Project Overview
This project stems from a desire to produce a truly original character with personality and substance, and to further artistic and technical understanding. The intent is to create a very high quality character add-on for the video game Rivals of Aether, published by Aether Studios (not us). However, the character will be re-used in future projects when focus shifts to those; experimentation in a variety of forms is key to discovery. Voice acting is often ignored in the publishing of these characters, so it is a must for the project in order to establish immersion and further depth of the character going forward.
My experience in directing other voiceover projects stems from CastingCall.club as well. I previously maintained the 100% Orange Juice! fan-dub project starting in 2022, which is currently on hiatus to focus on more productive endeavours. Role: Playable character, used in combat
Talent must have access to professional-quality equipment. Talent must provide crisp audio with no background noise or distortion. Editing is expected to make the audio usable in-project with minimal modifications. Full reference sheet will be provided in order to enhance production, but only to approved audition creators.
A determined courier of the Mother Tree in his home world of Aegis, Ratatoskr, a nearly 8,000-year-old half-squirrel half-demigod, is banished from his realm after a conniving impersonator of the Treekeeper willed him away. He finds himself stranded in an unwelcoming world divided by warring factions, but in spite of his prowess with wind magics, he is soon appointed by the Aetherian Forest to be their courier and letterboy, akin to his old job.
Ratatoskr puts positivity first when he can, and is quick and efficient, but can get his thoughts cluttered. As a squirrel-person, he talks fast, and may occasionally get distracted. In spite of his immense age, many view him as naive as opposed to wise - he’s really just trying to enjoy life to its fullest. Various sounds like grunts, shouts, yelps, and (rarely) screams will be needed to increase the immersion and positive feedback of combat elements.

[begin upbeat and accomplished, transition into confused and dismayed] “Yo! I just finished the postal delivery in record time today, and not one villager is unsatisfied! … Huh? What do ya mean we’re already getting wrong recipient complaints?!”
[begin slightly surprised, then a little nervous] “You want me to manage all of the messages that come outta this place? *chuckling* Wow, I never thought I’d get this far. I mean, my previous experience checks out and all, but you’re not some mind reader, Maypul! Just… highly… analytical! Yeah. Uh, that.”
[stern and menacing, but with a hint of uncertainty] “Heed my words, ya good-for-nothin’: I don’t just send people parcels all day for a living. I also book bad guys an early trip to the cemetery! S- So you better put down those gems before your choice-making time’s run out!”
