Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerLyrisch (Fandub)
What is this project?
Pocket Mirror is an indie RPG Maker game by AstralShift from over a decade ago. It got a remaster under the subtitle GoldenerTraum, which is entering its 3rd anniversary this May! Now my project, GoldenerLyrisch, will be a fandub of the aforementioned title. If you haven't had the chance to play Pocket Mirror yet, I highly recommend it! Carrying on, this'll be for a "Director's Cut"-esque playthrough which'll be uploaded on my Youtube channel! It'll feature full voice acting, and only include scenes relevant to progressing the plot. If feasible, I may package up some lines as a voice mod for the game in addition to this (subject to approval). Everyone who takes part in this project will be featured in the End Credits of each video. The entire production will span a few episodes, each focusing on a specific chapter. This is a big project for me to take on, lots of planning and editing. I have a very limited budget so I can only offer a little as thanks, but I greatly appreciate all who wish to partake nonetheless!

Pocket Mirror Plot Synopsis
"A young girl with a clouded past wakes up in a strange and eerie mansion with nothing but her pocket mirror in hand. In search of her memories, she must explore the twisted corridors and rooms of the mansion, solve puzzles, interact with unique characters, and uncover the truth behind her identity and the sinister forces that are at play. Will you be able to face the truth?"
About the Cast
For this project, I will be voicing the protagonist. Each role available will have information regarding their respective character provided below. If you're familiar with Pocket Mirror, that's even better! But regardless, you are welcome to audition if this project suits your fancy. Be sure to carefully review a character's information before auditioning. For each role, the approx. lines listed vary greatly in length (some full sentences, others a single word). Ultimately, this is intended to be a fun community project for fans of the game, old and new!

Audition Requirements
● Submit files as MP3 or WAV

● If recording multiple takes, do it in AABBCC format.
● Please do minimal editing to your audio (or none).
Noise reduction and normalization are acceptable

Casting Process:
If there is enough interest and the project is advancing, I'll be sure to add an update here once the cast has been confirmed. In that case, it'll still take me awhile to get everything ready for release. I will only be contacting those I'm interested in casting. The primary method of communication will be over Discord DMs if possible, joining my server is completely optional. All lines for each role will be prepared in advance and provided to you if chosen. Payment will be sent to the chosen VAs via Paypal after their finished work has been delivered and reviewed.

When I first put up this casting call, I wasn't sure there would be enough interest to get this far... But the full cast has now been chosen and the fandub is in development! Hello again people and pumpkins 🎃 This is the final update for the project during the casting process! Firstly, I would like to announce that auditions for Elise will be closing the end of this weekend. So if you would like to apply, now's your chance! Besides that, all Extras have been chosen... EXCEPT for Pumpkins! So if you would like a chance to be a silly lil guy or gal, this is the last call!
After much deliberation, the main cast has been selected! It was EXTREMELY tough to choose, you all did amazingly and I was blown away by your talent! A round of applause to everyone and CONGRATULATIONS to those who were cast 👏 I'm still contacting Extras.

Today is the last day to get your auditions in! The deadline is Apr 30th at 12:00 AM (PST). After then, I will move forward with the casting process. I'll be contacting talents I'm interested in casting for the lead roles, to check their availability, continued interest and potentially callbacks if necessary. Hello! Firstly, thanks to great fan reception and such amazing talent with over 200 submissions, I can confirm GoldenerLyrisch is moving forward! I am currently organizing things behind the scenes, I have modded the game to remove the in-game soundbites and dialogue box sounds. Which means I'll begin recording footage this month! There are just under two weeks left to audition! I have been sorting through submissions and shortlisting some. If you were dismissed, don't feel discouraged! You all did great, I just need to find the right fit for each role. Saying that, there are a TON of smaller roles for Extras [MF]. Including SEVERAL pumpkins, Mr. Rabbit, Ms. Fox, Elise, Roman and many more... They are unpaid, but credited. Be sure to audition for extras if that interests you! THANK YOU!
Audition for the Strange Boy [M] - [150 lines *approx.]! This devilish guy is always scheming to make a deal. Despite his disposition, his demeanor is that of an entertainer with a mischievous dose of antics. For this role, you will need to be able to laugh impishly and snap back sarcastically on a whim, going from light-hearted to dead-serious in a minute. He also runs the theater segments of the game, which each include a special cinematic he narrates. Notably, I am looking for someone adept at storytelling. Also, his voice isn't too deep, you'll have to sound youthful and snarky.

Audition for Egliette [F] - [50 lines *approx.]! This persnickety puppet queen is a bit of an oddball. She can be soft and sweet, but shockingly sinister if she turns on you. You must watch your every step and make a good impression, or else! For this role, you will need to be both cute and menacing, with varying degrees of either. She has a higher pitched voice, almost squeaky, since she's a toy. Just be sure to keep it regal!

Audition for Fleta [F] - [325 lines *approx.]! She considers herself the princess of her own kingdom and lives in a well-decorated dollhouse. Despite all her belongings, what she lacks are friends. She has a nasty temper and can be a complete brat about things. This comes from a place of loneliness though, and despite her outbursts she isn't all that bad. For this role, you will need to be able to show a lot of expression in your performance. She has a higher pitched voice and comes across as immature.

Audition for Harpae [F] - [300 lines *approx]! She's a caretaker at heart, who carries with her a lot of heavy burdens. Determined to be righteous, she often overlooks her own well-being. And despite appreciating the thought, she very much wants to be the one helping; not being helped. For this role, you'll need to project a calm, fanciful and conscientious presence. She can be quite stern if crossed, unwilling to compromise.

Audition for Lisette [F] - [150 lines *approx]! A twisted history has lead her to hold responsibility for actions she hardly has any control over, leaving her maniacal; she exhibits violent behavior and fits of hysterical laughter. But buried beneath her harsh exterior and erratic actions lies a tragic figure. For this role, you will need to convincingly portray her constant internal struggle and desperation, while capturing the madness that's consumed her. Still, you will need to be calm for a few moments.

Audition for Elise [F] - [30 lines *approx.]! She is the titular Little Goody Two Shoes from the prequel game and makes off-screen appearances throughout this story... So I'd like her to read out the Liebesbrief she wrote and storybook about her, again titled Little Goody Two Shoes. One day I heard an old woman talking about a strange rumor...
I am writing you this letter on my deathbed in order to cleanse myself of my own demons.
Now, this is an interesting one! Throughout the game, there are several minor characters (usually with several spoken lines, at most). This mainly includes Pumpkins [MF] that appear scattered throughout the world; they are mischievous and silly, so their voices can vary widely! Another more specifically is Rabbit [M] and Fox [F]. They're a pleasant fellow and madam who are... surprisingly dark. Besides this, I am looking for additional lines for other one-of characters. These fall under Misc. [masc, fem, or androgynous] so try that out however you want to, sweet or sinister!
For this audition, you are free to record any of the below audition lines you feel up to; i.e. if you do not feel like you can do Rabbit or Fox, but want to try out for Pumpkin, just record that part. Do note, these minor roles are unpaid but you will be credited!
