About MJ Guenther

Hi there! I’m MJ Guenther — a queer, disabled, Lebanese-American voice actor and podcast producer with an operatic background, a deep love for storytelling, and way too many D20s.

I hold an MFA and MM in Voice Performance, and I started my career performing opera on stages from Pittsburgh to France. But my love for storytelling — especially the kind that involves dragons, dialogue trees, and dramatic monologues — led me to the wild, wonderful world of voice acting. Since then, I’ve voiced everything from battle-ready blacksmiths to wicked witches, to wizened high priestesses of otherworldly realms.

I bring a performer’s instinct, a musician’s ear, and a storyteller’s heart to every role — whether I’m voicing an emotionally grounded protagonist or a gleefully unhinged monster. I am a chaos goblin, after all. I thrive on connection, collaboration, and creating characters that feel alive.

When I’m not in the booth, you’ll find me playing in epic D&D campaigns, yelling at video games, hyper focused on one of my bazillion crafts, or cuddling on the couch with my husband and our two cats (who definitely think they run the studio)!

What MJ Guenther is looking for

I am a passionate and versatile storyteller with a masters degree in voice performance/opera and a lifelong love of languages. I studied French, German, Italian languages and diction classes in college and grad school (3 total semesters of separate language and diction classes each), and I'm independently studying Swedish. I've also performed in Latin, Hebrew, Spanish, Czech, Russian, and Church Slavonic, I love playing characters that deliver strong emotions to the listener, whether it's joy, sorrow, or laughter. I have a weak spot for villains, feisty heroines, and challenging relationship dynamics, but I also adore larger than life comedic characters. For me, character exploration is some of the most rewarding aspects of my work, and I love discovering all the likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, faults, and joys that bring a character to life.

Storytelling is the most important aspect for me. My degrees are in opera/classical music, but my love of performance and storytelling began in theater and musicals, and I love the freedom acting and voice acting give me in terms of character voices and physicality. I also prefer variety in any vocal music I perform. In addition to classical music, I'm a rock/metal vocalist, a musical theater singer, and I also do pop, jazz, and standards. My dream job would be combining my voice acting work and music skills for an RPG.

Incredibly talented, professional, and easy to work with. Added so much energy and color to the character. Did different version of the lines, adding unique notes to the character. Highly recommend working with MJ.
