Project Tyr - Casting Call C
Project Overview
Hey everyone! This casting call is for 2 more playable pilots in the upcoming strategic tank shooter, "Tyr".
Tyr is the debut project from Stoke Games, a team founded in 2023 and featuring an array of talented folks who have worked on games such as League of Legends, Valorant, Disney Infinity, Starcraft 2, MultiVersus, Hogwarts Legacy, Destiny, Call of Duty, and more. Voiceover for Tyr is being handled by the award-winning team at Power Up Audio (Darkest Dungeon, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, Tunic, Celeste, Into the Breach, et al.).
Notes:
- This is a non-union project.
- All roles are in English.
- Submissions are online only.
- We expect each role to require 2 hours of recording time, maybe 3 (and with potential follow-up sessions down the line), and we're paying at least $250USD/hr; negotiable with prior experience. (Note 1: This is increased from the previous calls for this project, which were posted at $250CAD/hr - but for clarity, ALL performers cast thus far are to be paid at least $250USD/hr.)
- Recording and direction will be done over Discord - as such, your submission should reflect the audio quality you are able to achieve in your recording space.
- All performers will be listed in the game's main credits.
- We will not use recordings for AI voice cloning, synthetic reproduction, or machine learning. We may only consider such use with separate and explicit written permission from the performer, and new compensation agreed upon by both parties.
- We will be waiting until the deadline to cast. You have until the deadline to submit auditions, but we will not be considering auditions submitted thereafter.
- After the deadline, and once this role is cast, we will be looking to record ASAP. (February/March likely.)
Game Brief:
TYR is a strategic multiplayer vehicle shooter. Players choose from an eclectic roster of pilots and their powerful vehicles (mainly tank-like) in 8v8 matches that prioritize teamwork and strategy over twitch reflexes.
Game Tone:
TYR takes place in a sci-fi world, but one that is tactile, grounded, and heavily engineered. Our characters are explorers, soldiers, and scientists - some are on Tyr to conquer, others to discover, but all of them take what they’re doing quite seriously. Though some of the characters might be a bit more “jokey” or “quippy,” each of them is in the cockpit of a massive war machine and acts accordingly. Their performances should feel connected to the idea that they are operating the controls of their machines and communicating with themselves and their teammates via radio comms, rather than speaking directly to the player.

- Please package auditions as a single audio file of a single read through the character’s lines. (Of course, feel free to edit this audition together as a showcase of your best single line reads.)

Name: S’en Gravelback (Rough Translation)
Age: 473 Earth Cycles
Birthplace: Volcanic Formation 7RM, on Jupiter's moon "Io"
Tank: “SENTINEL”
Ability: Smokescreen
Faction: Rebels
Character Summary:
A warrior from a reclusive race of lizard-like creatures on Jupiter’s volcanic moon of Io, S’en’s people were pushed into hiding by humanity’s war. He’s through hiding from humans, and desires the power of Tyr to help his people escape to a new home as far away as possible.
S’en is a soldier and explorer with an innate knack for understanding machines. His people have watched humanity’s war from the sidelines for decades and, even though he always swore he’d never get dragged into it, here he is... He gets cranky when people try to get him to open up, but after decades exploring space alone he actually doesn’t hate being on a team as much as he pretends.
(S'en is one character within a whole cast of playable pilots.)
Performance Notes:
S’en is gruff, cranky, and sarcastic. He’s learned to speak human languages to exist among them but it’s not natural for him, so his voice should have some gravel and grit to it.
Accent can lean New York.

Birthplace: New Trondheim, Antartica
Tank: “BJORN”
Ability: Mine-Laying
Faction: The Umber Fist
Character Summary:
With a lineage tracing back to the ancient Vikings, Yrsa is a warrior and wayfinder who believes it is her foretold destiny to find and claim the power of Tyr. Launched deep into space in a cryogenic pod, she was recovered by the Umber Fist with whom she has formed a temporary alliance.
(Yrsa is one character within a whole cast of playable pilots.)
Performance Notes:
Yrsa is strong-willed with nerves of steel and, as one of the older members of the cast (in her 50s) she has a stone-cold confidence on the battlefield born from decades of experience. She suffers no fools, but down the road she could become a grumpy, reluctant mentor to some of the younger characters.
