Abel-1 is a helicopter unit for the SWAT team that provides aerial aid by transporting officers to a scene, aerial surveillance with thermal and IR imaging, pinpointing suspects' locations with the mounted spotlight and making directional callouts of suspects. The co-pilot is responsible for assisting the pilot, Sergeant John "Bull" Acostop in handling radio communications and helping John with anything he needs.
