weapon, the Scythe-Sniper Rifle hybrid Crescent Rose, which she crafted herself. Now, as she nears the end of her time at the Preparatory Combat School of Signal, Ruby simply waits for the time when her dreams can come true... Not knowing that circumstances she cannot even imagine will soon force her to run wild much sooner than expected - and with much, much higher stakes.

Character Profile: While this incarnation of Ruby is still the wide-eyed dreamer we all know, she is noticeably more shy and doesn't actively wish to stand in the spotlight, or any position of leadership. That doesn't mean she lacks the enthusiastic nature of the Ruby we know and love - or her determination, for that matter. While meek and non-confrontational around strangers, placing her either alone, next to her close ones, or in front of a weaponsmithing bench will immediately cause her to get noticeably more enthusiastic, bolting around and speaking with uncharacteristic speed and eagerness. The simple soul that made her who she was is still there, it just takes a little digging to get there.

What we are looking for: A high-pitched voice, around teenager to young adult in regards to how old it sounds, with a gentle tone. When she is not in her element, she tends to stutter quite a bit, but when she is (usually when talking to her family and close friends, or when tinkering with weapons), she speaks incredibly quickly and with a great deal of excitability, as if she can finally let loose everything she doesn't feel like she can express openly.

Weiss Schnee

Role assigned to: NomblyWombly

The dignified heiress-to-be to the Schnee Dust Company, Weiss was born with the whole world at her beck and call. As all Atlesians are, she lived in ignorance of the world beyond her Kingdom, knowing solely about the "Foreign Empires" that lay beyond the borders of Atlas. But she, courtesy of her sheltered upbringing, was born with an unquenchable curiosity to see what lie beyond the confines of her perception, first by exploring the outside beyond her mansion, then by desiring to leave Atlas itself behind and see the wider world. Despite her Kingdom's isolation, word of the fabled Huntsmen Academies reached even her - and, immediately drawn to the idea, she started to train behind her father's, Jacques Schnee's, back, with help from her older sister, Winter.

Sure enough, her parent, already hyperprotective of her after Winter left the family behind to join the Atlesian military, staunchly opposed her ideals once he was presented with them, despite being the one man in Atlas able to make them come true. But just as she came of age, Weiss went against her father's vision of her as his pet and smuggled herself onto one of the SDC's Dust transports, arriving in Vale clandestinely.

Knowing full-well that her father will do anything in her power to catch up to her, Weiss now tries to adapt to her new life away from the comfort she had once taken for granted, trying to finally understand how one lives on the earth after looking down upon it from the clouds.

Character Profile: This incarnation of Weiss resembles her canonical self, in that she is having a hard time adapting to her new circumstances of life after coming from the richest possible environment in the world. Prideful to a fault and still adhering to her stereotyped views of Faunuskind, she is extremely naive and is completely out of touch with things that many others would find banal - such as fast food, disco parties, and even simple hanging out between friends. However, she is also extremely curious and tends to ask many questions about anything, showing at least some interest - positive or negative - in anything she does not know.

What we are looking for: A mature, prideful and cold teenager voice, belonging to someone who knows how to behave herself and knows it. Arrogant and haughty when she feels she has the advantage in the conversation, and clearly appalled whenever she is contested. However, she does possess a softer side underneath her cold shell. She tends to light up whenever something genuinely interests her, or when people act in a manner she deems fitting, her voice becoming warmer and friendlier.

  • (Genuinely curious, though a bit annoyed at the beginning) "(Ugh, I can't believe I'm asking you this...) You know, there is something I heard one of the girls say that I am... intrigued by. Tell me, do you know what a... 'Fast food' is?

Blake Belladonna

Role assigned to: shucaisan

For as long as Blake can remember, Faunuskind has always been a shackled people. Discriminated for their animal-like traits, they faced hatred and violence until they finally bared their fangs and bit back. The White Fang was founded as an activist group to guarantee their rights - a group she actively aided as far back as her childhood, back when the most offensive actions they would take were boycotts and rallies. But it all changed when Sienna Khan and her faction of supremacists started to gather more and more power.
Despite not enjoying violence, Blake - still young and impressionable took their side, in no small part because of her admiration for her prime enforcer, Adam Taurus, which would soon turn into a romantic relationship between them. But as the years passed and Blake matured, she finally started to see the White Fang and Adam for the monster they had become. They were now violent supremacists who were drifting away from their once-noble intentions - her beloved himself was far from the man she once followed, now a rage-filled husk out for human blood. That was not what she had signed up for. And so, as painful as it was to her heart, she left him and the cause behind. It was the only way to not lose herself in turn.

Now, still entangled in the web of hatred she once reveled in and on the run from the very same people she once called friends, Blake desperately tries to unlearn what she picked up on over the years, all while attending Vale's Beacon Academy to attain the power needed to truly make a difference.

Character Profile: Blake is not one to openly speak about her interests or past. She appears as quiet and aloof, carrying herself with an aria of mystique. Her confidence differs from Weiss' smug superiority or Yang's exuberant cockiness, in that she is aware of what she can do and how well she can do it, and states it as fact, without grandstanding to prop herself up. While she is willing to interact with others and can reveal herself to be surprisingly friendly to those she warms up to, her firmly established boundaries and great sense of privacy mean she will reject any and all attempt at interaction that are not on her terms, often doing so via passive-aggressive words that barely manage to convey her emotions through her stoic facade. Those who do abide by her terms and manage to get close to her, however, will find out she is not so above it all deep down...

Nonetheless, Blake's past has left her deeply mistrustful of humans - a flaw she is aware of, and yet cannot seem to overcome. Years of seeing the worst humanity has to offer don't just go away with a short introspection, after all.

What we are looking for: A mid-to-low pitch teenager voice. Blake appears as perpetually calm and aloof - keeping her emotions restrained and in check under most circumstances. Her anger is expressed as mild irritation, her happiness by a small smile and a chuckle. She does not like to reveal her true feelings to others, usually trying her best to sound serious if she is ever forced to, but in those moments she cannot help but speak with a tinge of regret or sadness that her stoic facade cannot hide. And when those emotions she usually hides and bottles up have no choice but to come out... They do so with all the sincerity she doesn't allow herself to show.

  • (Angry and saddened, as if months' of pent-up negativity finally broke out) "There's no such thing as pure evil! Why do you think they hate Humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin - people like YOU - that force the White Fang to take such drastic measures!"

Yang Xiao Long

Role assigned to: Solaria

The firstborn child of Taiyang Xiao Long and older half-sister of Ruby Rose, Yang has clearly taken much after her brilliant father. A talented and skilled Huntress-in-training in her own right, Yang is a shining flame that projects a great light, inevitably drawing people to her with her extroverted personality, penchant for jokes, great looks, and formidable combat abilities. By far Signal Academy's most promising graduate, many look forward to seeing how well she'll fare in Beacon.

However, Yang has her own burdens to bear, more important to her than the weight of expectations. After her mother, Raven, left her behind, and her mom, Summer Rose - someone whom she had grown to love as if she had been the one to birth her - died, forcing her to take over her role as Ruby's mentor and caregiver, Yang has become fixated on being "of use", shouldering any weight she feels her close ones - her sister first and foremost - cannot bear by themselves... No matter how much she herself is hurt in the process.

Character Profile: Yang is a warm and expressive soul, that enjoys making new friends and leading the way forward. Bright and extroverted, she is fiercely loyal and has utmost confidence in her own and her allies' abilities, throwing quips as she fights and rarely, if ever, taking any given fight with complete seriousness... Unless her precious mane of golden hair is damaged in any way, at which point she quite literally explodes. An inspiring presence on the battlefield and a comforting friend off of it, Yang is always willing to lend everyone an ear and patiently listen to their troubles - whether they themselves are ready to speak them, or not.

However, under all the warmth and bravado, Yang has her weaknesses. For all her willingness to help others, she is also unable to help herself, being willing to put herself in harm's way with no regard to her own troubles or well being. As good as she is at being other people's shoulder to lean on, she is unable to look inward at herself.

What we are looking for: A warm, friendly young adult-to-teenager voice. Yang's a joyful friend who enjoys speaking with others, and that confident, extroverted nature permeates her word. She can sound confident and joking, or comforting and parently, or (in the rare occurrence her family, friends, or hair are threatened) become a blazing volcano of utter, unadultered rage.

Jaune Arc

Jaune Arc has quite the illustrious lineage to his name. His grandfather was a hero of the Great War who tragically lost his life in the Battle of Wind Path, valiantly standing his ground against the Atlesians and Mistralians alongside his platoon to allow the greater Valean army to escape a deadly ambush. His fame would spearhead his son’s political career - after all, the child of such a legendary figure would surely have inherited his parent’s dutiful and honest nature - and lead the Arc family to become widely respected movers and shakers of Vale’s governing Council, with their new patriarch attaining fame for both high skill in the battlefield of politics and an ear that was always ready to pick up on his people’s plights. Jaune, as the one son of the family and the youngest of eight siblings, felt it was his duty to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers, and as such opted to grab ahold of his grandfather’s weapons and turn to the one place where he could both become a valiant hero like him, and achieve the same level of respect as his father: Vale’s Beacon Academy. But one question remains: Does he have the skills necessary to survive, in a line of duty as dangerous as that of a Huntsman?

Character Profile: Jaune is a young man whose desire is to show the world he means business. While he is naturally kind and good-hearted, and his motivations are, at their core, pure, he always acts like he’s overcompensating for something, wanting to be seen while he performs heroics and being almost overly defensive of his accomplishments. In general, Jaune projects an aura of false confidence - as if all he does and says is a disguise, trying to divert the gazes of students and professors alike away from cracks in his facade that, day after day, are becoming more and more difficult to hide.°

What we are looking for: Jaune is a young man with a mid-to-high pitched voice. Most of the time, he sounds like he is confident and energetic - but in the same way a coffee or an energy drink might make you. It’s projected, “false” confidence, a facade he desperately clings to - and when it slips, all that is left is a meek, whimpering mess of a teenager that is left trying to mentally justify his own mistakes.

  • (With newfound determination, for the first time actually and sincerely confident) "I don't care what you do to me... but you are not messing with my team!"

Best friend of Ren and one of Beacon’s newest students, Nora is as joyous and hyperactive as they come. Having known Ren since childhood, she is his most stalwart companion and supporter - the brawn to his brains.

Character Profile: Nora is the definition of chaotic good. She is kind, enthusiastic and has an intuitive understanding of when not to push boundaries, but she is also incredibly direct and hyperactive, rarely ever standing still. She speaks quickly and acts quicker still, never stopping to think without Ren reining her in. After all, the best solution to a problem is to hammer down on it until it stops being a problem. At her core, however, Nora is someone who is much too used to identifying herself as part of something bigger - and as such, she struggles to process what she truly wants over what everyone else would prefer, both on small matters and in life-or-death scenarios

What we are looking for: Nora is a young woman with a high-pitched, incredibly cheerful voice. She speaks at lightning speeds and is tremendously enthusiastic, all while being capable of a berserker rage at her angriest points. Nonetheless, her nigh-unmatched levels of emotional awareness mean she will always be ready to assume a comforting and caring tone if need be.

A prodigious warrior from Mistral, perhaps the best of her age, Pyrrha Nikos is a young woman of great valor, who is all-too aware of her reputation. Receiving many sponsorships despite her young age, she is as close to a celebrity as a Huntress-in-Training can be. And yet, she tries her best to remain humble - for the fame she has gained is the least of her concerns, compared to the pursuit of greater strength to put to use for the betterment of the people of all Kingdoms.

Character Profile: Already having the reputation of ‘The Invincible Girl’, Pyrrha is a fighting prodigy. A skilled fighter in both long range and melee, and highly intelligent, Pyrrha has always wanted to be a Huntress, and has put in the work to get where she is today. Usually seen for what she is rather than who, she places tremendous trust in those who can look past her fame and see the person she is behind it. Pyrrha’s dream is and always has been to be a hero, and to save those who cannot save themselves, and she fully intends to fulfil that dream.

What We Are Looking For: Pyrrha is a young woman in her late teens. She is a friendly and caring person, and that comes through in her voice. Her polite and kind tones will need to be contrasted with her lowest moments, full of insecurity and sorrow.

Ren is a new first-year student of Beacon and Nora’s best friend, who describes him as ‘basically a ninja’. A quiet, intelligent, and insightful young man who has a very patient and controlled demeanour. That’s not to say he is cold by any means, as he cares very deeply for those around him, often providing wisdom or pancakes when needed.

Character Profile: The epitome of the Voice of Reason in a group of chaos, Ren is often delegated the task of reeling in Nora, and sometimes his other teammates, from their wacky shenanigans. That’s not to say he has little time for fun, as serious as he usually is. He can get very focused on the task at hand, and may need a bit of a nudge backwards to be reminded of the bigger picture. His good-natured bickering, most often with Nora, highlights his quick wit and confidence to stand his ground.

What We Are Looking For: Ren is a young man in his late teens to early twenties, with a wisdom beyond his years. While he is in control of his voice and tone, he is not a monotonous individual. And there will come times when Ren’s control on his emotions is broken, and his actor must be able and willing to showcase that range.

Coco is the Leader of Team CFVY (Pronounced Coffee) and one of Beacon’s top students despite only being in her second year. A young woman that carries herself with an air of complete and utter confidence, she dresses just as impeccably as she fights, and sets a high bar for what is considered an excellent leader. But perhaps… It wasn’t always like that.

Character Profile: To call Coco’s confidence ‘unshakeable’ would be the understatement of the century. She always projects an aura of security and pride, never backing down from her position and being more than ready to stand firm when she is challenged, never softening the blow whether in combat or while talking. She says what she wants, fights how she wants, dresses how she wants - and no one can tell her otherwise. But beneath her tough exterior, Coco does have a genuine good heart, even if she has little chances of showing it, and now that the new batch of first years has arrived… Well, you never know if one of them may need some help now, do you?

What we are looking for: Coco is a young woman in her late teens, with a mid-to-low pitched voice that oozes complete and utter confidence that almost borders on arrogance. Even when speaking normally, Coco never lets any vulnerability show, and is completely and utterly honest. That bluntness and confidence remain even when she is showing her more gentle side. In such scenarios, she has a sense of wisdom and experience in her voice, as she shows the abilities that led her to becoming Team CFVY’s leader.

[MINOR ROLE]

A member of Team CFVY and a shining example of how physical inderance does little to stop a Huntsman’s righteous pursuit, Fox’s fate was apparently sealed during his childhood in Vacuo: born blind, it was believed he wouldn’t survive long. He would defy all expectations and go on to attend Beacon, refusing to let his inability to see shape him and proving it takes more than fate’s cruel hand to even slow him down.

Character Profile: Fox is a person who respects someone’s skills and actions over their appearance. His blindness makes him patient and insightful, allowing him to form accurate judgements from the limited information he can perceive through his other senses. He is an unyielding ally to his friends and a merciless bane for his enemies, who should not (and refuses to) be underestimated due to his disability.

What we are looking for: Fox is a young man with a mid-to-low pitched voice, with a slight rasp to his tone. He has a sly and confident air to him, much like his namesake, and he can be utterly sincere - both positively and negatively speaking.

Her heritage and ‘secret weapon’ of a Semblance means she’s viewed by others as being weak, or lesser than those around her. But Velvet has learned to keep a smile on her face, which is made all-the-easier with her teammates by her side.

However, her small stature and quiet nature have also meant she is the target for bullies of all kinds. Perceived as the weakest member of her otherwise powerful team, Velvet’s self esteem has been knocked several times. [MINOR ROLE]

A member of Team CFVY. A young man from Mistral who has a heart of gold, yet sometimes fumbles the execution of well-meant words. Yatsuhashi is very protective of all his teammates, and only lets his anger show if they have been wronged or harmed.

Character Profile: A big man with a big sword, bigger muscles, and a bigger heart, Yatsuhashi is a man of few words. Constantly aware of his strength and unapproachable appearance, Yastu takes extra care to be careful when around others, both on the battlefield, and off. His slightly sheltered upbringing means he can accidentally say something insensitive, or miss unspoken signals in conversations. But he is truly a good-natured man at heart, and is constantly trying to be better at social cues, with the help of his teammates.

A student hailing from a fallen noble house of Vale who lost its status following the Great War, Cardin was nonetheless groomed as the heir to a nonexistent fortune. His parents, in turn children of Atlesian sympathisers, sent him off to Beacon so that he may accrue prestige and return the family to its former glory - and Cardin, bringing with him their creed of hateful superiority, has no intention of disappointing them.

Character Profile: Cardin is a ruthless and power-hungry bully who treats everyone, his own peanut gallery notwithstanding, like garbage. A creature of bigotry and prejudice, he is racist towards Faunus and subscribes to a strict doctrine of social darwinism, believing that superior status and physical might are cause enough for him to be superior to all others. At his core, however, he is just another whimpering coward.

What we are looking for: Cardin’s voice is that of a young man, with a low, menacing pitch. He is arrogant, cruel and mocking, his malevolence obvious in his tone filled with not-so-passive-aggressiveness and belittling cruelty. The Headmaster of Beacon Academy. His words and actions elicit respect from even the most navigated and skilled Huntsmen, who look for advice and wisdom from him. Privy to every secret scattered across the world and gifted with an almost supernatural accuracy in judging characters, Ozpin protects the world from what lurks in the shadows... And he is willing to do so at any cost.

Character Profile: Ozpin is a trusted figure, who knows when to follow the rules, when to bend them, and when to break them. His personality is a complex mesh of traits, being affable and light-hearted while also retaining a serious demeanor and being more than willing to place his students in harm's way to ensure they have the strength, physical and spiritual, to survive. Being almost superhumanly adept at seeing through lies and discovering what lies at the core of someone's soul, Ozpin is an excellent judge of characters and is by no means averse to taking gambles and risks - which, more often than not, will pay off.

What we are looking for: A mature adult, who is capable of being serious, comforting, stern, lighthearted, and any combination thereof. He clearly possesses great wisdom, and his voice reflects that, giving off the aura of someone who always knows what is happening and what should be done. Beacon Academy’s stern Vice-Headmistress, Glynda is the stick to Ozpin’s carrot. She trains her students with the vicious seriousness of a drill sergeant, expecting nothing short of excellence. After all, when it comes to upholding the frail balance of the world, paired with the dark secrets she has been made aware of, perfection is the only acceptable result.

Character Profile: Glynda is a solemn and serious woman with barely any concept of humour, putting up a stern, business-like demeanour that can terrify any student into silence. She is brutal in her teachings and has lofty standards, but is genuinely confident in her students’ skills once they prove themselves. She may have to harden her heart to train those who shall defend the world - but she has not carved it out of her chest as many think she has.

What We Are Looking For: Glynda is a mid-to-low pitched woman with a serious and cold demeanour. Beacon’s history professor, Oobleck is the grandson of Atlesian immigrants who fled the country before its isolation, bringing with them the true reasons behind the Great War. It was thanks to his forefathers that the full picture could be written about the conflict - ergo, it’s unsurprising to find out the level of importance Oobleck attributes to history. He now seeks to lead his students through critical analysis of the history he teaches, so that by learning from their past, they may build a beautiful future.

Character Profile: Oobleck is a middle ground between the stern Professor Goodwitch and the light-hearted Professor Port. A kind man who knows when to joke around, he zips around while sipping coffee from his trusty thermos, inspecting any student’s work with a degree of care unbefitting of someone with such a rampant caffeine addiction and punishing distractions harshly. He is a good man with his heart in the right place, who is in it to make sure the world-shaping errors of the past remain a distant memory.

What We Are Looking For: Oobleck is an adult with a mid-to-high pitched voice. Character Profile: Peter Port is a man who has seen it all. He carries himself with the jolly air of a grandfather, telling stories of his legendary deeds to students that may very well be his grandchildren - and though he does not shy away from exaggerating his achievements, he can and will instruct the next generation of Huntsmen with the rigour and empathy he deems necessary, being more than willing to give them a listening ear.

Role assigned to: The Greater-Scope Villain

The CEO of the Schnee Dust Company and Weiss' father, Jacques is one of the most powerful men in Atlas, on the same level as the likes of the Supreme General. While the SDC retaining its overseas assets was one of the clauses of the peace treaty of Vytal, and its founder Nicholas Schnee had managed to exempt those same assets from Atlas' nationwide lockdown through political and criminal work, clever loopholes, and by calling on the company's merits during the Great War, it was Jacques who truly put those assets to use and turned the SDC into one of Remnant's greatest economical powerhouses, being the sole gateway between Atlas and the wider world - a world too afraid to wage war on Atlas by attacking these overseas territories, lest another Great War breaks out.

Jacques stands above this empire and rules it with a cold iron fist, employing business tactics that many would deem unethical just to further enrich himself. Now, however, between the White Fang's rising power putting his supply lines at risk and his daughter's escape, he finds himself forced to take more... Radical actions.

Character profile: Jacques is a businessman at heart, whose main drive is to earn more, more quickly and more efficiently. He is arrogant and entitled, believing his wealth and power automatically place him above the common man, and is not above punishing anyone who criticizes him with childish pettiness.

At his core, for all his skill in politics and management, Jacques is just that: an entitled child, who believes everything is supposed to go his way. And when it does not, he punishes any interference with brutal viciousness.

What we are looking for: A middle-aged man's voice, sounding as if he is trying too hard to appear elegant and measured. When he doesn't get his way, Jacques becomes childish, unrefined and comically furious.

The butler of the Schnee Family, and one of the last connection they share with the now-deceased Nicholas Schnee. He faithfully served the family as a butler for many years, staying at his master's side even while he was at his deathbed, and being rewarded for his loyalty with the role of master of the house.
As Jacques Gelé married Willow and took over the company, Klein saw his new master as he emotionally manipulated his bride and corrupted everything Nicholas had built. Still bound by his respect for the man that had changed his life and well aware that he had to stay close to Willow, just like when they were young, Klein silently bears the weight of all of Jacques' misdeeds, putting his trust in his new master's children.

Character Profile: Klein is a kind man, with an undying loyalty to the Schnee household. He is greatly resentful of Jacques for having shattered the once-peaceful family, but a combination of his work's nature, his inability to speak up - lest he be fired - and his desire to stay close to his friend, Willow, means he has to keep his feelings to himself. He otherwise projects the image of the perfect butler, acting as advisor, mentor and friend to thee Schnee children.

What we are looking for: A middle-aged voice that speaks in a warm and friendly, and yet still eloquent and composed tone. Supreme General James Ironwood

Role assigned to: Marissa

[MINOR ROLE]

Atlas was always a highly militaristic state even before the Great War, but after its isolation from the world, the title of "Supreme General" grew beyond its original scope. At first, it referred to the military's commander-in-chief, but now its bearer is the absolute and unquestionable head of state of the entire Kingdom. James Ironwood is the sixth and youngest holder of the title in Atlas' young history, and he displays even more wholehearted dedication to his duties and to the laws of the Lex Atlantis than his predecessors. A firm believer in the need for his Kingdom's isolation, Ironwood seeks to make it clear that none may leave Atlas - not even the SDC, whose influence he is slowly trying to unravel from his state. Though, with their claws sunken so deep in every facet of the state's existence, from the life of everyday citizen to the whole state's economy, he is forced to play by their rules - and yet he perseveres, even if it means going to lengths even his predecessors didn't dare reach.

Character Profile: Ironwood is a serious, precise and commanding individual, befitting his role as the bastion of Atlas' value. He follows the laws of the Lex Atlantis to the absolute letter and holds them to the highest level of respect, being furious every time he sees them being bent or ignored - most often than not, by his nemesis Jacques Schnee. In fact, as much as he acknowledges his industry's purpose in Atlas, James utterly despises the SDC for their monopoly over the Kingdom's economic sphere thanks to their vast, overseas Dust mines - mines he feels are in violation of the Lex Atlantis despite them being legally protected in the same document - giving them access to by far the largest supply of the substance in all of Atlas. He seeks to dislodge their hold over his kingdom instead of staying silent like his predecessors, and will go to any length the law allows him to reach to do so.

What we are looking for: A responsible and serious adult voice, with a slow and methodical speech pattern. He is formal and collected, without the forced elegance of Jacques Schnee, and keeps his emotions in check with superior grace compared to his rival. He has an authoritative voice that reveals no weaknesses, and he never raises his voice beyond what is strictly necessary.

Role assigned to: kyra

A prototype meant to usher in a new era for Atlesian robotics, Penny (A mere pseudonym derived from her project name) has been activated early in its (or ‘her’, as the main developer of the project, Pietro Polendina, insists) development at the behest of Jacques Schnee, the main sponsor behind the initiative. The intent? To find and bring back his fleeing daughter. Stuck in a limbo between that fundamental directive and the programming Pietro installed, this android is trying to understand what, or who, it (or she) wishes to be.

Character Profile: Penny’s emotions are a mere imitation of the real thing - a series of zeros and ones that hide the cold machinery beneath. Any opinion or bond formed through them is therefore a lie, carefully crafted by the machine so that the mission may be fulfilled. And yet, there is a yearning for more, a desire instilled by the original programming put in place by Pietro Polendina: to learn and evolve beyond the boundaries of a mere machine, until eventually, said programming is replaced by free will. But… is such a thing truly possible?

What We Are Looking For: Penny’s voice is that of a young woman, with a high pitch and a false cheerfulness and curiosity befitting any machine. Behind the false projection of humanity, lies only an emotionless android that relies solely on logic and its own programming, with a single-minded drive to complete the mission at any cost. However, in some aspects, Penny is truly and sincerely curious, being as genuinely interested as can be in understanding how people work - perhaps due to some hidden ambition a robot should not feel...

Character Profile: Pietro is a gentle old man with a big heart. He despises seeing his inventions misused, but is pragmatic enough to cut corners if he is demanded to - albeit begrudgingly, for he does not enjoy confrontation. A principled and kind soul, he is an outlier within Atlas’ people.

What We Are Looking For: Pietro is a senior with a mid-to-low pitched voice. He speaks slowly and calmly, and he rarely raises his voice - showing concern and worry where others show anger. One of the White Fang's most acclaimed and feared members, Adam is Sienna Khan's right-hand man and one of the most strenuous proponents of Faunus supremacy.

A victim of racism and discrimination in the SDC's work camps since his youth, Adam eventually reached the end of his rope. Choosing to become the monster he was seen as, he became Sienna's most loyal supporter after their escape from the mines. He would swiftly grow in rank and influence in the White Fang's midst, eventually starting a relationship with Blake Belladonna, with whom he cooperated on multiple instances. As his devotion to their cause grew ever stronger, however, Adam would end up losing Blake as well: Seeding what her partner had become, she abandoned him and the White Fang - a betrayal that stoked the flames of rage ever higher in Adam's heart.

Now, Adam dedicates himself wholeheartedly to the White Fang's cause, as a merciless and ruthless leader - all while waiting for the day when Blake will be made to pay for leaving their glorious purpose behind.

Character Profile: Adam is callous, showing a cold indifference to the suffering of humans and the death of his own men. His every action, motivated by his scorching hatred for humanity and his belief in their utter inferiority, is motivated towards proving Faunus are the superior species, to the degree of obsession. To him, no cost is excessive, no hesitation is tolerable... And no traitor is forgivable.

What we are looking for: A cold and callous young adult voice, sounding as if he is constantly trying to suppress an enormous amount of anger. [MINOR ROLE]

As the heir to Vale's greatest criminal organization, the Xiong Family, Junior once held great fortune and was considered to have a great future ahead of himself. He had it all - wealth, fear, and a life of luxury. His father's criminal empire ran far and wide, he had all of Vale at his fingertips... But when it came time for him to take over, it turned out he wasn't nearly as skillful in administration as his old man was. Soon, Junior's influence and power was reduced to a shell of its former state; gone where the days where he felt like he owned the world, because now all the property he had to his name was a nightclub, which he made into his base of operation.
Nonetheless, the one major resource Junior managed to hold onto was his father's old information network, which allows him to know more or less everything that occurs in Vale. His brokering of information, paired with the occasional mercenary job taken by his boys, is now the venture through which Junior hopes to bring the Xiong Family back into the limelight.

Character Profile: Junior is an overconfident and brash bully, whose upbringing has obviously made him into the man-child he is today. He believes he is owed everything and does not value hard work, merely having his goons do everything for him and using his influence (or what's left of it, anyway) to get his way. But place him in front of someone who can take his bullying and turn the tables on him, and Junior will become just as terrified of them as he thinks the world is of him.

What we are looking for: A man characterized by his gruff, confident adult voice, Junior is arrogant and bossy in his demeanor, bullying others into getting what he wants until the situation turns around. If he is not the one in control, not only will he try to attain it by all means available to him, he will first show anger and fury, and then - once those prove ineffective - finally reveal his true, cowardly self.

[MINOR ROLE]

The Malachite Twins (Miltia, dressed in red, and Melanie, garbed in white) are Junior's right-hand women and bodyguards. Skilled assassins and negotiators, these two are the children of the Mistralian crime boss Li'l Miss Malachite, leader of the Underworld syndicate known as Spider, and their allegiance to the Xiong Family also acts as an unofficial peace treaty between the two groups, who have vowed not to encroach on each other's territories. Whether they are truly interested in keeping the peace between the factions, or are there on their mother's behalf to lay the killing blow to the weakened Xiongs, is unknown.

Character Profile: Despite sharing the same appearance, the twins possess very distinct personalities. Nonetheless, they are very much in tune with each other, so much so that they often finish each other's sentences or speak in perfect unison.

  • Miltia is, at first sight, the calmer of the two, rarely wanting to stir up trouble and listening to Junior's orders with little fuss. However, in combat, she takes pleasure in dragging battles out and has a sadistic streak, showing a very dark side of herself.
  • Melanie is arrogant and haughty, having taken a lot after her mother. She is ambitious and sound-minded, taking it upon herself to rein Miltia in during fights. She fights methodically and efficiently, and prefers to end fights quickly.

What we are looking for: While both sisters share the same teenager/young adult voice, they have different tones and manners of speech that, while similar, set them apart.

  • Miltia speaks shyly, often relying on her sister to finish her sentences or speak along with her. In battle, she has a bloodthirsty and crazed tone, prone to bursts of manic laughter.
  • Melanie is arrogant and bossy, much like her boss, often demeaning who she is talking to and speaking on behalf of her sister. On the opposite side, she is unusually silent during fights, only speaking to keep Miltia's sadistic tendencies at bay.

An up-and-coming criminal Mastermind in Vale, Roman took the criminal world by storm, forcing other Criminal organisations into submission through nothing but a shrewd way of doing business and displays of overwhelming power. Immensely talented when it comes to fine-tuning the way his own Aura operates, Roman’s skillset shows similarities with the one of trained Mistralian Huntsmen - though Haven Academy denies all involvement with him.

Character Profile: Roman is a show-offish, confident and sly criminal who has seen a lot and is immensely difficult to impress. He is a man with no honour who simply follows the unwritten laws of the criminal world: the strong write the rules and the weak shut up and bow their heads - and he just so happens to believe himself the strongest there is. He will use any opportunity he gets to bring ahead, no matter how cruel it may be - because at the end of the day, lying, cheating and stealing are simply avenues of survival for him to exploit at his leisure.

What We Are Looking For: Roman is a man with a mid-pitched voice and a bombastic, arrogant tone. He has an aria of absolute confidence in every word he utters, and is prone to outbursts of anger when things don’t go his way. He is blunt, mocking and cruel - and his voice should show that darkness as clearly as day.

  • (Slightly frustrated, but keeping his confident demeanor) "Well, "Red", I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd love to stick around, I'm afraid this is where we part ways..."

  • (Proud of himself, intimidating and showing off his own power) "Look around, kid, I've got this town running scared. Police camping out at every corner, Dust prices through the roof and we're sitting pretty in an old warehouse with more Dust crystals, vials and rounds than we know what to do with."

  • (Cruelly lecturing, frustrated at continuous interference) "You got spirit, Red. But this is the real world! The real world is COLD! The real world doesn't care about spirit!"
