Please note!! As of January 14th this project is supposed to be unlisted! If you find your way here, you are still welcome to apply, but bear in mind that I don’t plan on starting major work for quite some time - about a month from now.
I still need to do some planning and prep work before assets are needed. I apologize for any confusion that’s been caused!
Hi! I’m looking to piece together a little RPGmaker game. Want to join?
To manage expectations as a preface, this is nothing spectacular. I would simply like to create something nice to gain experience and better understand the creative process in a team. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in entertaining, this may be the right project for you.
I intend to publish an RPGmaker game about a doctor, an archeologist, and a museum. It’ll take place long after the end of the world. Major themes include the dynamics surrounding grief and conviction.
This game will be published on Steam and released for free.
Roles Include:
Artist ( For RPGmaker assets )
Musician ( For game music )
Advisor ( For RPGmaker MV )
Writer / Editor ( To test and help )
Voice Actor ( Optional, providing creative options )
I am hoping to invest a maximum of $1000 into this tiny project of experience-gaining, but if costs for art and music continue to climb due to increased need, I can stretch towards $2000 as a hard ceiling. Paypal and Venmo both work for me. If this game does end up showing promise for whatever reason - magically, dare I say - I would be open to look into a kickstarter of some sort to fund further assets, and we can agree on whether we want to continue development or not. I haven’t thought that far and highly doubt it would get anywhere close to that.
It would be extremely beneficial to be available at least once a week for communication, and remain available for around two months. A Discord account for communication would be highly appreciated to facilitate group communication and such. If this project shows promise into the future, I would be eager to talk about doing more cool stuff.
That said, I anticipate development to progress as an after-work, side-project over two months at least. As needs for art, music and other assets arise throughout the development of the game, I will be reaching out to you to help brainstorm these assets and eventually implement them. Anything else will be entirely up to our happy little talks and such. If there’s anything you wish to experiment with creatively, I’d love to work with you there, too.
End State:
