For as long as Blake can remember, Faunuskind has always been a shackled people. Discriminated for their animal-like traits, they faced hatred and violence until they finally bared their fangs and bit back. The White Fang was founded as an activist group to guarantee their rights - a group she actively aided as far back as her childhood, back when the most offensive actions they would take were boycotts and rallies. But it all changed when Sienna Khan and her faction of supremacists started to gather more and more power.
Despite not enjoying violence, Blake - still young and impressionable took their side, in no small part because of her admiration for her prime enforcer, Adam Taurus, which would soon turn into a romantic relationship between them. But as the years passed and Blake matured, she finally started to see the White Fang and Adam for the monster they had become. They were now violent supremacists who were drifting away from their once-noble intentions - her beloved himself was far from the man she once followed, now a rage-filled husk out for human blood. That was not what she had signed up for. And so, as painful as it was to her heart, she left him and the cause behind. It was the only way to not lose herself in turn.

Now, still entangled in the web of hatred she once reveled in and on the run from the very same people she once called friends, Blake desperately tries to unlearn what she picked up on over the years, all while attending Vale's Beacon Academy to attain the power needed to truly make a difference.

Character Profile: Blake is not one to openly speak about her interests or past. She appears as quiet and aloof, carrying herself with an aria of mystique. Her confidence differs from Weiss' smug superiority or Yang's exuberant cockiness, in that she is aware of what she can do and how well she can do it, and states it as fact, without grandstanding to prop herself up. While she is willing to interact with others and can reveal herself to be surprisingly friendly to those she warms up to, her firmly established boundaries and great sense of privacy mean she will reject any and all attempt at interaction that are not on her terms, often doing so via passive-aggressive words that barely manage to convey her emotions through her stoic facade. Those who do abide by her terms and manage to get close to her, however, will find out she is not so above it all deep down...

Nonetheless, Blake's past has left her deeply mistrustful of humans - a flaw she is aware of, and yet cannot seem to overcome. Years of seeing the worst humanity has to offer don't just go away with a short introspection, after all.

What we are looking for: A mid-to-low pitch teenager voice. Blake appears as perpetually calm and aloof - keeping her emotions restrained and in check under most circumstances. Her anger is expressed as mild irritation, her happiness by a small smile and a chuckle. She does not like to reveal her true feelings to others, usually trying her best to sound serious if she is ever forced to, but in those moments she cannot help but speak with a tinge of regret or sadness that her stoic facade cannot hide. And when those emotions she usually hides and bottles up have no choice but to come out... They do so with all the sincerity she doesn't allow herself to show.

  • (Calm and serious, as if talking about something of great importance) "There's too much wrong in this world to just stand by and do nothing. Inequality, corruption... Someone has to stop it."

  • (Irritated, but clearly trying to appear calm) "Yes - it's lovely! Almost as lovely as this book... That I will continue to read... As soon as you leave..."

  • (Angry and saddened, as if months' of pent-up negativity finally broke out) "There's no such thing as pure evil! Why do you think they hate Humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin - people like YOU - that force the White Fang to take such drastic measures!"
