A prototype meant to usher in a new era for Atlesian robotics, Penny (A mere pseudonym derived from her project name) has been activated early in its (or ‘her’, as the main developer of the project, Pietro Polendina, insists) development at the behest of Jacques Schnee, the main sponsor behind the initiative. The intent? To find and bring back his fleeing daughter. Stuck in a limbo between that fundamental directive and the programming Pietro installed, this android is trying to understand what, or who, it (or she) wishes to be.

Character Profile: Penny’s emotions are a mere imitation of the real thing - a series of zeros and ones that hide the cold machinery beneath. Any opinion or bond formed through them is therefore a lie, carefully crafted by the machine so that the mission may be fulfilled. And yet, there is a yearning for more, a desire instilled by the original programming put in place by Pietro Polendina: to learn and evolve beyond the boundaries of a mere machine, until eventually, said programming is replaced by free will. But… is such a thing truly possible?

What We Are Looking For: Penny’s voice is that of a young woman, with a high pitch and a false cheerfulness and curiosity befitting any machine. Behind the false projection of humanity, lies only an emotionless android that relies solely on logic and its own programming, with a single-minded drive to complete the mission at any cost. However, in some aspects, Penny is truly and sincerely curious, being as genuinely interested as can be in understanding how people work - perhaps due to some hidden ambition a robot should not feel...
