Project Overview
THIS CASTING PAGE IS FOR ALL CHARACTERS NOT INITIALLY CAST DURING THE FIRST CALL. THIS IS ALSO CHAPTER ONE EXCLUSIVE. IF YOU HAVE A CHARACTER YOU WISH TO AUDITION FOR WHO REPRISES THEIR ROLE IN CHAPTER TWO AND YOU WISH TO USE THEIR NEW LINES, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME.
Hello! I'm very glad you've stumbled upon this page, welcome to Project: deltarune! A voice acting project that aims to dub the entirety of "deltarune," the spiritual sequel to "UNDERTALE" by Toby Fox!
Now, a very small few of you may be thinking that the "Project: ___" format for a Toby Fox game seems pretty familiar, or most of you've not touched that fandom in quite some time. Well, that's because this project is going to also be a spiritual sequel, one for a 5k+ fanbase-followed voice dub named Project: UNDERTALE that sadly never got past it's fourth episode due to scheduling issues, cast drama, and a general distaste for the fact it began feeling like a job everyone was forced to do. We also were not able to revive the project from it's initial hiatus due to one of my Co-Directors, Chris Taylor(SpookyWoobler) passing away. This project's sequel will be dedicated to him, however.
This project will be one of passion and will have more lax upload times, and more focus on quality rather than quantity or speed. Most if not all cast and crew will be adults with part or full-time jobs outside of home, so tight schedules may not work the best for our little passion project. The project will also not have an initial budget, though there are plans in the future to compensate cast and crew for their time. I sadly cannot promise this, though. I will, however, give you as much ability to promote your own personal work, projects, and tip jars as you please! Chris initially never desired the project to be funded, which I will respect in myself by donating whatever revenue I personally get a cut of to Osteosarcoma research in Chris's honor. For some ground rules for auditioning!:
1. Have an external mic of decent quality, or the ability to sound like you do. If I have to make EXTREME edits to your lines to make you sound higher in quality, I will probably not consider you. Minor edits such as noise cancellation are perfectly fine, however.
2. Multiple takes of the lines are not required, but are preferred so I can see your personal take on the character's line and my slight direction! Have fun, too! Give me the good, the bad, and the funny of your lines. This is a passion project, so fun is a big part of it as well.

4. If you want to edit/add voice effects, feel free! If your audition isn't accepted, but your audio editing skills are amazing, you may be asked to join as an audio mixer.
5. If you're not the age or gender of the character you want to audition for, don't worry, you're still allowed to voice them! I will most likely gravitate to people who identify with similar genders/sexualities to the characters they're portraying, but it won't be a deal-breaker here! The only times where I will be more strict will be stated in their specific role descriptions.
6. The script itself that I give is a ROUGH guideline! I'd prefer the lines be included, but if you want to replace certain lines with other ones you feel will fit better, or will help show me what you can do, please, do it! It'll be a breath of fresh air in the auditions, and it'll keep me on my toes, so to speak!
7. If you audition for an NPC, that does not discount you from being able to play a bigger role in this chapter, much less a more major role in Chapter Two! Show off as much of your ability as you can, I encourage it!

A soft, caring voice would suit this character best. A single mother of two and a school teacher to boot, Toriel is a monster you wouldn't want to get on the bad side of.
Vocal inspirations could include Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond from Steven Universe, or general deep-ranged mother characters and figures in cartoons and real life television.
[hurried, though still in a level and somewhat regal/professional tone] Kris, if you do not wake up, we will be late for school!
[relieved to find her child trudging through the front door] Kris! There you are! We might still be able to make it!
[try to make her sound like she's somewhat distracted as she's driving during this dialogue!] Kris, it is a beautiful day, is it not? I hope it stays this way when Asriel visits next week. But I wonder... After the excitement of university... Will he still enjoy coming home to this little town...?
Your local nerdy lesbian lizard is back in a new light, now single again, teaching secondary school, and into sequels instead of originals. She's still just as awkward as her UT counterpart, but now with a little splash of authority now that she works with kids who kind of have to listen to her, instead of in a lab alone almost always. She barely speaks in her only real encounter with Kris before they're plunged into the Dark World, so all of her lines will most likely be from that interaction, and you're free to add any other lines you want from the end of the chapter! :0
Vocal inspiration can come from classic nerdy girl types with big glasses and nasally voices and shy personalities, as well as other popular Alphys VA's!
[Start this as if she was saying something else, maybe even ad lib some tangent about the project she's talking about! The ad lib is completely optional, though] So does everyone have a... [a slight cut off as the door opens, revealing Kris to the unsuspecting teacher] Oh... K-Kris...! We thought you weren't coming today! We're doing group projects this month! [a very small awkward pause] Uhhhh... so, walk around and find a partner, ok?
[distracted for a moment, before being jolted into conversation with Kris interacting with her] What? Wh-What am I watching on my phone? It's schoolwork, of course. [a pause before sheepishly trying to find an excuse] A... animated schoolwork... and... [sudden tone change to try and awkwardly cover up what she was doing] H-Hey, Kris, have you chosen a partner yet?
[trying to come down from possibly a mild panic attack from the sudden appearance of Susie, finally getting the class in some level of order with the late-comers] N-Now that everyone's here, I'll write the assignment! [a pause as she walks over to the chalkboard to find no chalk nearby, her tone nervous and possibly slightly pleading with her class as she speaks more] Uh... H-Has anyone seen the chalk? This is the third time it's gone missing and... Y-You all know I can't start class without some! [a pause as no one speaks up and she tries to mask her anxiousness, though her voice is still shaking] H-How about this? If no one speaks up... E-Everyone gets in trouble! [a pause once again] A... Anyone? P.... Please? [a pause as Noelle speaks] G-Good idea, Noelle! Susie, s-since you came in last... [her tone shifts slightly to a more polite one, her voice probably softening] Why don't you go get it for me...? [a pause as Susie speaks and then slams the door on her way out] And K... Kris... Can you go with her to make sure she... Um, actually gets it? And, um, stays out of trouble...? [a pause for Kris's response, and her tone gets a little more level and happy] Thanks, Kris! See you later!
The three-headed wonder, Clover! A mini-boss with three different heads, meaning three different voices! If you only want to voice one head, use two or three different lines from the same head in all three lines, instead of one head per line like I have it set up!
They all will most likely have similar voices, but the best voice inspiration I have for each is that the first/left head will have a very normal sounding voice, possibly akin to most girl-next-door characters. The second/middle head will most likely have a very gruff and angry voice, sounding like typical punk girls and tomboys. The third/right head is the shyest of all, with a very soft and sweet voice much like a very stereotypical nerdy girl trope character. The only one I have a definitive character inspiration for is the third head, who would most likely sound like Fluttershy from My Little Pony: FiM.
[First head:] Please try the baseballs~!
[Second head:] Yeah! Eat so many you CHOKE!
[Third head:] ... Do they eat sports?
The Lesser Dad to Lancer and Duke of Puzzles, it's Rouxls Kaard! He's a very eccentric kinda guy straight out of a Monty Python flick. He's a mini-boss and shopkeep, but to keep this cast page from looking super barren, he and Clover are here as well even if they're super minor.
His voice inspiration can be any Monty Python movie, and most notably CoffinJockey's(one of my prior cast members) Papyrus voice comes to mind as a good fit, which he's told me before is a Stampy impression!
[a smooth, maybe threatening stereotypical villain tone with a far-off echo/feel] So the worms have decided to crawl out and play... [a small pause] Geh ha ha ha ha! Thoust FOOLS! [he materializes in front of the protagonists] I am Rouxls Kaard, thou're greatest adversary!
[a stereotypical anime shocked noise is made, and then his tone becomes agitated with a mix of trying to cover it with a big smile] GOD. DAMN IT.
[smooth tone once more, but less villainy and more sickly-sweet frienemy kinda vibes] Welcome to my shop, you ungrateful worms.
The king of all kings, and the shittiest of dads, it's the final boss, the Spade King! He's a very deep-voiced, shallow-hearted, and intimidating sounding man, who's main method of running things is imprisonment and murder, so please emulate his base personality in your voice acting.
Voice inspiration could come from any stereotypical king villains, and(this is out of left field probably) Pete from Disney Cartoons!
[a calm, level voice] Lancer, my son. Have you dispatched the Lightners, as I commanded? [a pause, then a slam of a foot and an angered tone] They're ALIVE? [another pause, his voice more loud and angry] WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
[lowered and threatening] Ha ha ha ha... [his voice raises once more] You want me to LET HIM GO!? Then how about this...? I'll drop him off the ledge and let him splatter... Unless you all KNEEL and learn your place! What will it be, Lightners!?
[preparing himself for a fight] Heheh... Heheheheh... To my people, I am a hero... ...to you? [he lifts up his weapon, raising his voice to a cocky tone] I'M THE BAD GUY!!! [he then laughs]
This description will be a longer one so get ready. These are a basic run down of the REM's in the Dark World. There will be a lot cast for this role specifically, so only one of you will be officially cast, but the rest will be contacted either in the comments section or otherwise being told to join the Discord server for the project! You may use voice lines from as many REM's as you please, but keep in mind you'll probably contribute for only the few I think your voice fits with. This is a low-effort role, so multiple people can be cast for multiple roles in this section and maybe even other smaller roles. Heck, I may not even cast everyone I need in one go, I may ask other members of cast and crew to chip in along the way depending on how many random encounters we really get.
The audition lines will be for Rudinn, Bloxer, and Rabbick. Ruddin can probably sound like almost anything or anyone, but I know my desired tone for Bloxer is one of possibly a fighter, very gruff and angry before rearranged, and very pleased and less gruff when properly arranged, while Rabbick will have a more nasally voice when dirty, and a soft and content voice for when clean. You can audition for other REM's, but I would appreciate if you verbally stated before the different encounter monsters which one you'll be saying lines for. I'd prefer a line when they fight, and a line for when the spare conditions have been met.
Rudinn: [snarky] Long live the guys who pay us! [after being convinced to not fight] Yeah I guess that makes sense.
Bloxer: [a very cocky fighter, preparing an attack] Let me show you my training! YIHA!! [after being rearranged] Oh you mixed me up all nice~
Rabbick: [nasally voice] Bunnies are the sequel to frogs. [softer voice] A nice and tidy girl.(if feminine VA) A soft and clean boy.(if masculine VA)
One of the only shopkeepers in the Dark World, they resemble an old plush toy long forgotten. They're very reluctant to hope, being much to old for it, and has quite the past they'd rather not think about. Oh, and their name's pronounced like 'Shawn' with an m, hope you don't forget that.
For their voice, I have an extremely peculiar request purely based off of one interpretation of him which I adore and will stand by as the fanon interpretation. Their music brings a sense of mystic nostalgia, a time of old where talking stuffed animals in VHS tapes were common and beloved, and they'd probably sound similarly and just as nostalgia-invoking. They'd probably sound like an old puppet character sitting down to tell children a story, with a hearty laugh and an old speaker where their voice came out. Thinking of narrator voices from old children's films back in the 70's and 80's is a very good jumping off point. It's kind of effects-heavy due to the "degrading speaker" feel, so the speaker effect isn't required, but it is something that I would definitely love to see in action.
(NOTE: While Seam is canonically nonbinary or at least goes by they/them pronouns, I would prefer their voice to be done by an AMAB individual or someone with a lower, more "masculine" range, especially as AMAB nonbinary individuals are very rarely seen/heard in media !! If you're not an AMAB nonbinary person then you're free to audition regardless, though there is definitely at least a range preference, at least.)
[a hearty, welcoming tone] Hee hee... Welcome, travellers. Take your time... Ain't like it's better spent. The name's Seam. Pronounced "Shawm." And this is my little Seap. Ha ha ha ha...
[possibly some kind of storytelling voice like most people put on for small children] Long ago, the Darkners lived in harmony with the Lightners. They were like Gods to us. Our protectors. Our creators. Those who gave us purpose... Then, one day we were all locked in this prison... And the Lightners never returned. Embittered, the King took up arms, and aims to take revenge on the Lightners that left us behind. 'Course, even among his troops, some still distantly hope the Lightners will return...
[an amused tone, possibly skeptical as well] Ha ha ha... So you are the "heroes" who are going to seal our Fountain? Ha, good luck. It makes no difference to me. [he gains a sad tone to his words] Neither Light nor Dark hold a future for a Darkner in my condition.
Multiple roles will be cast for this, and you can use/say more lines than what are provided! As there are three areas, one line will be for an NPC from each area: The Field, the Forest, and the Great Board. Not all of them have to sound certain ways, but I would definitely prefer for the Field NPCs to sound the most diverse and different from one another, the Forest NPCs to sound very enchanting and the most nostalgia-inducing(inspire voices off of old children's movies from VHS tapes.), and the Great Board NPCs to sound like celebrities and famous people! Kind of like an area-wide dialect.
Field NPC, Topchef: [a distraught tone with probably an exaggerated Italian accent] Mama miba! I'm Topchef! My latest cake worked me to exhaustion! So I took a little nap... But, Mama miba! A scary noise woke me up! A beast was hunched on the table, eating the cake like an animal! I spritzed it with water, and it hissed and ran off! But, my wonderful cake is... [you can possibly improv him breaking into a full-on sob over his creation's destruction]
Great Board NPC, Mr. Elegance: [one of the few Great Board NPC's with a non-posh accent, instead a very chill and easy-going American one, possibly with a drawl even] Woah there, horsie. Ponmen're scary, but all'n they're doin' is following the King. Us on the Board used to have our own boss... those'n were peaceful times. But now, even the boss's been reduced to the King's peon.
Forest NPC, Royal Coat Rack: [with a happy go lucky voice, probably a little dopey sounding] You folks look like heroes! Take the scarf from this chest and defeat the king!
Our reality-bending, game loving, imprisoned imprisoner, it's Jevil! The Darkner alleged to have contact with a man who spoke of the world being a game, and went mad because of it. He's already got canon voice lines, technically, but not all his lines are voiced, so he's getting a VA!
For his voice inspiration, I 100% stand by trying to make as close of an impression of the original Jevil voice acting. Effects aren't required, but they will help me see how everything will sound with all the effects on it, and judge better on if you'll be the best fit! The closer you are the better!

[an exaggerated grieving tone] Boo hoo, boo hoo, uee hee hee. So lonely, lonely, I be... But lo, three visitors standing inside? Who are you few? [a pause to let Ralsei speak] I am innocent, innocent. I just wanted to play a game, game. But the BORING kings found such fun to be a trouble. As punishment, they craved to imprison my body. But I'm fast, fast, clever, clever. They lost the chase and locked up their entire race, building a PRISON around the whole world. Now I'M the only free one.
[a low, building excitement, possibly in a whisper] Uee hee hee, the key, the key. A marvelous fun is about to break free. Won't you let yourself outside? [a pause, then a more excited tone] Uee hee! Visitors, VISITORS! Now we can play, PLAY! Then, after you, I can play with everyone else, too!
This is a free line, say any and all in-battle lines you want! My only requirement is you say his 'metamorphosis' line, as that has a very weird tone to it, as well as two other voice lines of his. There's quite a few, so feel free to have fun with this! He's a fun character.

The only characters who you CANNOT try out for with this role and have their own casting pages are: Toriel, Alphys, Rudolph Holiday, Noelle Holiday, and Asgore. Everyone else that pops up in this video(including Gerson's one "spoken line" which is a quote from his memorial bench) is free game to be auditioned for using this role! Just be sure to say in the audio clip itself what characters you'll be auditioning for, and which is which. The three lines here will be from two adults and one classmate of Kris. Plans for how I personally would prefer their voice to sound is in the line they have!
(Also, Yes, this means Auditions for Undyne and Sans will run through this role as well. You'll all be contacted either on the Discord server or in the comments of your audition as to which NPC you got specifically of the ones you auditioned for, or maybe even an NPC I feel your voice would fit much more with, since I'll be hearing your natural voice, and the voice of the characters you intend to audition with! Another note for Sans VAs who wish to join, there will be NO "i fucked Toriel/your mom" jokes. Soriel makes me extremely uncomfortable and I would like to be respected by having those jokes/topics be avoided.)
Classmate, Jockington: [he most likely has a very stereotypical jock or dude-bro kind of voice. probably most likely to say 'sah dude' or 'no homo bro' in some regard, either ironically or not] Kris! What'sup? Catti's working, so I'm starting, on our Project! I've already, copied a bunch of pictures.
Adult, Lion Waitress: [This character can be voiced by ANY female, though due to personal interpretations I'd prefer her to be played by a trans woman. This is the only one I would prefer be played by female/femme aligned people.] [in a light, slightly distracted tone, as if reading off the orders] So, for you two girls, that'll be the crepes, a cinnamon latte... Two bunny parfaits, and... [her tone gets a little confused] a piece of firewood...?
Adult, Sans: [This character has a TON of interpretations. Go for literally any of them and you'll be fine. If you'd like to give a variety, go for it. Spice it up, but still make it make sense for Sans.] [a very relaxed voice] hey, look who's walkin' around. how are ya, kid? [a pause for Kris's answer of "Great to see you again"] yeah, it's real nice, isn't it? especially considering i've never met you before. [you can ad lib a chuckle or laugh in here if you want!] the name's sans. sans the skeleton. i'm new in town. what's up?
The child of Mayor and Mr. Holiday, Noelle! She's a timid little soul with a big heart and an even bigger crush on our local lizard lady. Her personality is very accurate to what her father describes her as, calling her sweet, smart, kind, and quite the scaredy-deer.
Her voice is most likely a very typical girl-next-door kind of vibe, very soft and sweet.
(To the VA for Noelle, please know that you will be playing a sapphic/WLW character. I would prefer the voice actor to be a sapphic woman or transfemme. If you are uncomfortable with the character being sapphic/LGBTQ+, then this may not be the right role, project, or even game for you to be playing.)
[Soft, slightly taken off guard] Oh, hi, Kris! Did you need help with your homework again? I know you were having trouble last time so, um, I actually got a few things ready for you in case-- [cuts herself off upon realization of her own timing, sounding apologetic yet rushed] Ah, wait, sorry! I can't right now... I forgot my house key again, and... Sorry, Kris, I'll help you later, if that's ok. See you at school, Kris! [a pause as Kris doesn't leave, then she gains a slight awkwardness to her voice] Um, Kris? Did you... want to talk about something?
[possibly gets a slightly flustered giggle] Susie! That's right, you were with Susie! When you didn't come back to class I was worried, but... Everything turned out OK! I think? [a slight pause, possibly getting more embarrassed] ... Umm, Kris? Can I ask something, if that's OK? Susie... I'm kind of... curious what she's like, y'know? I mean, who DOESN'T wonder about her? She never talks to anyone. So, Kris, could you tell me about her? If that's ok... [pauses for Kris's answer, them telling her that Susie's nice, and her tone becoming more flustered and embarrassed] What...? She's... a nice person? Really!? L-Like, really!? Honestly!? Truly!? I mean, that's just what I was hoping, but... W-Wait, this isn't another trick, is it, Kris? Like when you put ketchup on your arms and told me it was blood? [a pause for Kris's response] ... R-Really? You're serious? You're totally serious? ...Gosh, then maybe I should try talking to her... [flustered joking tone] B-but if I die, you're paying for my funeral, Kris!
[possibly an embarrassed tone] ... huh? Why don't I ask my mom for the key? I... I mean, um... I... you know, She doesn't like it when I bother her when she's working. Don't worry, OK? I'll just go over to Catti's.
Loving father and caring friend, Rudolph Holiday is a close buddy of the Dreemurr family, possibly to the point of being an uncle like figure to Kris and Asriel. He's known the kids since they were small, and jokes with Kris about how they used to be a practical stranger to the family before warming up enough to visit on their own. He's a big ol' sweetheart, caring endlessly for his daughter and friends.
His voice inspiration can be anything in the mid-low male range, possibly with a very slight New England or Midwestern accent.
[Hearty tone, having just had a conversation with his daughter] Well jingle my goshdarn bells! Looks like Krismas came early! [a slight chuckle before a small sigh] Alright, Kris. Just gimme the straight shot. [a slightly lighter tone, trying to joke around] Why you here? Did your mom make you come here? [a pause, humming] Really? You've grown up a lot, Kris. I'm proud of you. Wasn't too long ago you were just the creepy kid next door. Now you're the creepy kid right in front of me! Hahahaha!!!
[being asked about his daughter, his tone gets a lot softer and happier] She's a sweetheart, isn't she, Kris? Smart, kind, sweet... couldn't ask for a better daughter. I just wish she wasn't so... [his voice grows a bit sadder] defenseless. Scary movies, bugs, Santa Claus... Everything scares her. And when it happens, she freezes like a deer in headlights.
[His tone falls even moreso, getting more dejected] ...So, why am I in here...? Well, they found some crap, so it's just some tests. Yeah, it's no big deal. Nothing a Holiday can't handle. I'll be outta here in a jiff, then I can go back to, I dunno... [chuckles] Yelling at you for getting tangled in our light display.
The failed father figure of the bunch, Asgore Dreemurr! Only the most quality of goat fathers for our games. He's a jolly single father who's big heart means he's not the best citizen, owing rent for months and sleeping on an air mattress in a backroom because he's too kind with his flower-based freebies. He's trying his best, though, he promises.
Voice inspiration for him will be the dedication for the entire project, Chris Taylor. He's a very deep-voiced, warm hearted man, and his voice actor was quite the same(other than the voice that is, his voice was naturally more light and high compared to his Asgore voice). I'll forever be thankful of the time Chris dedicated to the original project when it was around way back when. He was an important part of it, no matter how little he appeared in actual episodes. He was my old co-director, after all. (PS: Don't mind the old art in the bloopers video, it's 100% my old art and yes, I'm extremely embarrassed by how bad it looks for something I tried to purposefully MAKE look bad and shitposty.)
If you cannot follow that voice inspiration, please, do your own take on it, but do keep in mind Asgore is most definitely in the bass and baritone range for his voice. He's a regal man, no matter how much of a hobo he really is in this game.
[absentmindedly humming to himself] Dum dee dum... Oh? Is someone there? Just a moment! I have almost finished watering these flowers. [a pause] ... Here we are! [he turns around and starts speaking before noticing who's there] Howdy! How can I... [finally notices it's his kid, gains a happier and more fatherly tone] ...Oh! Kris! [he walks over to them and pulls them in a big ol' goat hug. maybe ad lib some noise for this, along with a slight shocked 'oh!' before quickly setting them down] ...Oh. I'm sorry. I forgot if you don't like hugs like that. [he clears his throat and walks back to his flowers] Well now, make yourself at home, Kris. You can help yourself to anything you like.
[perhaps a considering kind of tone] Say, Kris... I was thinking. Perhaps when Asriel comes home... We could all go to the diner, just like old times... [his voice becomes a lot kinder, possibly with a chuckle following the next sentence] My treat. Doesn't that sound yummy? Then we could all have a nice drive around town. I might need to clean out my truck, but... [he hums slightly to himself]

Your job will primarily be split with yourself, another mixer, and myself where ever I can supply it. You will each have your own primary video type you will be working with(Mainline episodes Vs. Supplementary content), and you will help quality check my work, add on effects I miss, and make sure everything sounds succinct and well blended together.
Software minimums: You must have at the very least Audacity, which is a free audio editing program that most professionals and non-professionals use, especially if they're broke and can't afford much else. It'd be helpful to say what program you use to edit regularly, though I will say the Jevil voice effect tutorial I've found is only specific to Audacity, so if you're able to figure it out on other programs, great!

Your job is an important one, and a tasking one, so I'm splitting this up into two different video editors: Main content, and side content, similar to the mixers. But! I will say your job is a little more intensive so I will try my best to help any way I possibly can. If you got questions, I'll try to answer. If you got suggestions as to how certain things can be done/recorded, I'll gladly take 'em. Your job's basically gonna just be taking the recorded game footage, comic slides, or still art, combining it with the edited audio located in the google drive folder, add sound effects, and then add the music back in as the original audio has soundbytes from the original dialog boxes infront of it, before uploading it to a completed videos folder for me to review and then upload if there's no complaints.. This doesn't seem like much, but it's a pretty intensive thing you gotta do, which is why I'm lookin for two of you guys to help lighten the work load best I can.
Software Minimum: I don't care if the product is free or paid for, I only have three requirements. 1. Have a timeline feature with multiple layers for sound and video/images. 2. Be able to export mp4 files at a minimum of 720p, if not 1080p. 3. No watermark from the program should be present in the final product at all. No exceptions. The typical editing software I see is Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas, so either would be perfectly alright and I would rather see those, but should you not use them, that's alright! So long as you follow the three requirements, I don't mind too much what you use. Also, please specify what program you typically use to edit in the comments of your audition! I'd love to know! I myself use Sony Vegas Pro 13.0, so if you have that program especially it will be all the better for sending files over instead of rendering the video on every pass.
