Ready for Imminent
Project Overview
Ready for Imminent is a story about an overworked police tactical unit facing different situations in the city, no matter how bad the situation is, they must be ready. The situation of the city, Portview City is unforgiving. Violence is a daily occurrence and police officers are unfortunately murdered on a daily basis. It is the sole responsibility of the PCPD's Special Weapons Assault Team to Bring Order to Chaos. (Inspired by the video game: Ready or Not made by Void Interactive.)

SWAT officers are the main characters in the story, overworked, frustrated and tasked with dealing with the most unpleasant and difficult tasks beyond patrol officers' capabilities. The SWAT officers must act with utmost professionalism, caution and cooperation with teammates. One move could result in the life or death of themselves, or innocent civilians as well. (NOTE: Please use a mic that has statics but can still be heard clearly for radio transmissions dialogues (marked with an "R" at the end of the dialogue.)

Sierras are sniper units in the SWAT team, they are side characters in the story, tasked with providing overwatch from different angles in concealed and relatively safe positions. Sierra teams must cooperate with teammates, and respond to threats with unmatched precision and extremely quick reaction time. Abel-1 is a helicopter unit for the SWAT team that provides aerial aid by transporting officers to a scene, aerial surveillance with thermal and IR imaging, pinpointing suspects' locations with the mounted spotlight and making directional callouts of suspects. The, pilot, Sergeant John "Bull" Acostop is responsible for assisting ground units by providing aerial surveillance, directional callouts and pinpointing suspect locations with the mounted spotlight. During operations, there is always someone waiting for answers and monitoring the SWAT team, the TOC (pronounced "Talk") or Tactical Operations Command. The TOC is responsible for overseeing operations and providing instructions to officers on scene.

Patrol officers in this story are officers who work on the frontline everyday. In Portview City, patrol officers face the most gruelling and ruthless environments. Gun violence is a daily occurrence in Portview City and many men and women in blue in the city have sacrificed their lives to fulfill their duties protecting this beast of a city. Before SWAT units arrive on scene, patrol officers are the first responders trying to contain and rescue as many innocent civilians as possible. Everyday violence and high mortality rates in policing in Portview City certainly leaves everlasting trauma for officers. This is no exception to SWAT. The department's psychologist, also known as the "Doc" is there to provide counselling and therapy when officers needed mental aid in their darkest hours being drowned in trauma and losses.

The corrections officers here work for the Onyx State Department Of Corrections, specifically Python Prison, one of the super maximum security prisons in the entire country. Guards are fed up with prisoners causing trouble in the prison. When a terrorist leader who was captured in the middle of the story attacked another prisoner with a shiv due to being threatened by that inmate, resulting in the death of the inmate before being shot by a corrections sniper on a watch tower. Two guards, Herman and Miller beat him to half death before a supervisor stopped them. However, no one knew it was the leader's plan to break free.

The dispatchers working in Portview City Emergency Dispatch Center are responsible for relaying information from callers to related emergency services, they are also responsible for providing instructions to callers to have callers and other innocent civilians protected. Dispatchers sometimes have to communicate with responders and provide assistance on the line. Despite being behind the monitor, the dispatcher role is stressing and not to be underestimated for its contribution in emergency response.

The 911 callers are the ones who relay information to 911 dispatchers, they might be victims of different scenarios.

Civilians are often bystanders or victims of incidents happening in this story, civilians vary in age, gender and occupation but generally they share one common thing: They are unfortunate enough to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, they are the ones who need help from the brave officers from PCPD SWAT and other emergency services.

Suspects are the main antagonists in the story, their backgrounds, age, gender and motive vary. One thing is true about them, they are all dangerous and must be stopped quickly. Some suspects might be more willing to comply, others might give officers no other choice but to take them down with lethal force.

Narrators narrate the animation to showcase the hardships officers face in the story. Tensions and emotions are high, so not everything in the story will go as predicted. The narrator's tasks are to let viewers understand the story, unsettle the viewers and most important make the story emotional with the aid of their narration and let viewers reflect on the sacrifices officers made to serve us every day.

SWAT, also known as Special Weapons And Tactics, is a police unit equipped with military hardware and special training. They are assigned to face the most violent and dangerous situations beyond a patrol officer's capabilities.
They are not heroes, they are here to act as the LAST line of defense when the situation is hopeless.
