INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Puurgatory! This is the casting call for Episode 1 of our upcoming series.
Puurgatory is a pmv/animated series about a group of cats who are sent to the limbo realm, Puurgatory when they die. Our adventure follows main character, Jupiter, as he dies, and is thrust into the crazy land of the dead. He is joined by Mold, Cereal and Tea-Time at first. And will eventually make more friends along the way!
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a passion project we have decided to finally bring to life. This project relies on volunteers and a welcoming collaborative team! We will have set deadlines and will try to accommodate our cast's personal schedules, but please, if you do not have the time to commit to the project, pull out or request a less significant role. <3
This position is unpaid, however, if in the future we are able to set up a successful Patreon, funds will be distributed between the team!
RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR AUDITIONING
☆ These auditions will close on Nov 8th, 2021. With a possible extension of Nov 30th, 2021.
☆ You MUST have discord in order to enter.
☆ You must be at least 16 years old to audition. NO EXCEPTIONS.
☆ You may audition for (and even be cast in) multiple roles.
☆ We are looking for clear and quality audio. No fans, chatter, or other background noise, please!
☆ This is a fan project and therefore will work at a different pace than traditional production. Many of the characters will feature in multiple episodes. Please ensure you are properly committed to the role and project.
☆ We will need a lot more voice actors later, so please don't feel discouraged if you are not picked! This is just for the first episode!
Jupiter is a nervous, stuck-up, rude cat. He believes he is the best thing since sliced bread and refuses to believe that he is meant to be dead. Jupiter is caring and heroic deep down, but extremely judgemental of others. He cares deeply about his friends and would do anything to help them, even if he never admits it.
(Caring) "You're a good friend. I'm glad I got to meet you."
(Joke) "For a dead guy? Yeah, I'm great."
(Sad) "I'm never going home...am I?"
(Angry/Anguish) "You're a monster! A beast! And I'll never forgive you!"
(Interpretation) "You guys are treating me like I'm the main character or something."
Cereal is dark and brooding. He is struggling with a great loss that he won't share with his friends. He can feel his mind fading and feels pulled towards darkness. He is loving and romantic but struggles to express his emotions properly.
(Sweetly) "Have I seen you around before? Or was that just in my dreams?"
(Solemn) "It may not have been me, but I feel the wound as if it was my own..."
(Angry) "Let me go! I don't want to be a part of this anymore!"
(Disbelief) "After all of this? You still want to be my friend?"
(Interpretation) "You could have let me go with her, instead you kept me down here."
Mold is a soldier at heart. She is stern, serious and intimidating with a frightening face to match. She suffered a lot before she died which hardened her into the cat she is today. Despite this, Mold is not cruel. Only quiet. She is friendly and sympathetic to those around her, in her own special way.
(Happy) "Chin up soldier. If it was up to me, I'd give you a medal of honour."
(Sad) "He was the only cat that didn't flinch at the sight of me, I miss him every day."
(Angry) "I'll never get over it! Don't you get it? I'll die every day without her!"
(Joke) "Be glad we aren't double dead yet."
(Interpretation) "I'd rather deal with pit fiends than see a single human again."
Tea Time is a sweet, energetic she-cat. She is excitable and friendly, always looking for the good in others. Don't take her for a pushover, she's got a kick in her step and the sass to go with it. Tea Time is like a big sister, she's a great listener and always willing to take care of others.
*Note: Tea Time should preferably have a posh British accent
(Happy) "If this is a dream, I hope I don't wake up any time soon"
(Sadly) "We better find your special someone...before...it's too late."
(Angry) "We all just stood there! I just stood there! And now he's gone!"
(Joke) "Porcelain isn't made to move like this!"
(Interpretation) "She was always very sweet to me, my human. My death wasn't her fault, it was all an accident. I know she must blame herself."
Eris is a Goddess commanding respect, she holds her head up high and has an air of nobility. She is beautiful and regal. Eris has a cruel sense of humour and is very sarcastic.
(Pleased) "Good morning Celene, your day is a bright as ever."
(Sad) "I miss them too."
(Angry) "How dare you! You wretched creature! I will crush you like the maggot you are!"
(Sarcastic) "Oh? Do you think so?"
(Interpretation) "Hello. Welcome to the Crossroads, Jupiter."
Pinata is a sufer-bro type. Super friendly and excitable. However, bad things will happen to him, in which he is in great agony.
*Note: we really wanna feel the pain in his voice!
(happy) "Woah! You guy's headed to the sun's ceremony?"
(screams in agony) [really go for it!!] "Please! Don’t leave me! Y-you can’t leave me! Ple...a...s..e…"
(joke) "Cowabummer"
