Project: deltarune RECAST (CHAPTER ONE)
JG for Asgore
The failed father figure of the bunch, Asgore Dreemurr! Only the most quality of goat fathers for our games. He's a jolly single father who's big heart means he's not the best citizen, owing rent for months and sleeping on an air mattress in a backroom because he's too kind with his flower-based freebies. He's trying his best, though, he promises.
Voice inspiration for him will be the dedication for the entire project, Chris Taylor. He's a very deep-voiced, warm hearted man, and his voice actor was quite the same(other than the voice that is, his voice was naturally more light and high compared to his Asgore voice). I'll forever be thankful of the time Chris dedicated to the original project when it was around way back when. He was an important part of it, no matter how little he appeared in actual episodes. He was my old co-director, after all. (PS: Don't mind the old art in the bloopers video, it's 100% my old art and yes, I'm extremely embarrassed by how bad it looks for something I tried to purposefully MAKE look bad and shitposty.)
If you cannot follow that voice inspiration, please, do your own take on it, but do keep in mind Asgore is most definitely in the bass and baritone range for his voice. He's a regal man, no matter how much of a hobo he really is in this game.
[absentmindedly humming to himself] Dum dee dum... Oh? Is someone there? Just a moment! I have almost finished watering these flowers. [a pause] ... Here we are! [he turns around and starts speaking before noticing who's there] Howdy! How can I... [finally notices it's his kid, gains a happier and more fatherly tone] ...Oh! Kris! [he walks over to them and pulls them in a big ol' goat hug. maybe ad lib some noise for this, along with a slight shocked 'oh!' before quickly setting them down] ...Oh. I'm sorry. I forgot if you don't like hugs like that. [he clears his throat and walks back to his flowers] Well now, make yourself at home, Kris. You can help yourself to anything you like.
[perhaps a considering kind of tone] Say, Kris... I was thinking. Perhaps when Asriel comes home... We could all go to the diner, just like old times... [his voice becomes a lot kinder, possibly with a chuckle following the next sentence] My treat. Doesn't that sound yummy? Then we could all have a nice drive around town. I might need to clean out my truck, but... [he hums slightly to himself]
[notices Kris about to leave] Oh, Kris. Before you go... [He walks up to Kris, giving him a bouquet and gaining a partly pleading, but mostly kind tone.] Here. For your mother... Our secret. [He walks back to his flowers and his voice returns to a more pure kindness and care] Have a great day, Kris.
