Pripyat Enigma
Project Overview
The Pripyat Enigma is a slow-burn psychological horror audio drama set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The series follows Dr. Lena Volkov, an environmental biologist studying the long-term habitability of Pripyat decades after the disaster.
Through field recordings, audio logs, and recovered tapes, Lena documents a landscape that appears calm, reclaimed by nature, and scientifically fascinating. However, as her recordings progress, subtle anomalies emerge: echoes that arrive too early, voices that repeat her words, and silences that feel observed.
What begins as a scientific study gradually becomes an intimate psychological descent, as Lena suspects she is being stalked by an unobservable entity; one that may only exist through sound, recording, and observation itself. The series intentionally avoids clear answers, allowing the horror to emerge through atmosphere, performance, and sound design rather than jump scares or explicit violence.
This project is heavily inspired by works such as The Magnus Archives, Annihilation, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., with a strong focus on unreliable narration, isolation, and existential unease.
