Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Voiced!

Project Overview

This is a Fan dub of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky! This idea spawned by the voice actors from the cancelled "Eternal Skies" 3D animation. We all love PMD, and we still plan to voice the characters from the original game! This time, we will voice-over the game and synchronize the timing, and there might even besome never-before-seen content as well!

This passion project is fanmade, and we do not own anything other than our voices and the possible bonus scenes. We will not earn money from this other than donations (which we don't expect to get any). All Pokemon and assets from the game are the property of the Pokemon Company and Spike Chunsoft.

This project is directed and organized by Miles McDonald with help from others.

    Goodness gracious! The call has ended, and we’re currently reaching out to those who we’ve been impressed with, to offer them their new roles! Make sure you check your discord and casting call club notifications to see if you got one! :D

    We will be doing most of the work through discord, so if you get a friend request from either Miles (the Director) or Rambanlee (the Assistant Director), then make sure to accept it! Otherwise we won’t be able to get in contact with you, and if we can’t contact you then unfortunately you will not be able to voice any character.. :(

    We also wanted to say congrats to everyone for their wonderful takes! There were a lot of great ones, and at times it was really hard to choose just one. We had to think really hard on what we were looking for! A brave but mysterious individual in a world unfamiliar to him. A human who has transformed into a Shinx, he is trying to unravel the mystery behind why he has transformed into a Pokémon with the help of his new partner as he navigates this strange new world. He is driven and reliable, as he forms a rescue team with his partner to help others as he dwells on who he is and what happened to him.


This is the main hero, and should not just sound cute. He will have to sound thoughtful and reflective, but also have a 'pleasant' main character voice. It should sound somewhat like a stand-in for the player.

  • (Solemn to Resolute) So that's how it was...I came to this world with such a resolve...knowing that if we succeeded, we would disappear...but if we don't act the destruction of time can't be stopped. That means we have to do it. Even if that means I must disappear.

A little cowardly, but a tender-hearted friend. He has always dreamed of becoming an explorer, but has never been able to build up the courage to apply at the exploration guild near his home. He wants to go on adventures and rescue others. His dream is to one day learn the purpose of a unique rock he found that has strange markings on it.

This is Totodile, a crocodile-like Pokemon, so a little gravel in a friendly voice might do you some good.

Loud, bold and brash are just a few traits to describe this loudmouth. As the guild's alarm clock, he is always raring to go, whether that be for an adventure or to LOUDLY proclaim that he is the strongest member of the Wigglytuff Guild. Surprisingly, he has a bit of a soft side despite all of his bravado.


This voice should be loud and rough, and possibly a tad obnoxious if you heard it too much. It can be gravelly, but doesn't have to be.
NOTE: Please don't strain your vocal chords too much on this voice (you would have to replicate this voice multiple times, and it should not sound strained).

Corphish is supportive and should have a friendly voice. Try to make his "Hey hey" parts sound natural if you can. Should sound somewhat gravelly but not dark. Maybe try tightening the back of your throat to get his voice sounding right.

The boss of the infamous Team Skull and a schemer by heart. He and his cronies are only an exploration team to make a quick bit of poke and do not care who gets hurt along the way. He acts more like a mafia boss than a team leader. His personality stinks as much as he does.


His voice should be deep and somewhat gravelly, and his accent should be similar to a 1920s mobster boss. He sounds like he’s in control and commands authority. He should sound mean and not someone you’d like to be friends with… or even spend too much time around.

A strong-willed Pokémon from the future that steals the Time Gears under any means necessary. In reality, he is trying to utilize the Gears to prevent the world's paralysis and darkness from influencing the minds of Pokémon. Despite his intimidating presence, he is actually quite straightforward and takes things at face value more often than not.


Grovyle is a thief, but not out of desire. Therefore he sounds more heroic and manly. He sounds somewhat dramatic, but not in the way of being annoying or irritating. He should sound elegant, cool, calm and collected. A deeper voice with some gravel should suffice.

One of the wisest and most powerful explorers of the guild. He is a magnanimous Pokémon and will even help out with the smallest of requests. He is also a Pokémon of the future, but one that assists Primal Dialga in his plans for the world's paralysis. He values self-preservation above all else and ironically, he himself fears his own end that might come from disrupting the events of the ruined future he comes from.


Dusknoir should sound big and deep, heroic even. He should sound like someone you would look up to, to some degree.

One of the masters of time and quite dedicated to her task as well. Wanting to stop the paralysis of the future, she sends Grovyle and the protagonist to the past to prevent the horrific fate of the World of Darkness and see the sun rise once more. She has a not-so-subtle crush on Grovyle and is a bit more bashful around her trusted friends. Celebi has a playful demeanor, but can be serious when she needs to be.


Celebi should sound a bit fairy-like and good-hearted. This means a higher pitch and not seductive. She should be able to sound serious and not laughable when she does so. Determined.

The legendary master of time itself; Dialga. Sent into an uncontrollable rage due to the destruction of the Time Gears and the collapse of the Temporal Tower, he ceased the flow of time as retribution and madness gripped him from the besmirching of his holy artifacts.

Dialga is a legendary Pokémon, with power over all of time. His voice is booming and commanding. He should sound large and scary, like “YOU DARE DEFY MY WORDS?!!!”

Sableye are somewhat impish little gremlins, so try to make them sound mischievous. They are servants to Lord Dusknoir however, so they try not to fall out of line. A little nasally and scrappy, with gravel.
